Many folks here may disagree, but I actually think the young people will be fine. They’ll google all sorts of budget hacks and watch youtube videos teaching them how to make cheap meals. Kids are resourceful. One person per bedroom is the current norm among the 20 somethings. I’ll bet many of them will move back in with their parents or have to go two or more to a bedroom if they decide to stick with roommates.
Having grown up in poverty, I don’t wish it on anyone, but I do think not having their every whim fulfilled and being forced to get by on their wits for the first time in their lives will be good for a lot of these kids.
It will at the very least become a memorable life lesson for them.

In my opinion:
A year of forced isolation didn’t didn’t make them angry. Quasi-Forced medical procedures don’t make them angry. Being required to affix a paper napkin on their faces to walk into a store doesn’t put them out. Restrictions on what they can say, and to whom, are only an inconvenience to them. They’re not “into politics” and think politics have nothing to do with their lives.
Maybe hunger and not having a car will finally do it.
Frankly, even then, I don’t think they’ll pay attention until all their microwaves and smart phones break and there’s nothing to watch on tv.
