Folks, I know times are rough right now for many people, but we have a long-time Treehouse friend who urgently needs our help.
Richard Stiller’s dog Dexter is having health issues and the vet in Southern California costs a bundle right now because of COVID stuff.
Dexter has been the loveable MAGA dog on various social media for a long time. He’s cute as a button and just all around great. He’s been sick for several days.
The dog hospital in SoCal charges a whopping $3,000/night for care. Richard and his wife have exhausted their resources to try and take care of Dexter at home. Now he trying to raise money to help heal his best friend and loyal companion in the hospital.
I’ll vouch for the authenticity of the need. Every $5 matters.
If you can help his Go Fund Me is HERE
Richard is on Twitter Here
Please keep Dexter and his family in your thoughts and prayers.
Love to all.
I am humbly asking for your help. This is something I never thought I would be doing.
I'm raising money for Help Dexter with 3 nights at the animal hospital.. Click to Donate https://t.co/Cdzq0MW6ap

I no longer have the 4K per night it costs for the animal hospital here in SoCal.

Hope Dexter get better. Already over $11000 donated.
Over $21k now!
Maybe we could send Dexter on a cruise after this so he could lift his spirits?
You have raised $21K for a dog and no one here sees anything wrong with this?
People can donate their hard earned money as they see fit. Most people who do donate also donate to other causes, so quit with your panties being in a bind!
People can donate to what they want and I can criticize it just as you criticized me. See how that works!
Or … have you joined with the left and speech you don’t agree with should be banned?
Dexter you good boy, help is on the way!!♥️♥️♥️
Has the goal been reached already?
Prayers for Dexter’s healing, as well as comfort and strength for Richard and his wife.
We don’t need to stop just because the goal has been reached. There may be after vet care that’s needed and Big Pharma doesn’t give breaks for our furry family members.
Dexter would give his life for his family, so the least we can do is help give him the best care possible. If there’s money left over, please get Dexter a special pet bed from Mike Lindell!
It has, but I think he should have asked for more
Prayers for the family and their beautiful fur baby!
Stay away from the VCA animal specialty group at 4641 Colorado Blvd in Los Angeles. They killed my cat and they have a Black Lies Matter sign on their front gate entrance.
All Lives Matter
I worked at a small animal hospital at the time the VCAs moved in nationwide and bought out a lot of veterinarians. Yep, not the same after that, AT ALL.
Fortunately I advanced my degrees and moved on. But sad because the industry definitely changed after the late 90s or so.
We’ve had good luck with the VCA in Fountain Valley.
What is wrong with Dexter?
Thank you. I was searching his twitter feed.
That’s low
I mean, your comment is low
No, accurate.
👍
My heart goes out to the family. I have been in their situation many times.
It hurts.
May God Bless Dexter and his people and other animal family members.
I understand this heartache and not being able to even get your fur baby in to see a vet is beyond sickening.
Hope dexter makes it.. He doesn’t look too good….. Prayers for a good outcome
Prayers for a miracle of healing for Dexter. 🙏🙏
Looks like a bad case of cherry eye. He may need operations
You’re cruel.
I think Dexter is 7 or 8 years old.
He was about a year old when Trump came down the escalator in 2015.
Poor guy. I am praying for him and wonder what happened. As a licensed veterinary technician, I feel so bad and will be thinking about dexter and his family.
Sundance, please reach out to me if our friend dexter’s humans need a sounding board.
Anyone who ever owned a dog and ended up at least once at the emergency vet knows the pain of this…the pain of seeing your animal and devoted friend sick and the pain of the emergency vet bill, diagnostics and X-rays etc. We racked up $8k in no time years ago over our beloved 8 year old Doberman rescue. $8k in what extended his life for 7 more months. But how do you not do it?! And if you can’t do it it is excruciating. God’s mercy over dexter and his family.
👍👍
That’s why I don’t want to have another dog. It just hurts too much.
Now, my daughter has a very cute fuzzy dog… Bam Bam… he’s about as old as I am in dog years and we get along fantastically. We all love that little fellow.
So, I guess I’m a dog grand dad… I bought him some really cool toys for Christmas at Costco… even a membership card chew toy! It amazes me that HE KNEW it was a chew toy even before we opened the box for him.
Awwww, you old softy, you’re a great granddad.
Done!
I am not on Twitter but sending good vibes to Dexter and his family.
Not sure why but after I select the donation amount and click next, the next page wont load.
Not sure what the problem could be….I’m not very tech literate. I didn’t have any problem. Maybe keep trying? Try a different browser?
Same thing on my mobile. Maybe I got cut off after I donated to Kyle Rittenhouse before they cancelled his account.
I wasn’t able to donate on my mobile either
I used my iPhone and PayPal. Ugh!and ugh! but it’s the easy way to donate.
Is it my VPN? GiveSendGo works
probably a lot of people trying at the same time.
There is a time to say goodbye.. but not yet!!!!!!!!!! I am so glad that Richard is bringing his dear boy to the vet. An illness that can be cured is worth fighting for. Bless and keep them.
Keep us posted on Dexter’s progress…………thanks for reaching out to the CTH community.
Glad to see they reached their goal still gave 20 and hope he gets well soon, what a beautiful creature!
A few shekels on the way. We’re on our 4th Golden Retriever. Great dogs and worth every penny.
Five goldens in my corner. First was a puppy, the next 4 were rescues.
Animal hospitals are VERY EXPENSIVE!
If Dexter can receive care and healing, why not try?
It’s one thing if there is slim to no hope of a pet recovering, – then one contemplates the awful alternatives one might need to take, but that does not seem to be the case, as far as we know.
My cat – who thankfully has no medical issues (at this time)- spent two nights in an animal hospital due to a bad reaction to a vaccine (hmmmm!!!!!!!!!!), nothing else wrong with her at all.
But if not for the animal hospital, she very well might have died – the vaccine so sickened her she could not eat or drink, even though she tried, and was becoming badly dehydrated. She needed to get fluids intravenously.
In other words, she was not going to get better at home, she needed care I was unable to provide. This started towards the end of the week and became dire over the weekend as well, when her vet could not be reached.
Luckily, I had pet insurance and so they paid about 75 – 80% of the bill.
Sending more prayers
Donating and sharing over at Free Atlantis social media site.
Done. Get well Dexter, prayers go out to you Golden. God Bless
SD small donation made per your request.
Ahhhhh…. Prayers for Dexter. We need him back on the trail with MAGA.
Prayers for Dexter and his family
Heavenly Father, you created all things for your glory and made us stewards of this creature If it is your will, restore it to health and strength. Blessed are you, Lord God, and holy is your name forever and ever.
Amen
Beautiful prayer Sunny!
Thoughts and prayers are with Dexter and his family! Let’s push this Patriot pup over the recovery line!
I’ll get a ton of hate for this, and I almost went straight to donating cause of how much I love my dog, but a few things crossed my mind… 1st, is dexter 4 or 14? 2nd, why Dexter’s owners continue to live in California if they can’t afford a vet bill. 3rd, I don’t want any of my money going to a vet or anything else in California
I hope you don’t get hate, and I suspect you are not indicating hate for Dexter’s humans. We have different priorities and different reactions to things at different times.
My mid-50s son had to put his Great Dane down (old in dog years) awhile back. I have the last photo taken at the vet’s, as son is kneeling in front of Top, cradling the dog’s head and saying goodbye. Boy, do I understand that. Have lived those goodbyes too many times.
Everyone, including Dexter’s people, are doing the best they can in the overload of the moment. No one is required to help them financially, so you’re fine. Frankly, I think that the overload and stress of what everyday life is like right now may at times assert itself in unusual emotions and breakouts of distress–kind of a dislocation of emotion and effort because of so many things happening that we can’t do anything about as individuals.
Dexter is just maybe like the starfish, stranded on the sand, thrown back into the surf by the man who was taunted a bit, as someone said to him, “You can’t save all the starfish.” His response was along the lines of, “I saved that one.” We are so limited in so many ways. Even if decisions are imperfect and flawed, some empathy is possible, I think.
Ooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, what you wrote is so beautiful, wise, compassionate, and true….
Some people can’t afford to move or their job. It really isn’t easy.
Sundance posted above that Dexter is about 7 or 8, he was one year old when President Trump came down the escalator.
I’m glad they’ve met their goal, we are wiped out and looking at having to take out on a second mortgage right now to pay medical bills.
But I just gave $10 to the local VA today, said that’s all I had. I didn’t want their trashbags that were horrible, I said I’ll just give you a little money.
We lost our dog last April, her heart medicine was getting very expensive and also there were shortages. I can’t imagine how it is now. We did find a compounding pharmacy at the last. The hospital doctor told us she needed a few days in the hospital but she died an hour after dropping her off for assessment. I knew she wouldn’t be long but I didn’t think it was the last time we would see her. We miss her so. The hospital bill would have been comparable to what Dexter’s owners were quoted, though. My dog’s blood pressure bottomed out after being given Lasix while my husband and I were deciding on what to do due to her prognosis anyway.
Hope you and your family are being healthy. Be well.
Thanks so much, Kristin!
Kaco…. so many of us have similar stories of love and loss for a beloved pet. Just wanted you to know that the Treehouse is so much richer for having lovely people like you it its branches. ❤️
That is so nice of you, Ad rem, thank you, and thanks for all the support here and also the support for the Covid we went through in December! I really appreciate it!
As Sundance stated above, Dexter is about 7 or 8 years old.
If you read Richard Stiller’s twitter linked above and get to know him and his commitment to MAGA where he lives in So Cal, as well as his constant fun and spirited support of our patriotic vision for our beloved USA, you might have reconsidered such a mean comment.
Also, if you read Richard Stiller’s twitter linked above, he says today that he and his wife depleted their savings earlier in the year (as have MANY people — if you are flush with cash that’s a wonderful blessing for you).
I don’t think your comment added anything positive to this blog at all. Why not just maintain silence if you cannot find time to research and offer something redemptive to all of us?
Thank you for your post. I wanted to respond but if I said what I really wanted to say, I was afraid I would be banned.
$30,000 would certainly help the unvaccinated parents booted out of Ronald McDonald houses in the expenses entailed trying to stay close by their dying child.
Is that hateful too?
Not everyone can afford to move…..not everyone can find a decent paying job elsewhere……. especially White males……and there are other mitigating factors people have which prevents moving.
Think about the dog. You don’t know the situation. Open your heart you will feel better.
No hate here, Shawn. Of all the love I have received in my long life, the most sincere, unconditional came from a Yellow Lab named Sully. She would have followed me through the gates of hell and I her. She is gone now, but lives in my heart. If I can repay a small bit of what she gave me, by helping this lovely dog, Dexter…..then I am happy too.
Theres millions of MAGA like me in California.
He needs to up the goal
This is so nice of you to do. I just had to put my dog down due to lack of money so I feel this owners pain. I’m more then happy to donate what I can. Prayers for his furry friend.
So sorry! I have had to do the same…..too many times.
✅ Donation sent! Thank you Sundance for the alert.
Outstanding!
$15.5k as of right now, am I cutting onions or is it dusty in here?
Hope you make it Dexter!
God bless this bundle of fur!
It would be good to know what Dexter is facing.
This field was difficult to staff pre-pandemic, its way worse now with some clinics reducing hours due to lack of staff.
The entire animal care industry is a mess. Many in the field worked through the entire last two years. You would think this would spur an increase in salaries in this field, but it hasn’t happened. Long hours, tons of stress, and low pay.
Yup. And so many clinics won’t let you come in with your animal, including ER hospitals. As you say, it’s a mess on so many levels.
If it wasn’t important, Sundance wouldn’t ask. Happily donating for the cause … prayers for MAGA dog!
Well, best wishes to Dexter and family.
Almost $16K in….
I love animals and animal lovers. I donated 25.00 and am praying. I challnege all here to match me 🙂
Get better Dexter.
Hope my small donation helps Richard and your family
Thanks for helping Dexter/Richard Sundance!
This truly warms my heart and helps restore my faith in humanity.
Get better GOOD BOY!!!!
Donated, shared and I’m praying and asking for prayers for Dexter, Richard & family. May God Bless and keep you all!
We are financially tapped since Kimi got put on unpaid leave at the school for refusing weekly testing or getting the vax but I did share on my Facebook page and hope my peeps can help. We have 18 furbabies and know how this feels because we have a male lab having seizures and can’t afford a vet here in Northern California…
Disheartening news about your lab. So so sorry.
Truly.
Oh, darling. Please be well.
All for one. No Treepers (canines included) left behind. Ever!
I can can relate to the owners and their anguish. My GS dog was diagnosed with cancer last spring. It was crazy at first and took a lot of time to get in to see an oncologist. Fortunately, I took out pet insurance when she was pup. As a result they have paid for all of her medical needs except for a 10% deductible per invoice. The cost for her treatment is really expensive and I would not have been able to do it on my own. She’s still with me and doing pretty good. I’m thankful for every extra day I get with her. Donation made 🙂
That’s so wonderful. I’m so glad for you both that she’s still doing well!
Done
🙏
An extraordinary wise lady said it best “Every little’s a help”. Maude
I believe dogs are one of God’s finest creations.
Praying for this beauty and donated as well.
I knew I liked you folks from day one, but what this little community has done today… just blows me away. There is surely GOOD company in the Treehouse!!
Donation sent!! Get well Dexter.
