During the segment, Justice Minister Lametti hedged and dodged questioning about what terms and conditions the Canadian government is using to instruct the RCMP and financial institutions. This suggests that the widely anticipated run on the banks is now underway.
Watch for the government to come out with new emergency measures, specifically limiting withdrawals from ATM’s or stopping them altogether, while also limiting cash withdrawals at the bank proper. This is the gateway to a digital currency.

Banks will love what Trudeau is doing because the vast majority of credit card users carry a balance from month to month– an interest carrying balance. Banks hate cash because there is nothing in cash transactions for them.
