Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

Blast from the past…….1951
The cadence sound of marching in the armed services.
The lyrics were left to the imagination of the cadence counter.
The lyrics went from the routine to the not so routine.
Sound Off
Little WP marched around the living room, toy rifle on his shoulder as this blasted from the radio . . .
Duende is the mysterious spirit of flamenco. When it arrives, as it must arrive, you fell it . . .
Found this….Noa Drezner..
Flamenco guitarist, composer and producer, one of the few women in her field in the world.
She lived for a decade in southern Spain, where she studied flamenco guitar, played alongside leading artists and participated in countless events and festivals in Spain, Israel and abroad.
Noa brings the warm and authentic sound of the Spanish guitar to new and surprising areas, between Tel Aviv and Cadiz.
She is considered one of the most prominent female characters in the world of flamenco in general, and the Spanish guitar in particular.
Her Israeli roots, her travels around the world, especially in India and Spain where she lived, provided her with the basis to create and visualize music “with more freedom” and to design a sound that is truly hers.
Noa’s debut album, “The Red string,” published in 2019, was recorded in Spain and Israel and is the ultimate example of the global influence of flamenco.

GB Bari: This is a great discovery.
not that you meant it this way, but you have reminded me how rock stars used to claim that traveling from airplane to arena to hotel around the world, so they can bilk crowds of big money and bed hoards of groupies, and repeating, somehow made them superior and more qualified to comment on the world. Which of course, they did in an attempt to further brainwash their victi… er .. fans.
Wonder how covid has otherwise changed the music business?
Now a lot of them (with some notable exceptions) are medically qualified to push the jabs on us unwashed deplorables.
What music business. Haven’t heard much in the way of new music lately, course, I don’t much listen to anything besides “old” instrumentals. I mean Old Old…..you guys are all too young to remember the music I like. I’m talking before the 50’s rock and roll era. I’m still hung up on my Moms music…..

❤️ garrison!
Would you mind if I dedicate this tune to all of the branches of the treehouse? 😘
Oops. To thank catus for this sorry
Between you and garrisons postings I get so mixed up sometimes
You both are fantastic ❤️
Interuption here, I got a good larf out of last nights reply, it was to late for me to respond , I really was though expecting a “Hiss”
😁
Nahh..I’ve hung out with junk yard dogs all my life! They’re the best and my preferred group to hang around with. You’re always welcome to stop on by my forest 😉
Junkyard dog ! Whatdaya mean ? I’ll have you know I am proud of my twenty eight pedigrees !
I protect all my bushland and water my own tree’s,yeah I figured you out , met your kind before, trying me with that special meow and then the purr !
What is it with you felines always taunting ?
O’l daddy dog mungrel only told me to figure it out for myself, never did figure that bit out ! All I got was pups and pups,
But if you got a nice forest
I could hang out in for a while I might be able to get a little junkyard mungrel space away from the mutts, the 29 pedigree is the worst believe me 😁
Howdy, son! Glad you figured out them felines cause your pop never did. 😂
I’m sorry pop, I should of listend more about the pee and tree thing , but that bird and bee thing the feline , um um shucks, well pop its like that Adam and Eve thingy, I suppose I can only blame myself, but I did try pop, I promise I’ll listen more 😥
😂
I hope this fits Mungrel – one of my favorite Harry Belafonte songs. You think your ears are not working right when you listen – but here are the words – Man Piaba
When I was a lad of three-foot-three
Certain questions occurred to me
So I asked me father quite seriously
To tell me the story ’bout the bird and bee
He stammered and he stuttered pathetically
And this is what he said to me
He said, “The woman piaba and the man piaba
And the Ton Ton call baka lemon grass
The lily root, gully root, belly root uhmm
And the famous grandy scratch scratch
It was clear as mud but it covered the ground
And the confusion made the brain go ’round
I went and ask a good friend of mine
Known to the world as Albert Einstein
He said “Son, from the beginning of time and creativity
There existed the force of relativity
Pi r square and a minus ten means a routine only when
The solar system in one light year
Make the Hayden planetarium disappear
So if Mt Everest doesn’t move
I am positive that it will prove
That the woman piaba and the man piaba
And the Ton Ton call baka lemon grass
The lily root, gully root, belly root uhmm
And the famous grandy scratch scratch
It was clear as mud but it covered the ground
And the confusion made the brain go ’round
I grabbed a boat and went abroad
In Baden Baden asked Sigmund Freud
He said “Son, from your sad face remove the grouch
Put the body down up on the couch
I can see from your frustration a neurotic sublimation
Hey love and hate is psychosomatic
Your Rorsach shows that you’re a peri pathetic
It all started with a broken sibling
In the words of the famous Rudyard Kipling
That the woman piaba and the man piaba
And the Ton Ton call baka lemon grass
The lily root, gully root, belly root uhmm
And the famous grandy scratch scratch
Well I traveled far and I traveled wide
And I don’t even have me self a bride
All the great men upon this earth
Have confused me since my birth
I’ve been over land and been over sea
Trying to find answer ’bout the bird and bee
But now that I am ninety three
I don’t give a darn you see
If the woman piaba and the man piaba
And the Ton Ton call baka lemon grass
The lily root, gully root, belly root uhmm
And the famous grandy scratch scratch
Thanks for that , much like, poetic prose I enjoy a lot, I used to read a lot of obscure “non- established” short stories and poetry, it amazed me how good much of it was.
That’s a big problem nowdays as the little fella doesn’t get a break from the big publishing houses unless they spew the narrative.
Cheers.
we aim to please
spread sunshine smiles as often as possible
I am sure the song is available, and the music is typically great Belafonte – but til I looked it up to post for you I never knew all the words.
Made me laugh
Good morning, FC.
Good morning grandpa 🙋♀️
😉
I remember that song well.
You are Making me feel old! Hee Hee.
I have heard this before , I reckon in an old movie.
Like.
The Hebrew word from the manuscripts is דָּבַר ( dāḇar ) which means literally – “speak.” So if we take the scripture literally here (no indication these verses represent a dream or an allegory) we have to assume the Lord actually spoke to Abram in some voice.
It is quite possible that the Lord spoke to Abram (and others) directly to the speech recognition part of his brain without going through audible intermediary steps (sound waves via the eardrum etc.) Considering that the universe is a filled with energy fields at multiple levels, I personally have no doubt the Creator can, as He chooses, communicate with us individually or en masse at will.

See the USA in your Chevrolet….. no shutdowns, no mandates
“Let’s go Brandon!”
She sang that often on her TV show which GM/Chevrolet sponsored. I think that was on my folks TV every week. I remember sitting on the rug and watching it on the black & white 20″ Philco TV….
She sure gave it everything she had here singing for her sponsor. Really pouring out the charm, which she had a lot of.
🙂
Thanks jay 1776,
I was out of the country at the time….. missed it.
I see “Paul Revere and the Raiders” had the B side of the 45.
TO GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT LET US PRAY
Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.
And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.
— Romans 8:26-28, ESV
This hymn is attributed to Martin Luther (1483-1546).
The four-voice, a cappella singing here is very beautiful, I think. The slow tempo seems appropriate for the time it was recorded — the early days of covid.
Sometimes religious writing and preaching make us feel like we need to muster up our faith all on our own. I admire this hymn because it prays for faith. It prays for grace, and courage, for changed hearts and for knowledge of Jesus Christ, so we may abide in the Lord. All the way to our true home.
As St. Paul said, “Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness.”
1 To God the Holy Spirit let us pray for the true faith needed on our way
That He may defend us when life is ending and from exile home we are wending.
Lord have mercy.
2 O sweetest Love, Your grace on us bestow; set our hearts with sacred fire aglow
That with hearts united we love each other, every stranger, sister, and brother.
Lord have mercy.
3 Transcendent Comfort in our every need, help us neither scorn nor death to heed
That we may not falter nor courage fail us, when the foe shall taunt and assail us.
Lord have mercy.
4 Shine in our hearts, O Spirit, precious light; Teach us Jesus Christ to know aright
That we may abide in the Lord who bought us, til to our true home He has brought us.
Lord have mercy.
. . . but deliver us from the Evil One.
The Jesus Prayer
Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy upon me, a sinner.
Amen!

Sepp…what a glorious resource! ❤️
Gracious morn, Cat🤗 Abundant blessings headed your way.💓
Blessed morning to you Betsy ❤️ caught it…back at ya. 😉
Goodaye Sepp, your probability the only one here that I don’t say Goodaye to, but to me you seem a solitude sort and that’s why.
I lived without any human contact at all with the exception of an old battery radio that I used for world news for thirty minutes a week.
Did I freak out when I come back to so called civilization, took me a month to realise that the people around me were actually real !
So this is just my way of saying Goodaye .
Good morning, sir! Hoping your world is sorting itself out. Here’s to another week of drama with Mr Djokovic, the Aussie political football. Dictator Dan and Morrison have nothing better to do? Ah well…
Stay safe💓
Good morning, Betsy! Just saw your last evening reply about my grands. Their age difference is 2 years. Our grandson is super smart but has some issues to work through as most of the attention for the last 7 years has been focused on his sister, and understandably so. But it’s becoming a lot more balanced now, so I think we’ll be able to help him figure it all out with God’s help.
I’ll be in and out of the OT today. Another “relaxing” retirement day. 😁
Blessings!
We’ve got the same going on with my son’s two, 3 years apart, one girl and her older brother who is smart but is having trouble with being over sensitive and reacting accordingly. He is 7. But when I remember his dad at that age it was exactly what he went through and, of course, grew out of it. Parenting is the hardest work ever as we try to mold what I’ll call, for brevity’s sake, functioning well rounded adults. Definitely a one day at a time job.
In other news, we just got a picture from our daughter of two ecstatic 16 year old twin grandsons outside the Department of Public Safety holding up their legitimate driver’s license paperwork. Yikes!! A marker for her and for us, as we suddenly reminisced over all their younger years. Bittersweet in a way.
We bought them St. Christopher visor clips for their first cars. One of the lads will have my husband’s old Jeep. I mean really old. But it’s in good nick, and we don’t need two cars. The other will have his dad’s old Toyota 4 Runner. Now for the insurance. Another YIKES!! All in caps.
One day yours will be where we are, and you won’t believe how fast that milestone comes. Thus endeth my ramblings. Enjoy your day🤗
Oh, we’ve been there with 2 of our older ones. One 21 and one 18.
I used to have a visor thingy that said never drive faster than your angel can fly.
I’ve matured though, usually don’t go but 8-9 miles over the limit. 😁
Of course you have…silly me!! I was thinking in terms of grandchildren getting their licenses. That’s a good old shock. Love your visor thingy. I shall tell them both that as well🙏
Actually, the 21 year old granddaughter is a very good driver but she’s always been very level headed. I’ve been thinking, that visor clip may still be in my old hunting truck. If I find it I’ll give it to her just for fun. 🙂
I think you should. It won’t hurt🙏
Just check the old truck visor when I fed the deer. It is still there and it says Neveer drive faster then your guardian angel can fly. I think my favorite 21 year old granddaughter just got a new old present.
It’s a game that we play. She says, “I’m your favorite granddaughter, right?” and my answer always is “You are my favorite 21 year old(or whatever age she was at the time) granddaughter”.
A few real good solid comments on mp1 I left, I’ll return the tomohawk now , it might need a little um, sharpen though !
Da sonshine wit ya disday .
On my way!
Replied x 2
Thank you, Sepp
Blessed day to you
Good Morning.
Funny!!!!! ( I had to watch it a second time to see if what I thought I saw was actually what i saw!!!!!)
Goodaye Leenie, our secret is safe !
You have me worried, Puppy! Several posts have seemed VERY angry. You good?
”Puppy” is not a perjurative! (Sp?). . No possibility!! Sway between the puppy and the mungrel. It will mess with their heads!
“And for my next trick . . .” 😃

BE MY VOICE
BABY LIVES MATTER
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow, that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ.
AMEN.
Mornin’ infidels.
Oh yes, that’s how it works all right. Morning WeeWeed😊
Mornin’ WeeWeed!
“I put my bathroom scales in a corner, and that’s where it can stay until it apologizes.”
And for the record, I’ve “unfriended” mine. We are no longer on speaking terms. 😉
❤️ 😹 I’m sharing this 😉
I think…no…I KNOW…for whatever reason that losing weight for us girls is much harder than for men. Age doesn’t help either, does it, Cat?
There isn’t a woman alive who won’t understand that funny epithet😂
Actually 🤫 couple years ago, I had to repair a rental house. Took me 5months, ran circles around the younger workers, energy that wouldn’t quit( 4am-9pm work days), end result- great gams and forty pounds lighter. And the neighbors were annoyed, their contractors were working at a turtles pace. 😎
the neighbors without construction work would have been more annoyed at 4 a.m. construction noises.
I only did the quiet work from 4 till 8am. But I confess, when they opened their curtains first thing, I was doing yard work. Quietly but furiously Nothing more annoying than a disrespectful neighbor. 😎
How super!! Dear goodness, girl…a woman of many talents. I’m all admiration! I’m surprised your neighbours didn’t offer to hire you on the spot. I’m sure you were exhausted but the satisfaction of a job well done PLUS weight loss? Priceless!
PS. I know it was hard work because we did the same with our house in Wales built in 1619.
No offers, but I think I overheard them chewing out, quietly, their vendors. Lots of furiously pointing fingers 😆
You should have seen the 11pm plumbing job…2nd floor bath, made it rain in kitchen, new creek in basement. Shut off in basement. Learned plumbing, demo, drywalling, plastering and compounding. Good times 😆 looking back.
Your Wales house, what was your most challenging and fun job? Hope it was roofing
Wasn’t roofing. Damn fat finger
The slate roof was fine thank goodness but we were in a deep valley, so when the winds came through we held our breath that one or two wouldn’t come off.
My goodness. That’s some scary work you did. You were safety harnesses I hope. Very brave. I’d have been terrified.
My fingers oopsied typing hope it was roofing. I meant hope it wasn’t roofing. I’ve been troubled thinking what kind of person Betsy must think of me Never intended for mixed signals.
None delivered at all😊 I certainly understood what you meant…from one fat fingered gal to another.
I was worried 😟
Thanks for understanding ❤️
Never fear, Cat. Taking offense is not me. I knew exactly what you meant. Mainly because I’ve done exactly the same and worried after. My problem is overthinking, as my own brood know only too well😉
❤️
OTOH, since it was a rental house it is good to baptize it every now and then.
You are one cat of many talents. 🙂
We stripped all the stain off every newel and the beautiful panelling of a gorgeous pitch pine staircase with paint stripper and a sharp nail file. About 40 intricately carved ones all caked with brown pain.Oh the HORROR!!!!! We worked until 2 in the morning for days to get it done but oh my!! So worth it. We had a Minton tiled floor that we brought up with a lot of scrubbing with a brillo. I dread to think of the decades of grime that had been embedded. Horse hair and lime plaster replaced…I could go on but that was the most tedious and time consuming. PHEW!!!
I love hearing about restoration projects. Sounds like the finished projects were breathtaking beautiful. I can almost see the beauty you restored.
In our early years, I think I would have enjoyed working with you on a project. Hmmm…Betsy, may I be so bold as to say, I think we are working on a project together now. Probably a dumb thing to say but still hmmmm
Grandpa…. it’s a perfect metaphor for these times!
You sure know how to pick em. Lol 😉 ❤️
🙂
pick ’em; now that’s some funny stuff right there!
I agree! Nothing dumb about it, Cat💓. You could be the chief and I would be the Indian (and tea maker). Now you and my husband, a doer extraordinaire? The projects you both could accomplish! I would just stand back and oooo and ahhhhhh! He’s a master everything. Including sewing draperies for me on an old fashion sewing machine we found in a junk shop…one that you have to work manually. I was ooooo-ing and ahhhh-ing like nobody’s business. And making cups of tea😉
Hmmm rather prefer being sisters of the underground. Brothers and sisters United for a common cause.
I can envision you supervising…Ooooing and ahhhhhing and serving refreshments. Lol
Women make the best supervisors 😉
My strength no doubt. But I do bow to your incredible talents, Cat. I am truly in awe of people who can do what I can’t.
Betsy, you’re being too modest 😉
My talents include making messes and have someone else make it beautiful. nothing incredible in that. Just guts no glory, like the saying goes
You seem to do both very well per your house projects.
It is I who is in awe of you!
Bless you, Cat. Don’t you dare hide your light under a bushel! It burns too bright💓
Minton floor! Betsy, now you got me very interested. After we built our house wifey got a Minton (or two) china sets and they are my favorite. wonder what a Minton tile floor would look like when restored to full glory?
Minton tiles are earth coloured and their various sizes are arranged in a pattern for a floor. Very prevalent I think in Victorian times, though it could be Edwardian. Sturdy, and they develop a patina with wear. Very understated but so interesting…and cold under an unshod foot let me tell you. I’m going to look for examples on the internet and although I’m a failure at linking I’ll let you know if I find some.
YES!!!! Search for MINTON TILED HALLWAY. There are some marvelous examples.
https://tse3.mm.bing.net/th?id=OIP.7WBDtrZfrcRYI4_FRDpBTQHaJ4&pid=Api&P=0&w=300&h=300
https://tse3.mm.bing.net/th?id=OIP.tiqVyWRBJBw7dW21S1kLTwHaE4&pid=Api&P=0&w=252&h=167
Oh JAY!!!! Thank you! What a lovely man you are…and a real gentleman🤗
Aren’t they gorgous?
They sure are. I want one but now the problem is where is it going to go. I’m sure wifey will find a spot if you can still get them.
I think you’d have to import if they are still available, or facsimiles. The Minton name referred to the designer. Don’t show your wife…that would guarantee you’d have a retirement project of a lifetime😉. But they are very wantable.
Too late, already forwarded her the links. She has the crud today so I abandoned any afternoon projects and stayed home in case she needed me. Made her chicken soup and wanted to cheer her up with the Minton floors. But you are right, I may be in trouble.
One time driving through Santa Fe I made the mistake to stop by a huge warehouse downtown. We ended up with several teak columns that came from Indian palaces and a marble table top.
Oh well, the columns integrated very nicely with our pergola.
Oh bless her, G. What a treasure she has in you. I am so sorry for her. Chicken soup is a wondrous cure. And delicious, if she can taste. But when one doesn’t feel like much, it really is the best.
I hope you searched the site on these floors for an absolute bonanza of beauty. I’d forgotten that there are actually some bright coloured tiles in many of the designs, some of which are beyond imagining. Ours was very basic with terracotta, oyster, and pale yellow.
Your find sounds wonderful. How on earth did you get them home? Shipped? But you made use of them obviously. I’m afraid in places like that I’d run amok. It would have been way worse had I been with you.
We brought some treasures back with is when we moved from some of the antique fairs that are run every weekend all over Britain. Plus some lovely collectibles from old stately homes which haven turned into antique havens.
Whether we bought or not, it was fun. To walk through on a weekend and too the day off with fish n chips sitting in our car listening to the radio .
I hope your bride feels better tomorrow and you stay well, G. My prayers are up for you both, plus Frank💓🙏 BetNM as usual.
Don’t know where my reply went but I want one.
I had one and loved it. Character, doncha know.😊
Yes and what they need is heat underneath so your feet stay warm.
Here, yes. But in Blighty when the tiles are in houses and buildings built well over a century ago, not possible. I guess that’s the price for having authenticity and character in a house the age of ours. I didn’t mind. It was the house of my dreams💓
I’m friends with a mason who’s a genius with brick, tile, stucco, rocks anything actually. He’s booked over a year out for custom work. 😉
Oh I’ll bet he is! There is an art to it and it takes an artist to lay properly. We had someone repair our leaning brick mailbox. A really lovely man who said that sort of masonry work was his first love. I do thank you for posting those two links😊B
Wow, thanks, jay!
😉
Thank you, jay!
jay has very kindly posted 2 excellent examples, G. One simple and one of the more elaborate ones. There are so many examples. And they are hand laid of course. Imagine starting with a bare floor and being artist enough to produce those!
I’ll be looking tonight.
👍😊
A couple of years ago, I was able to shed about 100 pounds using the Noom program. It was hard, but there were a few things I still do. I weigh every morning at exactly the same time. Your daily weight is an important early indicator particularly for fluid retention problems. I am not angry with my scale nor have I unfriended it. I would like to retire it, but I realize my weight problem was one that I must continue to fight, probably until there are no more battles to fight. It is just part of what my life is.
Good morning VB. Nor am I angry with mine. It was something I ran across which made me smile and I’d thought I’d share.
Good for you!! That is an achievement and I’m sure you feel better for it.
When I was living in Wales, I let things get way out of hand. But there is a phrase there which I came to love…take me as you find me. What people looked like mattered not one whit to those wonderful people. Fat, thin, balding, pretty, not pretty. Didn’t matter. So opposite to America’s superficial standards in their judging of others.
And I was happier than I’d ever been. But my husband took a picture of me out in front of our house and when I looked at it what I saw was a short fattish snowman. I knew I’d needed to take matters in hand.
And so started my weight loss journey. I NEVER said I was on a diet. I simply altered what I was eating….and most important for me I never said that I couldn’t eat this thing or that thing. I never denied myself outright, therefore ensuring that denial would make me want it all the more. Nope. I’d say simply I want whatever it was but not right now. I’ll have it later.
That approach worked for me, and over time I lost about 60 pounds. Not fast, not radical, but deliberate.
And I did use my scales every morning for encouragement while I was actively trying to lose weight. It wasn’t easy, but for those intrepid souls who start that journey I have nothing but admiration, as I do for you, sir.
Well done that lad, as we’d say in Wales. Bravo!😊
😂
Morning, G!!🤗💓 Here’s hoping you’re in the full swing of retirement now. Blessings to you, friend.
Mornin’ Betsy! See my post to you up thread. And blessings to you, dear sister! ❤️
Thank you🤗
Betsy – I posted yesterday afternoon – ewe’s not fat – ewe’s fluffy.
I think that will be a survival advantage when (if) food gets scarce.
And if it gets cold (due to heating failure) our extra insulation will stand us in good stead, too
Ha! All good points, ms idaho😊 Back then there was definitely much more to grab hold of. I hope it’s an “if” and not a “when”🙏!!
Betsy, just got back from a trip to HEB in Fredericksburg. Still pretty well stocked up. The only empty shelf that I saw was the Half&Half. Only 2 organic left. Grabbed one of them for wifey. Didn’t check the meat but the produce and fruit were OK. The grapes I got were from Peru.
Didn’t see any pears.
And of course, they’ve been out of tar coal shampoo for awhile, same in Walmart.
Good to know! I’m headed to my neighbourhood small Wal-Mart tomorrow. I’ll be doing a small shop and a reconnaissance. Here’s hoping (crossed fingers)!

That was 3 months ago. Is something happening now regard8ing vaxx mandates & govt benefits?
Howdy y’all! ( that’s Texan for: “g’day to you, mungrel” and “good morning” to the rest of you Treepers)
Howdy, LS! When we get down into the nitty-gritty of the Texan language y’all is singular, the plural is all y’all. 😀
Then there are words like bob wahr, fangers, etc. (translation for the Treepers not familiar – barbed wire, fingers). And then there are the regional dialects, like warshing machine (East Texas).
Have a blessed day.
hm. My family always used just “y’all” and we’ve been in Texas 200 years. But then I was taught to say “washing” and not “warshing” where I grew up in East Texas.
Blessings, GrandpaM
Ha,ha. Years ago I picked up a little book about the Texan language. It was named Don’t ask a man the size of his spread.
That’s where the singular and the plural came from.
I’ve been in Texas a few years North of 30 but having to deal with the public a lot In my business I’ve heard plenty of “warshing”.
Anyway, I was trying to be funny, or nit picking and hope that it didn’t come across the wrong way. BTW, wifey is a fifth generation Houstonian, they’re really hard to find. 🙂
Grr, that’s Not nit picking, I was on my phone.
No offense taken.
I am fifth generation from an area outside of Houston.
You are very kind. Houston sure has changed a lot. A couple of years ago we went to a conference in the Woodlands, a few months before the covid madness started. At one time we almost bought a house there and now couldn’t recognize the place.
GrandpaM, you and I have something in c0mmon – we’ve been sayin’ warsh and warshing machine for decades up here in Balamer (Baltimore). And Balamorons warsh their stuff with wooder.
In fact, a gentleman named Thom LaCosta documented much of the lexicon on a website….
http://www.baltimorehon.com
🙂
One of my mother’s cousins married an Episcopal priest and moved to Baltimore where they raised their family. When the cousins came to visit in the summer, we always got a big kick out of their Baltimore accent. One of the boys went to Ole Miss and then he had a Baltimore accent with a Southern drawl, if you can imagine.
😂
LOL!
Good morning, LS🤗 Seeing you here has brightened my day. Somewhere else, Mungrel is smiling as well. All blessings to you!
Well let the bald dog play with the fleas!
Goodaye to you Lonestar, if you look for pictures of outback Western Australia you will find the landscape remarkably similar to parts of Texas.
A good mate of mine went to Texas and always commented on the hospitality of Texans.
I’ve been to Australia, but only the Canberra area. Didn’t make it to the Outback as I didn’t want to spend all of my time there flying in airplanes. Australia is a big place, and I say that as a Texan.
Yep, I have travelled extensively here, hundreds of thousands of miles yet it seems sometimes I’ve seen so little !
Mate, I checked the MP1 and left a couple of replies right under Bet’s. Always wanted to go to Australia, especially during my scuba diving days but never did. But it will be even better to visit after we get rid of all the globalist scum, here and there. And maybe we can have a brew …or a case :).
I posted a few days ago but wifey very strongly suggested that I get on the wagon and I being a somewhat wiser now complied. But I think she’ll make an exception on the occasion of us defeting the global communist trash.
Cheers
I would be more than happy to escort you and wifey to some of the best scuba diving spots in the world, we might even poach a few giant crayfish or abalone or scollaps or,or,or, and if wifey don’t drink Wow what a win , we got a driver ! Yep definitely two cases 😜
LOL! Deal
We are something special, if I do say so myself😉💓
Amen, sister! 🙂
As pop said , the globalist scum must be defeated first and at all costs. 😒
Yes sir. They are ramping up at great speed now. Deadlines to meet apparently. They’ll not stop as they are truly being exposed. If they carry out their worst as I suspect they intend to…well, I can’t go there tonight. Take care, dear friend. Ill no doubt catch up with you tomorrow. B💓🙏
Had to share!!!!! I am the only unvaccinated person in my family.
My husband got it (Believe me I BEGGED him not to…). Dad (aged 92) got it. My three sisters and their husbands got it. (Even though one of my sister’s family all had covid and recovered before they were vaxed. (WUT?). All of my nieces and nephews and their spouses got it. All of my four children got it (even though my daughter got covid and recovered before she got the vax. (AGAIN, WUT!)
The only person I know in my family to not get the vax was a niece (Who had “survived” covid. ) At the time she was 6 months pregnant with twins. We talked a lot, as I also am a mom of twins. I asked her if she was thinking about getting vaccinated. She said, “No. I won’t risk my babies.” Healthy baby boys now 6 months old!!! I talked to her the other night and asked if she had changed her mind about being vaccinate and if she was considering getting the twins vaccinated….
”NO!”
SO VERY HAPPY!!!!!!
Deo gratias, Leenie!!!!!🙏
A thing to rejoice over💓 My first daughter had twins and my second daughter had triplets. I never knew but one set of twins as I was growing up, but now? So many multiples. I’m happy for you. Healthy and whole grandbabies! No greater joy🤗
Unfortunately, Healthy and whole “great nephews.” My sons and their wives were all vaxed. So maybe no grands for me. My oldest son and I had a conversation.: “What if you guys can’t get pregnant?” He said, “We adopt. We will have a family!”
God is good, leading us down the path that is our life. “Commit your ways unto the Lord, and put your trust in him…and He will bring it to pass.” ❤️
And who knows, Leenie? If they do adopt, they will be the adoring and loving answer to some child’s need for such parents. And God will have made it so. The tapestry threads are woven intricately. 🙏
Right before I tie my hands… in 1991 I had my first kids, twin boys. We were living in California while both my husband’s and my family were on the east coast. After the flurry of visits were over and my husband went back to work, it was me and the twins.
I had a good friend in town who had just had triplets. She was my sanity!!!! I would call her to moan and she would tell me about her day….reality check!!!!!!!!
“Misery”, which I define as lack of sleep and disappearance of self, loves company. Thank goodness it’s not for long. How fortunate for you to have a good friend in like circumstances.
My husband and I were still in the UK preparing to move back when we came over for a short visit and stayed to help with the twins for a bit. We took over the night waking and feedings. At one point in the middle of the night my daughter went to the boys’ room because of their crying. She was so wiped out that I’m sure she had forgotten we were there and was using the language of a well educated sailor. We shooed her back to bed and took it from there. The next day she said, “Mom, I apologize for my potty mouth. ” Understandable for a sleep deprived new mother of twins. The triplets were another story, and my daughter with those had a 2 year old as well.
So it’s no stretch for me to imagine how difficult it would be for just you and no help. I always remember my mother’s telling me that the days are long and the years are short. Never truer than those first few months of multiples.
But blessings? In spades! And neither daughter would change a single thing. I know you’re the same. 😊💓
Yes!!! The days crawl and the years fly!!! …And as my friend with the triplets (+ 2 more ) would tell about all the vacations and trips they took the kids on: “ Same shit, different venue! “. 😂
😂😂😂😂😂 They will have memories to last a lifetime💓
This is an update on the Canadian court challenge of the recent firearms ban. Potential good news.
Quip O’Day – Monday January 11, 2022 – A touch of Mark Twain
When I was a boy of 14, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be 21, I was astonished at how much the old man had learned in seven years.– Mark Twain
Shocking, isn’t it??😉
Anyone know how to embed a Rumble video here? Or a link to a Rumble video with an image?

A fast moving rock musical full of vax truth bombs:
Greetings Treepers!
I had to take a knee yesterday afternoon and up until now.
I broke out the ivermectin last night. JEESH.
I’m kinda duckin’ my head as I think (hopefully not with arrogance!) that I’ve turned the corner on this crud.
I’m 6’1”, and weigh 220. 62 years old.
I finally figured out that I need to double up on all supplements and meds.
Thanks for your prayer!
Pwomiss
Hi there, Frank. It’s been about 3-4 days, right? You should be on the tail end of the crud. Prayers continue.
Oh no…. Dang. Praying so, Frank. Our son and his wife are going through it again. He says he found an ivermectin source but has to find someone to fill it. Outside of Austin. Keep us up on your progress💓🙏
Horse paste works.
And the cow liquid. Well stocked before the madness began.
Prayers going out Frank……
Amen🙏
🙏
Take good care Frank, in Aussie lingo I’ll say “she’ll be right mate”.
Let us know how ya doin.
Cheers.
Oh no! Sorry I’m late to this Flyover….running back to rummage through the bin right now! 🙁
Sure enough…..found both of your comments, and they’re now posted. 😀
lilbirdee12’s prayer:
Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.
Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.
Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and his family as they seek to lead America back to You. Also, we pray for Angels to protect and support our Sundance as he works for justice and peace.
Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.
Spread blessings over Israel and Netanyahu.
We humbly ask that You please comfort those who are grieving and in pain.
Thank you Father, for Your Love and the gift of Life.
In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.
Amen
🙏
Amen.
Amen. And, Lord please comfort and relieve the political prisoners everywhere, those whose names we know, and those we don’t know, suffering for speaking their minds or in the case of the January 6 protesters, showing up to protest injustice
Amen.
The masses want coal https://www.marinelink.com/news/indonesia-eases-coal-export-ban-493347
Indonesian coal has been known to be some of the cleanest burning coal found on the planet, second to that is said to be the coal found in the national Grande Staircase Escalante monument in Utah – which that national monument was created by Clinton with no input from Utah or Utah’s representatives shortly after Clinton returned from a Presidential visit to Indonesia.
President Trump had the Interior department under his first term in office reduce the size of the national monument in Utah, also one of the first things Biden undid, again tying up the coal from being mined.
Glad to see Indonesia loosening up on exporting their coal. May Utah’s reserves be next in line!
Al Jazeera link about Boris Johnson’s 100-person eparty while the general population was locked down
In BJs defense he had already recovered from Covid? Even if so, the “elites” are not respectable. These “leaders” are disreputable
