Florida Governor Ron DeSantis spoke on the inland side of Tampa Bay today as he announced a $276 million state program to support flood and sea level rise mitigation. The funds are one part of a comprehensive state level infrastructure program to support the incredible growth within Florida.
Even without a state income tax Florida is taking in historic revenue from growth. That revenue is being used to build up emergency reserve funds in the event of storms or severe tropical weather impacts, at the same time funds are being used to proactively develop systems to mitigate flooding events at the coastal and inland regions.
During the second half of his remarks today, Governor DeSantis also contrast and reaffirmed his position on the principles of respect for individual rights of all Florida citizens and pushed-back against the need for government intervention or mandates around COVID. Essentially DeSantis recommended that other state governors stop doing stupid stuff. WATCH:
They’re just 1 governor away from losing it all. And their two US Senators are untrustworthy, at best.
Pray for Florida……. it’s the last bastion of freedom within what was once upon a time, the last bastion of freedom.
It scares me too GW. DS can’t get that state military unit started soon enough. Believe me the political elite/left cannot tolerate this. DS is like the unvax’d, he’s essentially a control group which reflects what can be achieved in the absense of “mass formation.”
Great video….will cost you some time but afford you some understanding!!

Still trying to figure out Nancy Piglosi’s satellite office (only in Florida ) for Capital Police. The democrat Klobuchar brought it up in the IG hearings today. They definitely have some secret plan going on with that.
They have no choice. Its written in “The Constitution of the State of Florida” Article X Section 2
It is everyones duty according to the Constitution of the United States. The federal government just wants you to believe you don’t have jurisdiction…but you do!
Republican voter registration recently surpassed dems in FL for first time ever and the Gov cleaned out the main election fraudsters.
While I agree the 2 Senators are untrustworthy and I appreciate the prayers for our state, there are a bunch of places that need prayers more than FL.
Florida came within inches of getting a Black Homosexual Crack Addict as governor. I wouldn’t brag too loudly!
For some of us elsewhere like Oklahoma, no brag, just thankful for that miss!
Why did you feel it necessary to throw in the fact that he is black?
Why not? That is one of the intersectional qualifications that the libs value.
Because he is?..(duh)
Why not? It’s true!
Maybe because the media did, during the campaign ?
Yeah, Gillum was another Soros plant.
That whole fiasco was a massive cheat effort that almost worked. We have to be very vigilant in Florida.
Don’t care about the first two; care deeply about the Crack Addict part.
Please, please don’t remind me! And, yes, the Cuban community saved the day with one of our own! So dang proud of this man.
DeSantis is of Italian descent. DeSantis is an Italian surname.
YOu came close to getting another governor in Ca. too…Too bad for the country it didn’t go that way.
Yeah, I hope the Cuban community can give us someone better than Little Marco.
Believe me, we did.
The cuban community in fla is really the only hope they have, except for Rubio. Why isnt he getting a strong primary challenge? I assure you he will be no different then the rest after he has cemented another six years.
#RoutOutRubio2022 > Let’s Go Kayleigh !
“Untrustworthy?” More like up to their eyeballs in the lucrative swamp slime.
I am very proud of how our Governor has stood up to the leftist cultural mob. But you are right – we need more than a single personality to stand up and preserve the freedoms of Floridians. We need our freedoms institutionalized, beyond the reach of the ebbs and flows of any political trend de dies. Some would say that’s what the U.S. and State of Constitutions provide, but I see thousands of rules, regulations, edicts, interpretations, and orders from all branches of our Government (particularly Federal) erode and even bypass those documents. And I see our cultural norms, behaviors, and pressures do the same.
Once deSantis is gone, what will separate Florida from any other conservative-ish state?
Tremendous story from the Bee- DeSantis leads the Florida military to liberate the unvaccinated from German concentration camps.

Merkel was/is an East German. She salivates this stuff.
I thought Merkel lost the election? OMG, these wackos can lose and still be in charge!
Believe she is in until the end of the year.
The German government has a problem getting a government together with the a coalition of another party.
While faking her past.
Send them to Auz to liberate the Aborigines from the Covid camps. Lets Roll!
I would not hit a hog in the ass with that newspaper.
Sure miss this amount of concern in my neighboring state. My governor did good except for the cheating. Never said a word until made to. Its was definitely do there. That is the CHEATING! Where you at?
You’re governor ain’t coming; especially if he’s corrupt already. Perhaps he lacks courage and DS may help with that. This terrifies the left/TPTB and why I am certain they will try and set something up. Have to hope DS can power through; he could be the ultimate game changer.
Why are rational guys like DeSantis so rare?
Scruples…
I lived in west palm beach florida for 3 years it was to expensive for the pay, the summers were way to hot and lot of new yorkers and new jersey people live there. All i will say about new yorkers is there is a reason sterotypes exist. Lots of homeless or pretend homeless panhandlers l. Florida has some really weird people and now that its attracting even more people no…..
The grass isnt always greener its always been a nice place to visit but wouldnt want to live there. However at least the governor is sane but they are not above electing jerks for governors.
As Communist Democrats would say… Still better than the other 52 states!! Lol…lol…lol…
The other 56 states if I recall correctly per Barry Soetoro.
PBCo. True. Yankees True. I only spent 28 years over there. But you lived/worked on the wrong side of the state. You won’t see bums panhandling on the medians and in front of the stores in SWFL.
Here’s the decoder key for non-Florida people…
1) If the people come down I-95, stay away from where they are going.
2) If the people come down I-75, You can proceed with the body search.
Tampa and the I-4 corridor is a special case. If they pull off on those exits ready your Panzerfaust.
Not true anymore. Panhandlers at every intersection now in Ft Myers area.
They have been shut down.
Florida is a big state. My folks lived in central Florida for 15 years and never once went to West Palm Beach or Miami. Where they lived it was very quiet and much lower cost compared to the coasts. They lived a bit south of The Villages, just below I-4.
So you judge the whole state of FL based on west palm beach and you judge all the people of NY state based on people from NYC. Ok.
As someone who’s lived in different parts of both states, I don’t agree with that at all.
20 years ago we stayed at a Club Med in Punta Cana. There were many New Yorkers acting as New Yorkers. Berating staff, complaining loudly about anything and everything. Being from the Eastern Shore we were gracious and appreciative, and so were our children. We always chatted with the staff, they ALL wanted to brush up and learn English. One day the pool guy asked us “what is it with the people from the country of New York”. We had a really good laugh. Upstate NY and it’s inhabitants, once you get away from the I95 crowd, is a crown jewel. It’s a broad brush but real life.
It is truly amazing how politically different people are in different parts of blue states.
I’ve lived in NY, Ga and Jersey; moved to FL in 1973.
FL has always been terrific. We love it. As for the people in each place? Nice all over. And bad scattered all over.
I’ll take the sun, palms, and heat any time.
You should have tried NE/NC FL..cost of living is low and people are normal.
Either the feds will destroy him or he the feds.
In a nutshell.
We are going to destroy the feds, and you can help @ TacticalCivics.com/Video
In a land of the blind, the one eyed man is king.
And DeSantis actually has two eyes.
Husband kills himself, his wife and their three young girls after he faked a Covid jab certificate and feared his children would be taken away when it was discovered
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10284389/German-husband-kills-wife-three-young-girls-faked-jab-certificate.html
My goodness, I just love to hear Ron DeSantis speak. He is so refreshing.
I wish Gov. Lee (TN) could find the same fortitude.
Exactly!! Governor Lee is such a disappointment. But at least I live out in the country. Nashville, Knoxville, Memphis are the pits.
So right!
I especially liked his use of the term “Fauci-ism.” It’s been around, of course, forever, but I’ve never heard it used before to such great effect. As a matter of fact, at this stage of this historic debacle, no single word better encapsulates the insanity of our era than this term. It will undoubtedly endure well into future decades when the world reflects on all the deplorable abuses of power carried out by Fauci and his raving- mad, leftwing cohorts, here and abroad.
I can’t put the nickname I gave him on here. Nobody else came up with my name for him.
But I respect CTH’s rules not to use it. Starts with an f. Use your imagination.
I can imagine a nickname beginning with f that you might not want to express on this site. My nick for him is Dr Falsie.
DeSantis preparing for incompetent/non-existent federal emergency response
Typical unhappy bureaucracies are very good at conspicuous slowness, near incompetence, poor command & control, collaboration snafus, random under-staffing, funding shortfalls, etc. Seen this deployed at state, federal & military levels to great success.
More like preparing to say NO to Fed strings for aid when needed
It always comes with a catch.
Any updates on how his wife is doing? I feel like he is the type of man who would step out of politics if his presence was needed by his family…which is just another reason to pray for a quick and complete recovery for Casey DeSantis!
Amen, yes we Pray for Casey DeSantis oh Lord we ask you to heal Casey DeSantis.
Ohhhhhhh yay!!!!!! One elected official says what America is supposed to be
Yay …..SMFH
Wake up people whoop de do. Sad when Americans find leadership in this for their own rights. 🤷🏼♂️ It all comes down to you not leaders.👊
Say What?
“For our own rights”?? Are the not “Rights”? I’m somewhat confused as to what your intended meaning was in the comment.
I live in Florida and it is great. DeSantis is doing a fantastic job and he always seems to be a step ahead of the crowd. His focus on the disaster mitigation infrastructure is just an example of something that will have a significant impact on many things from insurance costs to saving lives. I have not worn a mask since June and it seems things are back to normal. I will say that I have seen businesses that have been here for 30 or 40 years finally close down because they could not get enough people to come to work.
Yes, due to Biden’s welfare payments, workers are harder to come by these days. Crazy that some states purposely removed their first responders and those who had worked throughout the entire plandemic.
How stupid is that?
Just about as stupid as defunding the cops and encouraging mass looting and arson.
Not sure about many other states but in Florida, before the Scamdemic, a common sight was older people in the workplace (after 65 you can work all you want and not have your Social Security docked). I believe once 15 days to stop the spread closed down lots of business, and then all the stupid workplace practices put in place by stupid businesses (even after DeSantis removed these requirements) these workers elected to not return because they really did not need the cash. This I believe is a bigger contributor to worker shortages in Florida than any welfare payment/un-employment payment.
Totally untrue. Perhaps you should research before you post again. read this:

Who is Gov. Ron DeSantis’ protégés. We need him to be training several in his image.
We are going to need at least 52 more!
Here is how to get them: TacticalCivics.com/video
Florida has a huge problem with beach erosion every year. The sand has washed so far out from shore, it’s difficult, and costly, to find enough to replenish the beaches now.
Much of the erosion is occurring near inlets and ports due to the ongoing
fiasco’s of the Army Corp of engineers “improvements”. They almost improved
the Everglades out of existence.
TRUE.
Beach erosion is the LEAST of our worries.
It’s like I have said before we need the grass roots to take back the country from the bottom up, more states need leaders like Florida has. One at a time we need to throw the bums out and crush the DC cartel.
I like your thinking. Now is the time to act on your thinking: TacticalCivics.com/video
Not just buy American, BUY FLORIDIAN!
A lot of items that normally come from California are now showing up in Florida forsale. I suppose this is from ships being rerouted to the east coast ports. I will buy items sold from Florida if I need something. The Red states need to support each other, starve the blue states of our hard earned money. Pelosi is trying to steal it anyway hook or crook via salt deductions.
Sunpass — driving tax. Mine was averaging $75+ per month. I love Florida but I hate Sunpass fees. Just sayin’
Take a different route. You can still get there. Sunpass is on express lanes on the I95, don’t take the Turnpike.
Since they got rid of the toll collectors and made it Sunpass only, I no longer use the toll road.
DeSantis has to know that the Climate Change Hoax is just another moneymaker for the Democrats!
Speaking from central heartland, Oklahoma…
Our Gov Stitt appointed a new commander of our National Guard who said our state would not comply with a vaccine mandate.
Of course, the Pentagon jumped in against that.
Our governor is not as well known as DeSantis, but he’s done some good things.
I stay in touch with his office on a regular basis, bringing up issues and asking about contingency plans about certain issues facing our state.
Their response has been awesome.
I have also been in touch with FL’s gov office, reaching across state borders.
This may shock CTH readers, but I have been in touch with Joe Manchin’s office to encourage him not to cave in to his party.
Most of you here would know why.
Get out there and let your voice be known, even if it crosses your state and political lines.
Be polite and courteous.
Your input is needed in many places.
We are in this boiling pot together.
The kitchen is hot, but a good place to be when you’re cooking stew on the right burner.
FL has some warts. I’ve lived in different cities of FL for over 25 yrs. I came from Illinois which by comparison had heart failure. I have not been back to the Chicago area for over 10 yrs and don’t plan on ever visiting that cesspool again. Good luck to the IL Lottery Winners that received IOU’s- and if you think I’m kidding look it up.
The State of FL is in the black. States like IL, NY, NJ, CA, and so many others don’t operate like FL. They have massive bureaucracies and large Unions bogging them down and they are all bankrupt. High risk bonds like IL can get you 15% interest IF it will get paid. FL bonds are 4%. Sorry but it’s low risk because you know FL can pay you back.
The NY lawyers wrecked the FL legal system over the past 20 yrs and personal injury protection + homeowners insurance scams run NY-style are wrecking the state intentionally. The massive litigation brought to FL from these people and the sudden massive influx of South American culture has brought real challenge. Amazingly, the ambiguously gay druggie Democrat gov candidate (Andrew Gillum) that the Clintons brought into the state lost by a half percent. Otherwise FL would have total tyranny that you see in most other states. If you think there is any hyperbole please do some research.
When I was a young man, peeps in the Chicago area sounded much like New Yorkers, laughing about all the criminal politicians. I never understood why the dysfunction was considered humorous. But I can laugh at a single Floridian who makes the news for insane actions. Why? Because it’s a one-off. Yes, there will be more one-offs. But it’s not exactly the same as Systemic corruption that peeps just grin and bear.
It remains to be seen if DeSantis can survive the coming onslaught. FL now has problems (that are fixable) such as homeowners insurance but the Democrats are trying to ruin the State. The DNC is going to bring all of its might against the FL Gov and we shall see if he can survive it.
Yep. Yep. Yep. Insurance – homeowner’s in particular is legal racketeering. And underwriting blames “Contractor’s lobby”. 🙄
I can think of many ways The Junta could prevent the rise of DeSantis, including tactics they used to prevent the MAGA tsunami of 2020 from being verified. As there has been virtually no push-back nor accountability for their fascist crimes, there is no reason to believe The Junta won’t succeed again. Sad.
Until Florida throws out Dominion, we are all at risk.
Check the state Dept. of Elections website – in all of Florida we use paper ballots – no touch screen voting machines. https://dos.myflorida.com/elections/voting-systems/about-voting-systems/
AND, they count the absentee, mailin ballots first – before the In Person votes – so no one can ‘make up’ the difference after the fact.
Florida State flags are available at Annin & Company. I replaced the flag I fought under and my son died under with them at the ranch last week. Like leaving the Catholic Church because they screwed up and taught me to be a Christian. Beliefs and actions trump labels.
I get it. I too have changed my perspective – I am a Floridian first and and American second for the time being.
“The inland side of Tampa Bay” 🤔 To a local that sounds a bit like a Yank tourist who says, “Let’s go see the ocean”. 🤪 Wrong side of the State 😆
#TeamRon
“Inland side of Tampa Bay” IOW, far away from St Pete.
Hopefully not for a decade after Trump clear-cuts DC…
Neither of them will be your savior. No President has the power alone to “gut” DC. – But collectively WE do. It won’t take much effort. And for America?…well, she’s worth it.
TacticalCivics.com/video
DeSantis is offering reasonable solutions to a very chaotic federal government.
Hopefully others follow.
COMMON SENSE!
Money to fight sea level rise? Excuse me? I love DeSantis, but has he really bought into the climate change con? 17 years ago Al Gore said I’d be under 20 ft of water by now. The Gulf of Mexico is right where it was then.
