WASHINGTON (AP) — A U.S. judge in Texas issued a nationwide injunction on Friday barring the federal government from enforcing President Joe Biden’s requirement that federal workers without qualifying medical or religious exemptions be vaccinated for COVID-19.
Judge Jeffrey Brown, who was appointed to the District Court for the Southern District of Texas by then-President Donald Trump, ruled that opponents of Biden’s vaccination mandate for federal employees were likely to succeed at trial and blocked the government from enforcing the requirement.
Biden announced in September that more than 3.5 million federal workers were required to undergo vaccination, with no option to get regularly tested instead, unless they secured approved medical or religious exemptions. The requirement kicked in this past November, and White House press secretary Jen Psaki said Friday that 98% of federal workers are vaccinated.
“We are confident in our legal authority here,” she added.
Those out of compliance with the policy were referred to counseling and could be terminated under an executive order signed by Biden.
Brown wrote that at issue was whether the president “can, with the stroke of a pen and without the input of Congress, require millions of federal employees to undergo a medical procedure as a condition of their employment.” He added, “That, under the current state of the law as just recently expressed by the Supreme Court, is a bridge too far.”

Generally, truckers would fall under DOT, not under the government employees. Unless they hold government contracts, in which case they could fall under either or both mandates. I haven’t seen any rulings specifically addressing companies that fall under more than one mandate though.
It doesn’t apply to crossing the border. A trucker working for a private company can’t be forced by his employer to be vaxxed, but Canada can keep him from crossing the border into Canada.
I believe that private businesses can still impose vax mandates at will, but this makes it that much harder to do. Now, workers have more options and alternatives, just like customers who pass up a ‘mask required’ business in favor of a less woke one. It’s no longer a blanket rule across the board.
Plus, the private businesses can no longer point fingers at who made them do it. When it is strictly their own decision and not imposed by OSHA or government edict, the private business will incur full legal liability for any vax injuries incurred as a condition of employment.
These business owners are really stupid if they do that. Don’t be the one left without a chair when the music stops. These mRNA experiments will easily have catastrophic consequences.

I recall we discussed it, and briefly considered bucking it (about 10 seconds) before deciding “what the heck, it ain’t worth it” and she went ahead and took them.
Frankly, the road was previously graded, with applicant drug testing, which no one seriously contested.
Controlling substances you MAY only be using, on “off hours” and coming to work sober.

But note THAT article was written and published 3 days BEFORE the SCOTUS ruling against the OSHA mandates, and 10 days before the District Judge injunction against the federal gov.t’s employee & contractor mandates.
So if the court’s injunction holds and survives the DOJ challenges, any agency that has assembled a database of personal information for govt employees & contractors who requested & received religious exemptions will be hard pressed to justify maintaining it or even building it in the first place.

So IMHO, and by deduction from what was stated, if there is no longer a requirement to show proof of being vaxxed, that means there is no remaining enforcement of any requirement to get vaxxed.

AS I lap-up this news, I keep thinking of what they might pull next. The recent SCOTUS decision seems to only be ruling on a the procedural appropriateness of the vax mandate. Questioning the nature of the experimental vax, itself, appears to be no where on the table. Likewise, this new ruling, appears to only address propriety, process, authority, and that kind of thing. My gripe will always be the pathetic illogic, of mandating an experiemntal drug, for which the Drug campanies assume no responsibility. They are protected from adverse reactions, but we are not. I am still waiting for a forum to emerge, to sort-out that discontinuity..

SCOTUS can only rule on the case presently before them. The OSHA ruling was specifically for that lawsuit–the EO from September for federal Executive Branch employees was not a part of that lawsuit.
Now we need the same kind of rulings for medical workers, and state/city workers who are also being mandated to get jabbed! There is NO science that these shots protect anyone so this is pure politics at this point and we need to speak up loud and clear to our elected overlords that we are DONE!!

So while I agree with the judges conclusions, I still have major issues with district court judges issuing nationwide rulings. I will never be comfortable with an un-elected lawyer having that kind of power.
To emphasise, IN ORDER FOR the Court to grant such an injunction, the Court MUST find that the motion, that is a permanent injunction or stay, has A HIGH LIKLIHOOD of being granted, on the legal merits.
For SCOTUS to later overturn, while possible is a rebuke to this lower court judge.
However, for me its not just the “split decision” of SCOTUS, allowing healthcare mandate while blocking OSHA mandate, its the reasoning that disturbs me. They focused on process, rather than on the limits of Federal Government power.
For me, the Courts have ceased to have relevance, like the Republican party hierarchy, Ronna, Mitch, Mitt, etc. the Courts have lossed credibility, and with it relevance.

Because their employers are addicted to government reimbursement for medicare and medicaid patients. Obamacare forced consolidation and corporatization of healthcare in this country. Private practices were forced to sell out to large hospital systems where 30-40% of their total revenue comes in the form of government checks. We have a defacto government controlled healthcare system, and higher costs due to insurance company middlemen. It is the absolute worst of both worlds.
If you want healthcare that you can be confident will focus on what is best for you as a patient, you need to find yourself a doctor that does not accept medicare or medicaid patients. And you if you want reasonable cost for your treatment, you need to pay in cash.
This is a consequence of socialism.
The government has established itself as an insurance company (Medicare), it compels you to contract with that insurance company and it seizes a part of your labor (FICA, “Federal Insurance Contributions Act”). The federal government is not authorized to establish itself as a insurance company. Compulsion to contract is illegal and immoral. These are two consequences of the degenerate idea underlying the socialist “New Deal” and “Great Society”.
There are other consequences of these degenerate ideas. For example, the government insurance company can do something no other insurance company can: use the power of law to control every person it contacts – physicians, administrative staff, patients. This is happening today, to wit: adminstrative staff are required to undergo unwanted medical procedures simply because their employer accepts payments from the government insurance company. Truly an abomination.
