The other day on this site I spoke briefly with someone who thought that some people were being unfairly blamed for their type 2 diabetes and also weight issues.
I was going to go into this at more length on the open thread, until it hit me, it’s the same issue we are seeing right now.
By that I mean, it’s the “experts” in GOVERNMENT who have given out the bad and false health advice who caused the problems.
We are going to be seeing a lot more references to the food pyramid. Some people are too young to remember when it was suddenly changed, basically turned upside down.
This was not done because of science, but because big industries in conjunction with big government had products to push.

Remember when everyone was told to stop eating eggs? Some of you were probably told that by your doctors.
I’m wandering from my main point, which is right now in America, today, we have “experts”, in conjunction with government, dispensing false and harmful advice and even edicts, in pursuit of corporate profits and political goals.
They have stood science on its head, made it a state religion.
Al the new “studies” to support the face diaper start with the premise that they are of benefit, and work backward to “prove” it, which makes them garbage.

I did that Atkins thing when it first came out; almost killed my self when the ketosis set in. Thanks, but no thanks – ALL things in moderation.
It worked for me. The pounds melted off when I got myself in ketosis. I just got tired of not eating bread and potatoes.

Eat healthy. Reduce your carbs, stay away from soft drinks and use portion control.
Take control of your health. Stop being deceived by the so-called “science” and do your own research.
Atkins-Tough one to follow for normal living. Most people have a hard time sticking with it.
Cut out most things made with white flour and sugar and you will see a big difference in weight(don’t use fake sugar additives though). Intermittent fasting is a good tool also. Mediterranean diet is excellent to follow.
Sensible moderation and management of your eating habits and regular exercise, like walking places everyday, goes a long way in keeping your weight and body mass in good ranges. Takes some thought and planning, but is not too hard to fit into daily living. imo.
The biggest thing for me is to eat small portions, eat slow.
Moderation is key. Any extreme diet can only be temporary. But long term, moderation.
Get yourself a bicycle and ride it every other day…
Not just around the block a time or two, ride further each time until you can ride 7+ miles… You will drop 20 pounds a month without any fancy “diets”…
Bicycle riding not only takes off extra weight, it improves your cardio-vascular health…
Not too long ago, I heard of a woman who had accepted a challenge to eat only what came from her farm for one year. She had to prepare for it, and did complete it successfully.
She lost 82 pounds and reported that she felt great. She said “goats are magical.” I’m sure she also had chickens (for the healthy eggs!).

Our food supply has certainly changed in the last 50 years. Big AG is less efficient in many ways, and this showed up in our supply chain difficulties during the lockdowns. For example, it used to be that every town had a milk bottling facility, which allows for a local inventory. But now, those functions are much bigger and farther away.

Right now, they are trying to get the public to stop consuming high fructose corn syrup, which the FDA approved, without saying you should stop consuming it.
They use the (in this case) euphemism “sugar”, and tell you not to drink soda or other “sugared beverages”. Soda does not contain sugar. It contains high fructose corn syrup. They know the difference.
High fructose corn syrup is in EveryThing. My son is allergic and can’t eat any processed foods. It’s a struggle for him. I’ve recently used intermittent fasting by eating between 12 and 8 pm. I’ve lost 10 pounds and diabetes A1C is the best it’s been in years. I cheat when I go to moms and eat her cookies but none at home. That is the key so far, keeping carbs out of the pantry.

I’ve been doing Atkins diet on and off for years. You need to take a multi-vitamin while being on the diet. Ketosis fog and headache are a real thing and passes within a week.

All fats are not the same tho. All hydrogenated (solid) fats are unhealthy. Rape seed (canola) is not too healthy either. You end up reading lots of labels in the store …
We promote coconut oil
As i commented below – it is anti viral, anti bacterial, anti fungal (candida) and anti protozoa. The Anti viral part in particular – anti the encapsulated (round, covid) viurses. It disrupts the capsule and spills the contents, rendering it harmlless.
Except that coconut oil is a solid oil at room temp. Grass-fed butter oil is also solid at room temp. It also is extremely healthy. But, yes, agreed, most fats need a good scrutiny prior to ingesting! LOL!

On these hot summer days – even with the temps inside comfortably cool – the coconut oil ‘KNOWS it is hot outside and it melts.
if you put it in the fridge it gets hard and difficult to scoop – but we persevere. It just makes me laugh that the coconut knows it is hot outside while our inside temps are pretty constant.
One of my wife’s doctors (who is a professor of medicine at a very good medical school) said nearly the same thing. Fat does not make you fat. Overconsuming fat is not good for you, but proper amounts are healthy. You need some carbs, not tons of it. Get away from artificial sweaters. Stick to honey, monk fruit and very low quantities of actual sugar. Avoid processed foods as much as possible. Prepare simpler meals of whole food products instead of boxed or pre-packaged things.
I actually grew up eating very much this way. I can’t say I have always stuck to that eating regimen, but 55 years old now and don’t need to take any daily medications except for a multivitamin to help cover whatever gets missed in my diet.
It also makes preparing for shortages and possible lockdown situations a lot easier.

A number of years ago I decided to get closer to my food source, cut off my cable TV, quit drinking and become more active in outdoors activities. Every year for my birthday I go to the mountains and go on a long hike, climb elevation to a beautiful vista and use it to motivate myself. I tell myself that if I want to be able to do this again the following year, I will need to stay fit and healthy.
For those of us that are lucky enough to have a body that can be healthy if given a chance, it’s our own responsibility to make the right choices for it. We don’t need a food pyramid, just a little common sense, some degree of self preservation and a mirror works better.

Another good author from the ’60s or earlier is Dr Cheraskin. One of his excellent points was that the nutritive value of food is slim to none. What you buy in the market was likely picked before it was ripe, shipped half way around the world, frozen, canned or otherwise ‘processed’. At home, we tend to cook veggies to death and throw out the water – yes, the water that now has all the possible nutrients in it. My gramma had a continuous pot of soup on the stove full of all leftover water. Fresh, raw or nearly raw veggies, or steamed – have the most value.

I made my own given the posts here from various physician groups. I would not recommend anyone make their own unless you do good research first. However, that said–Zinc and quercetin in capsule form every day with Vitamin D, E, and Kyolic garlic. 10 mg of Melatonin at night. I have ivermectin on standby if symptoms occur–yeah, horse paste, but I’ve used it for years and I’m still kicking–I just dial up the proper amount per weight. As I understand it, you take the Ivermectin four straight days if symptoms occur. I am taking one dose per month as a preventative.

In the past, as I recall, Alligator Gar (comment below) used the Constitution of Texas to show the right of the state to repel an invasion. Sounds like legality is not the issue; but forming a Militia and equipping and training said Militia in a timely fashion is an issue. Where would one begin?

I can’t get SS until I am 67–12 more years. There will be no SS, but I keep getting it taken from my paycheck. I am slowly getting my little farm ready for old age self-sufficiency. My fruit and nut trees will be bearing well by 67 and I will have the knack of gardening and canning down by then as well. The hens? My, my but they lay like crazy. If I can keep my flock going (got a good rooster), I can barter eggs for other things as needed. If we prepare for this, it won’t hurt so bad. We will not spend our Gen X golden years “RV-ing” or traveling, but we will live and be self-sufficient, which is a blessing in and of itself.
Oh, and that reminds me, I am also beginning to learn basic gunsmithing and reloading. I aim to not starve. And if I kill enough deer and hogs, the neighbors will eat well, too and can barter for all kinds of other things I don’t have and can’t make.

I’m a few years behind you in GenX, but all my life I have heard SS won’t be there by the time it’s “my time”. I started long term plans a while back. I have the native to my southern state fruits going (can you say blueberry, strawberry, blackberry, scuppernong, muscadine, fig, gooseberry, elderberry, and pawpaw?) The natural nuts were already there.
In addition, I have ducks, chickens and rabbits. Easily sustainable, and won’t get “hunted out”. Land set aside that is lightly farmed, dedicated beds for spring/summer crops. I even planted a couple of olive trees, because why not? Also, next month when sugarcane comes in, I am going to plant a nice patch of that, just because.
I have a neighbor whose land backs up where I ride on the state forest. He has a phenomenal stand of cane. That guy does not have chickens or pears or peaches. I see the possibility of barter. Glad to read a likeminded Southerner.
My fear is that “they” will take from the productive and self sufficient , by force, to give to the freeloaders. The goal is to abolish private property.

I know everyone is focused on Covid for those of us in the ‘older age group’, but i have to tell you that for us the more important aspect of coconut oil and monolaurin is for the brain. also, in terms of diabetes, a 3rd type was discovered for the brain. Seems all that sugar causes the brain to malfunction (go figure) – but the brain LOVES the ketones. Dr Jones discusses that in the pdf.
Laurecidin was highly recommended in natural treatment circles for aiding kids with autism back in the mid-2000s. Our brains being cholesterol, they need good fatty acids and in the correct amounts. Statins, “low fat” diets, etc. are bad for brain health. My Dad was on statins and “low fat” diets for years. He died in January from complications of dementia. Correlation/causation I know, I know, but the research is there (and there is no history of Alzheimer’s or dementia in his family, so no genetic component.)

At about 8:15, he shows a slide which shows the progression of the disease, and why a multidrug phased approach is needed for treatment.
He also emphasises that what is being diagnosed as pneumonia because of the presentation of the disease in xrays, is actually microclotting, and the appropriate response would be anticoagulants.
Other researchers, including Dr Malone, and Dr Cole, have indicated that the spike proteins themselves, not the virus, are causing this thrombosis phase of the disease.
All 3 vaccines available in the US cause the body to manufacture spike proteins, and research is just emerging that indicates the spikes migrate throughout the body. The drug companies in applying for EUA did not include this data, nor data on how many spikes are created following the vaccine and how long they are active in the body.

Chatted with a neighbor, apparently his thirty something brother, had the Moderna Vax.
The brother, is healthy and works out, BUT, has been sick for a month after getting jabbed.
He first noticed red bumps on his legs, and floaters in his eyes ( from blood pooling ). Then he developed chest pains and has heart issues. He is still not feeling well enough to work, but is slowly recovering.

My husband is Military and trying to get a religious exemption from the shots, due to the fact they all have ties to Abortion. However he was running into many “Christian” leaders who would not give him a letter to attests his beliefs are true and sound. Google still takes one to the false “fact check.” But even when they changed the fact check, days later, they didn’t change the claim to “True”, but to “lacks context.”

Mullins claims Catherine Engelbrecht and True The Vote has teamed up with 3 groups, main group being a company called OpSec, to track the geospatial and cell phone data of who was “servicing” the Zuckerburg-funded Election Ballot Drop Boxes in Georgia.
There are 242 people/cell phones tracked working the Drop Boxes in Georgia. These people would pick up ballots from ex. a FedEx, then stuff them into a Ballot Drop Box, to be retrieved later by another person.
For example, there might be 200 visits to a drop box, but 19,000 ballots retrieved. This would legally be impossible.
True The Vote has also collected the same type data in Wisconsin and Arizona.

I think while my doctor is still running his practice (valid concern, he’s gotta be in his 80’s now), that I need to make an appointment and go get the only single shot I am willing to take that I need updating on. That would be tetanus. I am well over 10 years from the last one, and only the Lord knows what the next 10 will bring.

Careful on the tetanus…..make sure you’re only getting the tetanus toxoid injection. Too many times they administer a ‘tetanus vaccine’ but what you’re getting is the DTaP (diptheria/tetanus/acellular pertussis) vaccine….if you’re OK with that, then it’s not a problem.

I said that’s all I want. PA said she’d check and they did, so that’s what I finally was given. Had I not noticed and asked, I would have gotten dtap by their choice.

so I have been doing some personal research on the British East India Company. My premise is they colonized America as well as India all along exporting Opium to China. That isn’t what this post is about so I will defer any details. But I was interested to learn that their was an Indian Civil Services division of the EIC.
Turns out it is eerily similar to the Senior Executive Services that many of us have become familiar with over the past 6 years of MAGA. So last night I happened upon information on a company, SERCO PLC. I will post a link at the end, but SERCO is British with their origins in Radio Corporation Of America (RCA) and they own the Senior Executive Services. You read correctly. A foreign company controls the 15000 unelected bureaucrats that run the United States of America.
They have their hands any many other areas too. Global Patents, Air traffic Control, Prisons and on and on. SERCO is a public services company.
Now here is the part that really baffles me. The queen apparently owns a “Golden Share” of this company. Which means her ownership position has veto power and control of company policy regardless of her percentage ownership. I do not know if this is the monarch or the Crown corporation that has the “Golden Share”. But the whole dang thing offended my sense of right and wrong

As far as the east India company colonizing America, it is a little backwards. Raleigh subleased his patent to colonize Virgina to three Men, one of whom, Thomas Smythe, was involved in most of the newfangled companies being created at that time. Later, 1609, King James gave it to Smythe and the Virginia Company. He was the first Governor of the East India Company and resumed the lead while he was active in the Virginia Company. (Both roles ended in a Virginia company scandal in 1620.)
The king revoked the Virginia Company’s charter in 1624. But this is a good example of how the inter workings of all these companies were intertwined with a handful of rich men tied to the English monarchs as the twists of fate played with all of them.
But seriously, the guy was involved in running both companies as Virginia was taking root. Of course they are intertwined. Has nothing to do with what happens 400 years later. And frankly, I would argue that SES is strangling America, and that we are being sold piecemeal to lots of companies foreign and domestic, SERCO being one such buyer.
But hey, isn’t that why Congress created the SES, to help them sell out America, keeping the President out of the deal.
As far as colonialism I am not talking about the Virginia Company and the 1600s. I think the only direct dealings EIC had with America was selling tea which a lot of ended up in the Boston Harbor. But I do think Global Banking types gained control of East India Company in the 1800s and the influence continues today via central Bank and soft Imperialism.
Consider Hong Kong, an EIC foothold into China and only recently returned just as China emerged as a world power. I can see how Global bankers might have used D.C. to gain a foothold into America’s Federal Government. Say in 1871 or 1913 when Federal Reserve Act passed

The two associations that I was trying to point out were the Indian Administrative Service of the East India Company are surprising similar in appearance to our SES. I think the very relationship between SES and the British services company is suspect because the SES were the folks awarding those contracts. SERCO seems to have won a lot of these very contracts.
