Oregon Governor Kate Brown recently dropped all reading, writing and math proficiency standards for high school graduation, because she claimed it was unfair to “people of color” for them to have to pass tests in order to graduate {Go Deep}. Expecting black, brown and latino students to comprehend math and write in coherent sentences is racist – or so goes the policy. Governor Brown also mandated that masks continue be worn indoors and outside regardless of vaccine status (link).
Historically, there has been a solid argument that leftism is a mental disorder; at least the vast majority of those who espouse leftist worldviews do -indeed- appear to have some cognitive impairment the vast majority of non-leftist people do not relate to. Slowly, as the years have progressed, it is now entirely possible to look at a person and predict their political persuasion.

Washington was always a purple state – Seattle and its suburbs went Center-Left but the rest of the state was Libertarian and Conservative so it stayed fairly evenly balanced…but as the election laws got looser the outcomes went further and further left.
It started to take forever to get results from King County and “somehow” the totals on the last day would flip the race to the Democrat, every single time! The Rossi-Gregoire debacle in 2004 was the coup de grace and the Washington State Republican Party totally botched the challenge, although the media was partly to blame as well as they absolutely refused to even look at all of the obvious irregularities. (They did the same thing in 2000 when Maria Cantwell defeated incumbent Senator Slade Gorton because of 13,000 votes that just “appeared” in King County -I talked with Michael Fancher, the editor of the Times and he flat out laughed and said they were NOT going to look into where those votes came from or do ANY stories about them!)
First thing Chris Gregoire did was push for all mail-in elections and the state has gone HARD Left ever since – Wyman was a RINO at best (and probably worse) and now we are stuck with a power hungry idiot in Olympia and D majorities in both the Senate and House, along with SJWs on the Supreme Court.

I pulled out my copy of Thoreau’s “WALDEN” the other day thinking I would like to re-read it one again.
The idea of quiet, stillness and finding a place for retrospect and thinking has been on my mind for the last few weeks if not months.
It is hard to do and harder yet to find the time to go somewhere and be alone which for some reason many do not like or want to do.
We were not able to go up into the mountains this summer and do our thing like we usually do because of my husbands back surgery and I missed it very much.
Finding a place to camp (park our RV) and get away from TV, phones, computers etc and just chill for at least a week at a time.
Maybe next year.
