I was in Walmart Thursday in Destin Florida. Bunny Bread hot dog buns were priced at $3.20 for 8 buns. I commented to a fellow customer, “That’s 40 cents a bun.” His reply, “It’s because of the shipping crisis.”

When the US decided to “intervene” in the Balkans Crisis, the first units committed were Armored Mechanized forces from US Army Europe (a Task Force built around an Armored Division) and they were ordered to “road march” to the area. Say what you will about the US Army, they are not dumb and know how to conduct long range-operational road marches.
A major US Army Corps of Engineers reconnaissance effort was conducted of ALL possible routes and a $$$Billions of Dollar INFRASTRUCTURE improvement programs started along the “planned” routes. Those projects installed the Class 70 routes and support areas (e.g. an Abrams Tank is a Class 70 Vehicle) required before any road march from Europe could even start. The deployment was cancelled but the INFRASTRUCTURE Projects were NOT cancelled. The DoD and State Department handled the money, allot of which had to include Aid Type dollars to the nations involved.
