Interesting developments that add a more fulsome context to the Axios report about alternative Tech platforms earlier in the day.
Several news outlets are now reporting that Congressman Devin Nunes (R-CA) will exit his congressional seat at the end of this month and take a position as CEO of the newly formed Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG).
Many people are wondering why hire a congressman and not a technology expert. To wit, I would say Trump’s not hiring a congressman. It looks to me like he’s hiring a professional with specific expertise in the intelligence arena.
If you think about the bigger battleground, a technology CEO with subject matter expertise in the U.S. intelligence system is a skillset to be appreciated.
NY Post – Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.), a prominent ally of former President Donald Trump, will leave Congress at the end of this month to head up Trump’s new social media company.
Trump Media & Technology Group announced the appointment of Nunes as CEO in a Monday evening statement.
“The time has come to reopen the Internet and allow for the free flow of ideas and expression without censorship,” Nunes was quoted as saying. “The United States of America made the dream of the Internet a reality and it will be an American company that restores the dream. I’m humbled and honored President Trump has asked me to lead the mission and the world class team that will deliver on this promise.”
Trump described Nunes in the statement as “a fighter and a leader” who “will make an excellent CEO of TMTG.”
“Devin understands that we must stop the liberal media and Big Tech from destroying the freedoms that make America great,” the 45th president added. “America is ready for TRUTH Social and the end to censorship and political discrimination.” (read more)
This announcement follows an interesting sequence of events (citation links in the dates):
♦ October 20 – Donald Trump announces the basic outline of Truth Social, an upstart social media system for MAGA supporters. The financing would come through Digital World Acquisition Group (DWAC). Shares of DWAC skyrocket after the announcement.
♦ October 24 – CTH receives a tip that Patrick Byrne is investing $1 million in Locals (launched by Dave Rubin Dec 2019)
♦ October 26 – Rumble and Locals announce they are merging into one company. Rumble purchases Locals.
♦ November 02 – Rumble announces they are relocating the company HQ to Florida.
♦ December 01 – Rumble announces an IPO through Cantor Fitzgerald.
♦ December 04 – Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG) announce $1+ billion raised in private equity, through Digital World Acquisition Group (DWAC).
♦ December 06 – Axios writes article about rise of “right-wing” social media infrastructure. Focuses on financial aspects.
♦ December 06 – SEC opens an investigation of the equity fundraising through DWAC. “Trading of Digital World’s shares has driven TMTG’s valuation from $875 million in October to close to $4 billion.”
♦ December 06 – Devin Nunes is announced as CEO of Trump Media & Technology Group.
♦ December 06 – Rumble announces a deal with TMTG through Cantor Fitzgerald. “Howard Lutnick, the CEO of Rumble’s parent company Cantor Fitzgerald, stated on Monday that they have worked out a distribution deal with Donald Trump’s planned “Truth” social media platform.” … “Truth and the 45th president are going to use Rumble’s infrastructure, their technology, their cloud distribution capability, so they are going to be a service provider, a tech provider to the president’s Truth Social,” Lutnick told interviewer John Bachman on his “John Bachman Now” show.
Great. So in essence, Trump Media will use the tech architecture of Rumble. There will be a partnership.
That’s the sequence of events as to how these two networks (Rumble & TMTG) came into the position they are now. Let me say with clarity and emphasis, I want to see these platforms succeed. I will support, as we do already, each and every platform against the interests of Big Tech, and I will encourage all Treepers to support each platform. That said, there’s something in this timeline that looks disconcerting to me:
- Patrick Byrne invests in Locals.
- Locals merges with Rumble.
- Rumble goes into an IPO with Cantor Fitzgerald
- Trump forms TMTG.
- TMTG Raises funds from private equity ($1 billion+ DWAC)
- SEC investigates TMTG equity funds from DWAC.
- TMTG announces Devin Nunes CEO
- Cantor Fitzgerald announces Rumble will partner with the newly formed TMTG.
This is the sequence of events.
The Axios article and SEC moves on same day point to someone on the inside of the organizational network (TMTG/Rumble) tipping off someone outside. And the people they are tipping off are not good characters. This is someone deep enough inside this newly forming media/tech operation to walk media and government insiders through the plans and funding sources, and trigger those simultaneous responses.
If you see that pattern, stay with me.
The next logical question is to ask who and how?
From my perspective, there is one big glowing worm in this new social media operation.
Byrne engages with NRA, NRA comes under federal investigation….
Byrne engages with Donald Trump Jr, DJT Jr. comes under federal investigation…
Byrne engages with Sidney Powell, Powell comes under federal investigation…
Byrne engages with audit groups, audit groups come under federal investigation…
Byrne engages with TMTG, TMTG comes under federal investigation…
Oddly enough, Byrne never comes under federal investigation; only the people he touches….
Patrick Byrne.
Stop me if you see a pattern.
And let’s not forget the Friday night meeting at the White House (Powell, Flynn, Byrne, Cipollone, Meadows, Guiliani) which surfaced in the New York Times via leaks the next morning (Saturday), and then Byrne using Twitter the following day (Sunday) to post pictures of himself at the White House and frame a story of the meeting.
Consider yourself warned.
Eject the Fed.
I’m sure President Trump and Chairman Nunes are well aware of the potential risks. Also, I have zero insider knowledge and only work from what data points are publicly visible, and Byrne as a DC operative is educated conjecture on my part {supported here}. That said, this wouldn’t be his first rodeo, and sunlight is the best disinfectant.
Byrne claims to have been used by the FBI to offer a bribe to Clinton to entrap her. He speaks of it openly.
In the recent leaks by Lin Wood of Patrick Byrnes phone call with him, Byrne alludes to this arrangement with the FBI, how he had some kind of special status with the FBI and federal government.
When discussing Sidney Powell, Byrne does mention the poor accounting, and he intimates that he tipped off the authorities.
If Byrne was an informant, does that mean he is automatically already a node for harvesting data by the NSA? Does FISA automatically apply to Byrne and all his dealings?
Byrne is certainly a central node in the wider election integrity movement and is personally financing much of it. His buddy and mentor was Buffett and he was previously supposedly a member of the CFR.
There is certainly a disinfo campaign running hard against Byrne (and his teams or networks), and he says himself he has dealings with insiders.
We need a lot more diversity than Rumble, Locals, Truth Social. We need a full on freedom oriented infrastructure.
Nunes, is a patriot, a successful family farmer in California (this is actually a significant achievement), somehow manages to straddle MAGA/TRump, and the establishment GOP, and must know almost as much as Trump about the realities about the landscape.
We need to remember, the NSA has god-like (notice the small g) powers to see anything and everything. Nunes knows the true nature of the players, organizations and networks. He has hitched his wagon to Trump’s. Nunes and Trump’s destinies are intertwined.
The Flynn brothers and Byrne have a working partnership right now.
We need to work with what we have, no one is perfect. Is Byrne a systematic wrecking ball, I doubt it, is he connected to the FBI and the establishment, he says he is by his own admission.
“previously supposedly a member of the CFR.”
nope – current long time member

Interesting sDee, Bryne is certainly an establishment figure, if somewhat eccentric and libertarian.
Has he fooled the Flynn brothers? I doubt it. Is he imperfect, for sure.
But, sunlight, more sunlight
My understanding—and I’m not positive about this, but it makes sense imo—is that Byrne was (or is, although I think he’s basically inactive at this point) a CFR member specifically because he was the CEO of Overstock. He was building and maintaining a successful business that sourced products from all over the world while going up against tough competition throughout the years as he worked to keep Overstock profitable. The CEO of a company like this will probably be a member in some of these sorts of groups, as he simply needs all the connections and advantages he can get in that situation. It’s similar to how Trump would go the NYC social events and schmooze with rich lefties like the Clintons and various local Dems.
Byrne may still be a CFR member in the sense that they have no reason to expel him and he’s probably not going to renounce the membership (because that wouldn’t do any good and it would just create unwanted attention). However, I don’t think he’s been involved in any meaningful way for some time (likely since leaving Overstock). I’ve also read that the current CEO is basically going to all these events now and, for all practical purposes, it’s like the membership transferred to the new CEO, even though Byrne seems to remain on the official list. Again, I have no way to confirm this, but it seemed pretty credible to me. I rarely find these sorts of revelations about somebody with a high-level business or political career belonging to an organization or society associated with some sketchy people or a bad history to be the sort of damning evidence or big deal that many people seem to assume.
Successful CEOs and politicians and various power players around the world belong to these groups and attend these events to network, fundraise, make deals, even just to have a fun time in some instances. Even if the group itself is specifically connected to something nefarious, it’s often just some of the people at the top and not an all-encompassing conspiracy that wraps up everyone on the membership list in whatever questionable or downright unethical acts some of these people get involved with.
Remember, many of the Founders were Masons. These kinds of “elite” organizations/clubs for the rich and powerful have been around for a VERY long time and they are really just resources that contain significant power and that can be used, like most forms of power, for good or evil, depending on who’s using it and how and why. Sure, there’s an element of “playing with fire” when that occurs, but you also can’t just ignore the advantages and opportunities theses sorts of groups provide for business relationships and dealmaking, political connections and backing or even things like raising money and gaining support for philanthropic causes. George Washington was a Freemason over 200 years ago. If we’re cool with that, and I certainly don’t have any problem with it, we might want to give a bit more latitude in this regard to modern-day patriots with money, power and influence who have associations that seem ominous or suspicious, but also simply provide them with invaluable access to what’s basically a massive networking coalition of the richest, most influential people around.
“The Flynn brothers and Byrne have a working partnership right now.”
Eat your heart out PoS Lyin’ Paul Ryan.
I read where Cali’s redistricting has put Nunes’ seat in a Dem majority area now.
Yes. They basically split his current district putting him directly now in conflict with McCarthy with . He would have to run against McCarthy for the GOP seat if he wanted it. He made a good decision to get out now, I’m just not sure this is a good spot for him. i don’t trust the Feds and I foresee real issues with the Feds involving themselves. Nunes better keep his head on a swivel at this position there are going to be backstabbing actors involved.
As for this area, we are really getting screwed as Nunes’ western part of his current district is being absorbed in Valadao’s. That is for sure going Dem now. All liberal areas. Valadao was a waste anyway. There will be some very sketchy candidates for that seat and they will win because the voters are not that bright.
I can’t stand McCarthy. As far as I’m concerned Conservative voters in Fresno have zero voice now going forward. it’s all Uniparty crap.
Byrne is a confirmed Fed informant so Byrne being admitted into the Trump’s inner circle is likely to be filed as yet another example of PDJT poor judgement.
As his story went, Byrne wrote of getting into a large staff/advisor meeting (in Dec 2020 iirc) on the coattails of Michael Flynn where he had a brief exchange with the President. Byrne later wrote of a second meeting with Trump in Florida being arranged, but he was turned away by security.
So how exactly did Patrick Byrne get past the Secret Service for what has to be one of the most pivotal decision points in the history of the nation?
Garrett Ziegler got them in.
PDJT has got us where we are now in terms of who the really bad actors are.. I’ll stick with his judgements..
🇺🇸💪👍
One recalls the story Nunes told of his first meeting with Mr Trump, which was during the 2016 campaign. Nunes was being interviewed at home by a friend/local radio guy in Nunes’ hometown in front of a hometown crowd, after the truth of the Russia Hoax had been exposed.
Nunes said he was quite skeptical of Mr Trump, having never met nor knew anything about Mr Trump. Nunes wasn’t certain what to think of this wacko guy who kept wanting to show Nunes’ his private plane and was worried about his clean shirt.
The entire story was quite entertaining. How far things have progressed in just a few short years. Were one less lazy one would search for the link and share it.
Telling that Pres Trump has stayed with Nunes all this time. Quite encouraging.
I like Trump and he does choose fighters well.
Nunes is not CEO caliber though. He may get it off the ground with his anti-media bias but long lasting, idk.
Hope I am wrong.
PS Always wondered why there is not another FOX?
Let’s see who/how oppose it.
I’m gonna pray that God will bless what Trump is doing.
That God will give him favor and power with men.
What Trump is trying to is good and it’s in direct opposition to that evil cohort in Washington DC.
Everyone should do as Sundance has advised support anyway we can this ongoing effort by Trump.
You do know that one of the goals of this evil regime is to turn this country into a Godless society banning Christian gatherings and eventually persecute followers of Christ.
I haven’t trusted Patrick Byrne when he spoke of working with the intelligence agencies to engage with the Russian operative…remember way back when? I don’t remember the lady’s name, but I didn’t care for his story back then, and while I have listened to him and watched his activities, I haven’t and still don’t trust him. Something smells funny.
Nunes gave it the old college try.
I appreciate that about him.
But something happened after the ethics suspension,
and he was knee deep in opposing the deep state.
They got to him, I think.
He never would quite “go there”anymore, like his trajectory had established.
He will be great at whatever position he’s in under PDJT.
This article states:
” ♦ October 24 – CTH receives a tip that Patrick Byrne is investing $1 million in Locals ”
Dave Rubin and Patrick Byrne announced Patrick had invested in Locals when Patrick was on Rubin Report way back in January as you can see at 28:42 of this video.
Could be. Good sleuthing
