An injunction aimed at ending a blockade by truckers, supporters and protesters at the Ambassador Bridge in Windsor, Ontario went into effect at 7:00pm tonight. However, despite the court order even more people came to support the Freedom Protest.
Ontario police are handing out enforcement warnings in an effort to stop the blockade that has tied up cross-border traffic since Monday:

I have to double check my numbers but I think the percentage of eligible voters in Canada who voted in the last unnecessary expensive election in the Fall only drew about 40% to the polls. He lost the popular vote, but because of how the country voting ridings are split out the outcome always favours the Liberals (intentional and with a little help from their friends). I was referring to the above poll of Canadians, presumably they spoke with actual Canadians for the poll and the truckers who are fighting for freedom for ALL Canadians don’t even have 50% support. I saw a live stream of a convoy, I think it was going to Toronto, where the street was blocked down to one lane with traffic cones. That one lane was then blocked with anti-protestors including one Indigenous Indian and a kid. The live streamer removed the traffic cones and then the police told him to get on the sidewalk while the woman and kid remained in the roadway, to block the trucks. Then the police actually formed a blockade in front of the traffic while the woman continued to beat on her drum and scream insults at the trucks who by this time are backing up and going another route. This was unbelievable. The cops here in the good ‘ole USofA will stand by and allow BLM/Anti-fa to block roadways, but these Canadian cops actually facilitated the anti-protestors blockade!

But, in it, he spells out his strategy of non-violent resistance, justifies it, and candidly talks about the sometimes-great human costs of pursuing it. Required reading for anyone who’s reading these words.
MLK took the civil disobedience approach from Mahatma Ghandi.

History is full of wars for which nobody could quite remember why they were fought! This should always be kept in mind.
Peaceful negotiation has its place, as does war. History is full of examples of both. We could examine the history of internal (within a nation/state/territory) strife and how history has shown it to be resolved. That’s what Canada is experiencing, internal strife. The masterminds may be external but the exigent strife is internal, between factions of citizens and other citizens and the government. Can it be resolved peacefully? What does history indicate?
I remember a line from a movie which appears to resonate in real life. It was spoken to explain the actions of a Nazi propagandist using words and sound to demoralize Allied troops.
The line was ‘as long as they breathe they carry the message‘, in that case Nazism. We all know how WW2 worked out; tens of millions dead and whole countries laid waste to break the will of the zealots carrying the message of Nazism, Fascism and Japanese Imperialism. Sometimes that’s necessary; regrettable, but necessary.
Close to home in the U.S. we have the War of Revolution and the Civil War to examine. Where would we be today without them? It continues to build up day-by-day. I wouldn’t expect Ottawa police officers to actually enforce any court order. There is no justification for any “state of emergency” because the truckers are not violent. They have adopted the winning strategy which MLK spelled out in his Letter From A Birmingham Jail: non–violent disruptive resistance. It is working, and there is nothing that the government can do about it.
Eventually, Trudeau (or his successor …) will have only one option: to listen, and to give the truckers what they demand. But, “pride goeth before the fall.”

However, if they use brute force or gunfire against the truckers and their supporters and hurt anyone, the universal reaction will be massive. A government that shoots or kills the people loses its authority and deserves the bloody consequences.

A key part of the challenge is the asymmetry of focus. The government has massive resources to identify each individual protesting for either immediate or future punishment, while themselves hiding behind organizations. The people’s focus is on the origanizations and not the actual individuals contributing to their loss of freedom.
To change this, the people could start making their objections personal. It is important that these objections are not worded as threats, but are simple written and PRINTED statements that a specific individual is contributing to the violation of the people’s rights. The statement should include the full name and address of the individual named. By PRINTING these complaints and handing them out or posting them publicly the message will be sent that the people know WHO these people are and WHERE they live. Printing also takes away the ability of the government to use tech companies to track or delete such messages. These statements can focus on anyone assisting the government’s efforts such as judges, politicians, media people, police, and even low-level help such as drivers, secretaries and security people. The overall message should be that the people recognize that ALL of these people are complicit in the effort to deny the people of their natural and legal rights.
This action would start making lots of these people rethink where they are going while keeping the movement peaceful.
In the Police communication Tweet: “The Windsor Police & its policing partners have commenced enforcement at and near the Ambassador Bridge. We urge all demonstrators to act lawfully & peacefully. Commuters are still being asked to avoid the areas affected by the demonstrations at this time.” Actually urging citizens to remain lawful and peaceful while they take away their civil rights, illegally and violently if necessary. The fear that they have used to force unwitting participation in the suppression of individual freedoms is coming unwound and it would appear that the establishment is willing to take other paths to ensure compliance.

What’s odd to me about these poll numbers is the Truckers are receiving the majority of their support from younger Canadians.
That’s in sharp contrast to their US counterparts, most of whom having been reported as backing such authoritarian actions taken by our state and federal Govts.

I have said all along these truckers could do more harm by striking than protesting. They might just find the masses would join them too. And then what would Trudeau do?
A trucker strike now will work just as well as the blockades as not much has been delivered for nearly 2 weeks.
Once the truckers started down the non-violent path, they need to follow it or loose a a small enough percentage of support as to tip the scales of “agreement” slightly back to the Government.
While self immolation sounds noble, it serves no purpose at this point as the media has the power to turn the act back upon the truckers. the target of the media audience is NOT the hard core supporters but the easily swayed group in the middle (i.e. 51% of the 40%). I have been watching multiple livestreams of the Canadian freedom protests daily and there is always a large number of freedom protesters present with no or nearly no counter protesters.
The punishments that are being threatened upon the protesters are unreasonable, especially the threat of making them permanent.
