About 30 years ago I spent a short stint in the county jail. Anyway, they gave me some interesting books to read. To this day I am still trying to track some of them down.
One book was about the military fight in the Philippines during WW2. The part that really stuck with me is the U.S. generals there who led from the front. They would literally lead the charge.
But hasn’t it always been that we get generals who are actually politicians until the time comes when we need an actual soldier to be put forward to defend our nation and win a war?
Where does that leave us, without such leaders, if we continue this perpetual time of “peace”?
Are we doomed to slow death by mediocrity without war to awaken and bring forth the great alpha males who have always been the protectors and creators of civilization?

That was my guess too. I posted about Idaho a couple of days ago. First we had nurses and other hospital staff protesting mandatory jabs. Then Monday (as I recall) our dear guv announced he’s calling in the National Guard and some outside help for our overrun hospitals.
I’ll bet the Nurses are fuming.

Long before Covid, this hospital was short of staff — nurses and other staff.
And rumor among people who had left was that BMH was exceedingly kind to an office staffer who had embezzled tends of thousands of dollars… but brutal to the housekeeping staff, and never enough nurses on the floors for some reason that probably had to do with HR attitude.
So if they run the place by “Pentagon Rules” maybe National Guard is the way to staff? Dunno, but if they don’t have enough people it quite possibly has to do with the way they have hires and fired —
When traveling nurses are making upwards of $100 an hour, local facilities can not retain or maintain their staffing levels.

I used to have that problem. Finding stainless steels that don’t act magnetic in a strong magnetic field. 316L was reputed to be least magnetic. Never got my hands on that, but 316 usually did OK.
I can’t tell you the number of people who disbelieved me when I told them I couldn’t use their choice because it was magnetic. But it was pretty easy to show them moving because of a strong permanent magnet.
Mostly it is a mistaken perspective. Not nearly as magnetic as pure iron is usually still magnetic.

I am so frustrated reading the news each day. We need a leader to promote a workable plan that will coalesce the many. It is obvious that we must take action now as time is truly running out. The $1.8 billion bill was passed by the Texas Senate yesterday. The bill will allow Governor Abbott to build more than 700 miles of border wall. The bill, H.B. 9, was passed by a 23-8 vote after numerous changes were made from the House version.

How to isolate a covid patient if you have central heating and A/C.
Use a room with an outside window. Partially open the window, block the return air, and turn on the fan on the a/c system, so the air flows out the window instead of recirculating through the a/c system. If the return air flows under the door use a towel to block the space.
I am only claiming this is better than, social distancing in the same space.
I have much experience designing and installing air flow systems for exhaust, supply and filtration to protect people from nasty chemical vapors and fumes.

So my employer decided tbose employees not vaxxed must get tested weekly. Called the local hospital. No testing unless you think you have covid or need a doctor note to return towrk. They said call the county health department. Same answer. And we can’t do home tests.
