According to numerous media reports, the jury in the Jussie Smollett fake hate crime case has reached a verdict.
The jury verdict is expected around 6:00pm EDT.

Actually, many felons have a later sentencing date and actually show up to that court date. Oftentimes, the “show date” to go to prison, is another date further out for which they must arrive on time to prison to begin their term of incarceration. This is SOP for felon sentencing. In this case he appears to be receiving standard protocol.

by my count, this defect, made 7 separate false statements under oath.
these false statements were deliberate…these were false statements intentionally manufactured to avoid accountability for the primary fraud he committed.
these statements were made to police and several were made under oath in the court.
this means, to me, that his sentencing should receive a proportional aggravating sentencing guideline.
when one commits a crime, that is one criminal act.
when on willfully commits other crimes to avoid prosecution those are aggravating crimes that pose a direct threat to the rule of law and the courts.
as the saying goes…it wasn’t the crime…it was the coverup.

Jussie’s gonna appeal. He’s gone too far to turn back, apparently, which feels like a lot of things we’re dealing w/these days, such as vaccines and so much more. When a lot of people make a claim and keep repeating it over and over and over again, they become more and more invested in what they’ve said to be true, or at least have the veneer of truth. It’s hard to pull back from that. Although I think in the case of leftists, there’s a powerful agenda apart from that psychological phenomenon.
But in some situations I would imagine that even if a person allowed a sliver of truth to break through the narrative, they would slam the door shut immediately because they simply could not allow themselves to dare question what they’ve been saying for so long. I guess that’s cognitive dissonance.

All of this was, of course, very politically driven. I wish the prosecutor in this case had done investigation of and exposed the politicians directly connected to this. One politician was Biden. Another was Harris. And perhaps they did. I saw no sign of bargaining on his team’s side and they went full “not guilty” to the very end. Under such loser circumstances, accepting a deal would be typical unless he was protecting other parties involved.
I was commenting to others about this and how much damage this actually does to race relations and to political relations in the country. The Democrat party runs almost exclusively on “the other party is evil! we will protect you!” LOADS of black Trump supporters see through that ruse. But others do not and have been raised on a steady diet of mistrust, hate and lies. Those who already believed in Smollett’s fiction probably still cling to some degree of belief in it. (How many hate hoaxes have been committed in order to bring attention to “the problems of racial hate which goes unreported?”)
We need more black Trump supporters.

The verdict only took 8 hours to reach. That menas maybe 2-4 hours was spent d eliberatng with the rest spent reading the judges jury instructions.
