Now that we understand the problem [CRITICAL BACKGROUND HERE], we move into the solution discussion. There is a way to deconstruct the current system of corruption within the U.S. government that follows a path outlined by the framers of our constitution. In this series of articles we will outline what I believe to be the way forward. It is a narrow path, and each step is dependent on the American electorate understanding the challenge.
There is a way to stop the Intelligence Branch, but it requires some outside-the-box thinking and reliance on the Constitution as a tool to radically change one element within government. In order to achieve it, we must focus on three tiers needed for success:
• Tier One is “tactical civics” at a local level. Engaged and active citizen participation at the community, city, town and hamlet level of society. This is what might be described as grassroots level. School Board level; City Council level; County Commissioner level.
• Tier Two is “extreme federalism” at a state level. Engaged and active citizen participation through your State House and State Senate representative. This is state level assembly and action demands upon the House, Senate and State Governor.
• Tier Three the challenge of “federal offices” on a national level. This is where a singular action can be taken upstream that allows the first two tiers to retake control over federal offices. This is where we throw the One Ring into the fire of Mordor. CTH has tested this approach with a multitude of political allies who understand the issue. All eventually agreed with the solution at a federal level; it won’t be easy, but it will be possible.
I cannot emphasize enough how each tier is dependent on the preceding tier. Additionally, each voter has to understand the larger objective in order to see how they are all connected. That is the goal of this outline.
• Tier One – The lack of attention to local or ‘tactical civics’ is now manifest in your community with examples of school boards dictating mandates to you and your family. In almost all of these instances where local officials running amok, you will note their baseline detachment. They have lost their ability to identify exactly who they work for; perhaps they never had it to begin with. Various local officials no longer view YOU as their employer. Instead they view you as someone they need to protect themselves from. We cannot address the state level disconnect that is needed for correction unless and until we first reset the relationship at a local level between the citizen and the community government. That means you MUST get involved.
• Tier Two – The lack of attention to federalism, states rights, responsibilities and state government overall, is manifested most clearly in the outcome of the 2020 election; and the issue of election integrity. Even in states where republicans are in control of the state House and Senate, there are few legislative bodies focused on ensuring election integrity. Just look at how much difficulty grassroots organizations are having with the demand for audits, reviews, and election controls. This is an outcome of detachment from the legislatures.
It will be impossible to correct the federal issues of government without first and foremost making sure we have the right representatives in our state legislature. You will see why that is going to become more important when we talk about the needed action in tier three. The outlook of every single state representative toward the federal government is critical. We must elect state level representatives who understand and cherish the principles behind ‘state’s rights‘ and the tenth amendment.
If we have the right state-level representation, then -and only then- can we move into the third tier and begin traveling the path that addresses the federal issues.
• Tier Three – The nucleus of corruption amid every element of the federal institutions of government is the United States Senate. The U.S. Senate is the single most powerful part of the federal government. All other federal corruption is dependent on a corrupt and ineffective Senate. If we correct the problems with the Senate and reconnect the representation within the chamber to the state-level legislative bodies, we will then be able to demand change.
There will be ZERO institutional allies in this effort. Because of the scale of their power, the Senate will not give up control easily; and every institution of society and government will attempt to stop We The People from taking back control of the upper chamber. Every entity from Wall Street to multinational corporations, big tech, banks, foreign governments and world organizations will be aligned against us. When you truly understand the epicenter of the corruption, then you are able to see the tentacles extending from it.
It would be easy to say “repeal the 17th amendment“, it is another thing entirely to walk through the process to make that happen. Yes, ultimately we do need a full repeal of the 17th amendment, and return the selection of the senators from each state with a nomination and appointment process within the state legislature. [Common Explainer Here]
Seventeenth Amendment- “The Senate of the United States shall be composed of two Senators from each State, elected by the people thereof, for six years; and each Senator shall have one vote. The electors in each State shall have the qualifications requisite for electors of the most numerous branch of the State legislatures.
When vacancies happen in the representation of any State in the Senate, the executive authority of such State shall issue writs of election to fill such vacancies: Provided, That the legislature of any State may empower the executive thereof to make temporary appointments until the people fill the vacancies by election as the legislature may direct.” (link)
Prior to the 17th amendment, there was significant state level corruption as business interests and senate candidates worked in power groups with party officials to attain the position. Politicians seeking Senate seats began campaigning for state legislative candidates in order to assemble support. The state legislative races then became a process of influence amid powerful interests seeking to support their Senate candidate. Get the right people in the State legislature and you can get the Senator appointed.
Those state-level entities, bankers, wealthy people of influence, later became the permanent K-Street lobbying groups once the 17th amendment was ratified. In essence, they just shifted the location of their influence operation from the state to an office in Washington DC. [Those same power groups, albeit much larger, now write the physical legislation we see in congress.] Additionally, prior to the 17th amendment, there were issues of vacancies in federal senate seats as state legislatures could not agree on an individual Senator.
The biggest issue following the passage of the 17th amendment became Senators who were no longer representing the interests of their state. Instead they were representing the interests of the power elite groups who were helping them fund the mechanisms of their re-election efforts. A Senator only needs to run for re-election every six years. The 17th amendment is the only amendment that changed the structure of the congress as it was written by the founders.
Over time, the Senate chamber itself began using their advise and consent authority to control the executive and judicial branch. The origination of a nomination now holds the question: “Can this person pass the Senate confirmation process?” The Senate now abuses this power to ensure no one challenges them. Additionally, the Senate began using their oversight capacity to control elements within the executive branch and judicial branch. The full scope of that issue in modern form is OUTLINED HERE – which is the cornerstone of the Intelligence Branch of Government.
If we can repeal the 17th amendment and return the selection to the state legislature, you can see where the background work of Tactical Civics and Extreme Federalism begin to take on importance. [NOTE: Within the repeal effort we would need to include a recall process for states to reach out and yank back their Senator if they go astray; the ability to recall was missing in the original construct of the framers; it would need to be added.]
In part-II we will outline the process for repealing the 17th amendment in the current era. It will take the creation of two paths being built simultaneously in the background of the 2024 federal election.
◊ PATH ONE is the primary platform of the presidential candidate…. a visible and emphasized mandate that includes: “vote me into office and you are voting to repeal the 17th amendment“. This specific election issue would need to be the #1 priority of the candidate and spoken at every event. This approach would give the presidential candidate the mandate to demand congress to act if he won the 2024 election. We would need a warrior of epic strength, resolve and fortitude. A Trumpian candidate, if not Trump himself.
◊ PATH TWO is the parallel path built along with the 2024 election platform path, and put into place in the event that Congress refused to accept the mandate. Obviously, this could be an ugly battle. The second path is a convention of states in the first year of the successful presidential candidate’s term in office. The ‘convention of states‘ would be detailed, strategically planned, and the future schedule determined during the 2024 GOP convention preceding the November election (assuming the right candidate wins). That way, if congress refuses to act on their own, within say the first 100 days of the new administration, the state legislatures will then assemble a convention for the singular and limited purpose of one action item: “repeal the 17th amendment“. That’s it. Full Stop. Nothing more. Nothing else entertained.
There is a lot more to this, and a lot more to cover in discussion of this. However, this is the path that can resolve most of the issues we face with an out of control federal government. The shift in power would kneecap the Intelligence Branch of Government by re-instituting genuine oversight and control. A repeal of the 17th amendment stops Senators from campaigning, needing to raise money and puts them directly into the accountability position as a steward for the interests of their state.
The people within each state would then have a mechanism to address any negative federal action by contacting their state legislative representative. In a worst case scenario, a rogue Senator could be removed within days if they support any federal legislative activity that is not in alignment with the state interest. This approach also wipes out most of the power amid the Senate Majority Leader, as he/she could also be recalled by the state and would be less likely to work against the interests of the majority in the chamber.
More details to come soon….
What’s missing is repeal of the Federal Income tax. That is the only way to truly return power to the States, and shrink the administrative state, AKA The Swamp.
Agreed
Agree wholeheartedly. The framers would be aghast at the income tax. They believed that a man, back in those days, now and/or a woman, should not have the earnings of their labor confiscated by the government. That was considered immoral to them. The compensation for your labor was yours to keep and no government entity shall take it.
Yes – I’ve read that the wording was originally “Life, Liberty, and Property,” not “Happiness.”
Don’t know the history of that change, however. I sometimes suspect some 18th century version of Political Correctness. ?
They had to change it from property to happiness because they knew the slave-holding states would claim that their slaves were their property.
They had to form a nation sooner rather than later if they were to survive as a nation, and they had to work with the slave-holding states. At the same time, they put mechanisms in that would eventually result in the elimination of slavery.
Ah yes, thanks so much! I’d forgotten the actual history. But I knew someone here would remember it.
…and in establishing a foundation for the deepest of deep states
IMO the Framers would be stunned to see the how far the Federal Congress expenditures have “creeped” into public welfare rather than the specific responsibilities enumerated in the Constitution. Things like the Green New Deal, Medicare at 60, SSI for immigrants, the Iran Nuclear Deal, Paris Climate Accord and CHINA IMPORTS DEPENDENCE would have them passed-out on the floor. Sundance is right; this is a BIG effort by a LOT of people, that could see America fail if we fail. THIS IS A BIG DEAL FOLKS!
Gz9, I agree with you that the Fed income tax be repealed and that one issue addressed in a COS.
So thx for the help. I want to use your example to highlight the likeky fight when getting states to agree to the rules for ONLY one issue ( 17 A ) to be addressed in the first COS.
Go ahead and use it.
Amen amen
From your lips to God’s ears.
IMHO, anything beyond repeal of the 17th AT THIS POINT IN TIME is a distraction and dilutes the effort toward reaching the primary objective… something an opponent would gladly support. We Must Focus.
Can’t get there before the sort of fundamental political reboot Sundance is suggesting..
yes. It’s what enabled the entire mess. The 16th and the Fed. Both.
While I think the income tax is too high, what you say is not possible. Unfortunately, in today’s world we need a standing army with thousands of nukes. That takes money.
Yep. The trifecta of 16th & 17th amendments and establishment of the Fed was the beginning of the end.
Now how do we get Sundance into the inner circle of advisors for President Trump?
He may be there already. Great work, Sundance! My only quibble with your plan, and it’s a minor one, is the timing for the COS. Giving Congress 100 days to craft their avoidance strategies will waste valuable time and could give them a needed breather after what will hopefully be a massive electoral victory. We must strike while the iron is hot.
They collectively couldn’t find their a** with both hands.
They get no time, they’re themselves are a waste of time.
I never thought I would ever feel this way nor voice it.
I loath the Federal Government all it’s alphabet agencies including 99% of Congress, the entire judicial system.
A God fearing dictator such a King David, who was a man after God’s own heart, would be a prized possession compared to this current regime whom, I’m sure has come straight out of the pits of Hell.
Uriah the Hittite is unavailable to comment on the trustworthiness of God fearing dictators, but Samuel warned the elders of Israel (upon the instructions of God) that a king would take our property and our children. My ancestors didn’t listen any more than my countrymen are listening now. Israel got a king and America has got an oligarchic senate. We got what we asked for, good and hard! Now we need to work very hard to get what we had back. I applaud Sundance’s plan.
You can be sure people very close to #45 read everything Sundance writes.
…..or DeSantis.
What makes you think he isn’t already there?
I think his impact is maximized here, advising thousands who will each advise dozens of friends, who will then inform hundreds, each of whom will–MUST–act on what they know.
We have to own this and take it outside the comfort of our homes, phones, and keyboards. We can’t win deferring to Trump or DeSantis (or Rush Limbaugh) to act on our behalf.
Also: the size of the House needs to be discussed. Can you contact your “Representative” and be heard? We need a much larger body, each representing fewer people; and encouraging new parties to form. The Uniparty needs to be broken up.
Agreed. The original ratio of people to representatives, envisioned by the Founders, allowed for a proper balance of efficiency and representation. By efficiency, I mean the ability for the governing body to get their proper work done. And by representation, I mean a number allowing the member to personally know and respond to every citizen within his district.
The resizing of the House of Representatives will bring about a group so huge that a Nancy Pelosi will find it impossible to manage anything other than their proper job, which is managing the budget, period.
Exactly! Plus include diverse viewpoints, from additional parties.
I fear having only the Uniparty will lead to civil war, Panem Capitol v. The Districts
They can all telecommute from their districts. Get them out of the orbits of the lobbyists.
YES….This times 10. I’ve been preaching this for a while. We all should know our representative at least at the acquaintance level and have access to him at least a few times per year. The house of representatives needs to move out of DC and have them vote remotely from home districts. We need representation in DC….The current structure does not provide that.
That is exactly right. I joined COS in 2013 and, while that specific org has had “some challenges”, I do believe we could get a lot closer to a convention with a one issue approach. Once we get one, others could be called. It’s the first one that will be the hardest. Many ideas for amendment proposals have been put out there, but having our legislatures serve from home has always been my favorite.
Not demanding our House reps have in person townhalls has allowed them to escape the wrath of all that Nancy has ordered them to do.
We can be sure all the Dems and many GOP-e are happy with the Covid excuses for not having in-person meetings. What a racket they all have.
There’s not ONE gov’t employee at any level of gov’t that has suffered a loss of salary or benefits this entire time.
If that doesn’t piss you off, nothing will.
And if that doesn’t shame them, nothing will.
Here’s the answer… http://Www.tacticalcivics.com (for the faith-based), and http://www.thirty-thousand.org for the secular, although either one would work for our purposes.
Remember how JFK was forced by his old man to give his brother the attorney general job? I was just thinking about that, when I was thinking about how President Trump’s biggest problem was not having an AG he could trust.
I was also thinking about how RFK Jr. thinks the CIA may have had something to do with his father’s death.
Pfizer sprang into action to keep Bobby Jr. away from the White House, but I’m beginning to wonder if it was more than Big Pharma that wasn’t having him there.
I’ve seen several documentaries about the CIA’s motive for getting JFK killed. The CIA was running the Bay of Pigs operation in Cuba with the blessing of air cover provided by the US. At the last minute Kennedy backed off from providing air cover. Many CIA operatives died- some were captured, tortured and never heard from again. The CIA vowed to retaliate for this. The Mafia was also mad at the Kennedys. The Mafia had control of the extremely lucrative casinos in Havana. When the Kennedys shut this down, the Mafia (who helped elect JFK, particulary in Illinois), also vowed to get even with JFK and Bobby Kennedy. Somebody did this. The Federal government pledged to release secret papers from the Warren Commission report after 50 years. That came about in 2013. Guess what– no release. The government doesn’t want anyone to know what really happened.
If the papers were “secret” at all and that wasn’t just a ruse to prevent us from seeing much of anything the Commission had, I’d put money on the fact they no longer exist at all.
Well said Sundance ! Godspeed !!!
Term Limits. A couple of folks have already commented on this. I suggest as a consideration that it might be wisest to begin with this one item, followed quickly by the 17th amendment. First, the people have to realize they have power via a Convention of States. The one item that the people will readily understand and get behind is term limits. Yes, this isn’t as potent a change as the 17th amendment, but it is likely much more doable. Once the people see they can do that, the 17th is placed more within reach. Just my opinion.
Term limits for politicians won’t solve the problem. The unaccountable permanent bureaucracy then gains even more power. Look at California.
We need a repeal of the Civil Service laws and a return to the spoils system.
Congress must be forbidden to pass laws that delegate authority to Executive Branch agencies for their implementation and enforcement.
Perhaps most importantly is a ban on all public sector unions.
Repealing the Federal Income Tax would starve the Swamp of funds, shrinking the administrative state. Let the Feds beg the States for money.
Then, we relocate / redistribute any remaining agencies throughout the country. No relocation compensation, pay reset to prevailing local wages.
The treasury will just print what it needs… all of this is a distraction from the primary objective. As Sundance has laid out, start with the SOURCE of the corruption – it’s the men, not the money – and then work downstream from there.
Absolutely!
Actually, I think Sundance has the right order of importance. Although I agree that term limits are important, repealing the 17th Amendment is of paramount importance and priority. We get that done, a lot of other things would begin to fall in place.
We do need term limits, we also need the 16th Amendment repealed. Taking power from DC is how we get our country back.
Ir sounds good, but the termites then just move to other elected positions.
Right… think it through.
Mark Levin, of course, proposed this in detail years ago.
Thank you for this article! Lots of people have been saying this for years. Let’s make it happen!
This is all and good but it doesn’t really address the problem. Vote fraud and rouge security agencies aside, the problem is that something like half the country (concentrated in big cities but also found anywhere Democrats are) hates the very idea of America and the Constitution. And those people will still be there after we get our activism going. So endless conflict, very probably leading to civil war. The solution is separation before mass violence breaks out.
Stepping back into Sundance’s framework, getting rid of the 17A doesn’t really fix much either. Far too many states are politically dominated by their big cities and those legislators will select Senators that are anti-constitutional. Getting rid of Reynolds v Sims is a much easier lift that amending the Constitution, as that is simply judge-made law and will profoundly change the balance of power in state legislatures. Then our state-local activism can make a difference.
During the American revolution, it was about 1/3 Patriots , 1/3 Tories, and 1/3 neutral. Not too different today.
But, how to return power to the States? As long as the Feds have direct access to our paychecks, they will take as much money as they want to sustain their power. Until we repeal the 16th Amendment, power will continue to be concentrated in the Federal government rather than the States.
I don’t think you can any longer control the federal government by withholding income tax.
They simply print it these days, and we have become irrelevant.
Monetary policy is another huge topic, and even if the USD should lose its reserve status or cryptocurrency be instituted, barter would flourish and another currency would emerge. Our funny money is a peripheral and downstream problem.
Sundance in the previous very long article, mentioned that controlling the purse strings is not going to work …. yet.
“They simply print it these days, . . .”
Which argues directly that the 16th Amendment — and what goes with it, including the Federal Reserve System — are obsolete, unnecessary, and should be totally abolished, permanently. It’s a package deal.
Bet the “government” and “the Fed” don’t see it that way. Take away the 16th Amendment, and there goes the Fed, and . . . there goes their “printing” press!
The 16th Amendment is the only thing propping up the Fed. End the 16th, End the Fed!
All kinds of birds with that one stone!
Not true… not even close. Congress created the US Treasury, not the Constitution nor any amendment to it. Regaining control of the senate is the ONLY effective means to ensure these necessary but secondary changes.
And exactly how much power and control does the U.S. Treasury have over the Fed?
The Fed gives the orders, the Treasury obeys.
Congress was supposed to control the money, COINAGE only, precious metals, and control it.
Since they gave it all over to the Fed, that’s worked out real nice.
The U.S. Treasury has nothing to do with the Fed and its printing press. Hasn’t since the Fed came on the scene.
Income tax was only supposed to be on the top 1% wealthiest, too, at a minimal amount. Yeah, that lasted, too. During WWII it was up to 94% — on the middle class and the poor! And FDR tried to confiscate everybody’s gold.
Yeah. Congress and its U.S. Treasury, baby!
Yeah.
It’s the Fed that supports and funds Congress, including the wonderful Senators. Ain’t no way any of ’em’s gonna relinquish all that control and power.
Repeal the 17th Amendment? If it wasn’t properly ratified (and it wasn’t) then it really doesn’t exist. How can you repeal something that doesn’t exist?
Same with the 16th Amendment.
The answer isn’t mo’ better gub’mint.
Unless you’re a glutton for punishment.
Agreed. I worry about what else could be changed/repealed when the 17th amendment is repealed.
Again, though, election integrity must be restored.
Sundance’s idea requires a single-issue Convention of States.
If it expanded in any way beyond that single issue, trouble would unfortunately be inevitable.
Not sure how it could be bridled. That is one point that needs very careful planning.
Sundance made it fairly clear that the subject matter can and would be limited by the call issued by the several states. In terms of basic convention procedure, any proposal that fell outside those parameters would be subject to the “Rule of Germaneness” and would be ruled out of order.
Election integrity must be done at the state level. That is where the power the Constitution vested such authority–with states. It is at the state and local level that we can return election integrity.
However, repealing the 17th Amendment (whether by Constitutional Amendment or a Convention of the States) will require a coordinated effort between states operating on a more or less federal or national level.
Richard, the lynch-pin is local involvement. That’s where we have to begin knowing our long-term goal is repeal of several amendments, starting with the 17th.
We need to be working RIGHT NOW on election fraud and getting involved in local politics.
The strategic political objective is separating from those who hate us and want to destroy us, so we cannot forget the civilizational culture war aspect of this, which is the reason why “… half the country … hates the very idea of America and the Constitution.”
The constitution was a framework for managing and defending federalism. Federalism (CLOSELY related nations and tribes each with their own space inside a polity, gathered under a federal umbrella for mutual self defense) can work but multiculturalism (geographically mixing incompatible people up so that no one has a space of their own) has never worked anywhere in building civilization.
Federalism allows many local organic (non-synthetic) cultures to grow and facilitates local investment in local commons, making a federation a nice place to live one locality at a time. Multiculturalism destroys organic culture and, in our case, replaces by top-down imposition a synthetic marxist Hollywood filth culture that is by conscious design corrosive to civilization.
Americans retaking political control of our municipalities and states is therefore only the first step. The transnational corporations that have been the oligarchs’ primary tool in turning our republic into an empire need to be dismantled.
I think election fraud has created the illusion that we are split in half.
I think we have a lot more sane people than the elites would have us believe.
I agree with you that diversity and multiculturalism is an artificial construct that has been shoe-horned into the American culture in a cynical ploy to disrupt genuine and spontaneous local culture in the states.
I really wonder whether the country is divided in half. Many of those who support the Democrats simply have no idea of what the leaders are really trying to accomplish. They believe the drivel in the media about the stupidity of conservatives. They believe that the Democrats stand for the little guy and democracy and kindness and justice because that’s what they read and hear. They are propagandized and will continue to believe the propaganda until they start suffering personally in ways that reveal the lies they’ve been told. Maybe that’s one thing we should be praying for.
Yes, I believe that relatively few Democrats hate America… the majority of them are simply deluded by schools and the media into thinking they are supporting it! Getting the control of academia and the media away from leftists is essential!
Consequences.
As a people we are raising children to have little or no consequences for their behavior. Don’t study, that is okay we will mandate no tests or if there are tests, no failures.
You don’t want to work, that is okay, the government will take care of you while penalizing those who do work.
Politicians do as they please without conscience and are rewarded handsomely for their corruption. The vast majority of those in government at all levels are lazy and spineless. Grandiose, unrealistic benefit and retirement packages are included. An exception are the NCOs and lower in the military in training and in harm’s way.
This is a blueprint for our annihilation as a country and culture.
There are those that will not take it anymore. Cold anger will become calculated hot anger. At that time and only then when their are consequences to those in power that they will first live in fear and then consider changing for the good of the populace. There is too many government leaders at all levels to be protected.
That may well explain Christopher Wray’s fear of domestic terrorism from our citizens.
“each step is dependent on the American electorate understanding the challenge.”
Well, so much for that idea.
Boy, ain’t that the truth! Just using the useless mask-wearing sheep as an example, we must remove the sacs of excrement (aka The Enemedia and Big Tech) from their positions of blatant non-stop lying, editing out wordage they don’t agree with and complete loyalty to the Communists who are running this country.
I have a hard time fathoming how well their propaganda program has worked……until I’m out in public (I haven’t watched the “news” in 20 years).
The brainwashing is epic in size.
Yes. Even here, on this site, half the people will vote for the McConnell criminals because they don’t understand the problem.
Yep, most intelligent, informed people with the learned skill of critical thought and analysis make the huge mistake of believing everyone else is like the people they have chosen to associate with. They aren’t and the following quotes explain how pols have been able to get away with their crap throughout history. :
“Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.” – George Carlin (referring to the IQ bell curve)
“I think people in power have a vested interest to oppose critical thinking. You see, if we don’t improve our understanding of critical thinking and develop it as kind of second nature, we are just suckers ready to be taken by the next charlatan who ambles along… there are lots of ways to gain power and money by deceiving people who are not skilled in critical thinking.” – Carl Sagan, noted cosmologist, in radio interview, May 1996
“The masses have never thirsted after truth. They turn aside from evidence that is not to their taste, preferring to deify error, if error seduce them. Whoever can supply them with illusions is easily their master; whoever attempts to destroy their illusions is always their victim.” – Excerpt from Gustav Le Bon’s “The Crowd” (1895)
“As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart’s desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.” – H.L. Mencken (1880 – 1956)
And, BTW, with a fluke event like the election of a President who is even slightly against the incredibly corrupt status quo, the oligarchy must do everything to destroy him and, if needed, conduct a fraudulent election to oust him. Any serious investigation of the election will then be obstructed via lawfare which brings us to the final quote:
“When the law no longer protects you from the corrupt, but protects the corrupt from you – you know your nation is doomed.” – Ayn Rand
That is why a key prong of the strategy must educating the electorate…
Right, Martha… of all the comments by the naysayers and the handwringers, none has said it better!
I have stressed for years, the only way to correct DC is to start local.
Everything in life must be built on a strong foundation, start local.
And if (God willing) we “go local,” exactly what NEED of D.C.? Or “state capital”?
Exactly what NEED of politicians, bureaucrats, overlords and rulers?
“The state is a gang of thieves writ large.” — Murray Rothbard
Who needs gangs of thieves to run our lives?
Exactly what is it about being ruled that is so attractive to otherwise intelligent and independent people?!
Need at least Term Limits. Term Limits seems a big missing from the dialog. Repeal 17th Amendment is a good idea regardless.
With a Constitutional Convention, it would be good to seek repeal of 14th Amendment re citizenship (it was only there for making slaves citizens in 1868). That would aid in stopping illegal immigration.
And repeal 16th Amendment re income tax, and move to sales tax and tariffs.
Tier 4
Fix eletion fraud.Make sure everyone’s vote count. Dig in the past and figure out how long these voting fraud everywhere have been going on and UNDO all work done by the impostors. Every law passed by the fraudsters needs to be void.
We would get back to sanity in light speed.
Too late. This would have had to be done a half a century ago. Great ideas but we are too far down the river. The 16th and the Fed fund the beast and Fed money and policy is a drug that effects all of society and no one is giving it up anytime soon. Repealing the 17th although a good idea is like using a hose on a raging fire. The structure is fully involved.
This election fraud and the mistreated of President Trump beforehand has awaken the sleeping patriots all over the country, a good thing.
However this grassroots movement that has formed even as wonderful as it is, is too little, too late.
Yes, too late.
The pushback we are witnessing in local communities across the country is all reactionary.
What we need of course is a real plan implemented by the same kind of aggressive organization of our opposition.
Sadly, we are too divided, much too wishy washy and fickle to accomplish what Sundance has outlined or anything even close.
We just don’t have the caliber of people in this age
too comfortable, too ignorant and just plain lazy.
People have their Netflix, their groceries (for now), Union members concentrated in the large cities nationwide have great benefits and salary etc. Bottom line is it’s tough to get people to move absent absolute dire economic consequences which is exactly why the charade of the Fed pumping the fake money into the economy is going on. People tend to put up with a lot of crap before they change things. We just are too late. Things are going to have to get much much much worse before the people are motivated in my opinion. And you are right, by and large people are lazy and can’t see what’s coming.
FC, I have to respectfully disagree with your statement. My research has uncovered hundreds of blogs/websites for Nationalism/Popularism/Make America Great Again grassroots Patriots that have been rising up to challenge the progressive/marxists now in power. It is just NOW starting to get the notice of those in power in the govt. and progressive press. They are stunned that the GOP can do this type of organization. Alternative investigative journalist/authors/and yes some of your local representatives have been planning this for along time. Most drive-by media is not covering this. Check with those republican legislators in AZ, TX, some in GA, PA, MA, AK, & many others are now in line for the full forensic audit. The 2020 stolen election has to be accounted for first. Then think about 2022. 2024.
Mike Lindell (My Pillow) is spending his fortune on the 2020 stolen Election by hacked computer software and has the receipts of the fraud and stole election results from the swing states. His forensic audits have proven that EVERY state was hacked with computer software sold to states, paid with taxpayer money
Note: Getting elected as a Precinct Committee-man at the local level is an extremely important component to take back the elections. The events of the past year have sky rocketed this new group of special American Great patriates into the limelight. Research: Start with Stephen K Bannon’s Warroom Pandemic, Real American’s Voice news, FrankSpeach.com, LindellTV, Citizens Free Speech, Human Events, Just the News, Revolver, National Pulse, Populist Press, The GateWay Pundit, American Thinker…and of course, TCTH.
People make the choice to be lazy. Generally, most people are ill-informed, just want to get-along, don’t upset the cherry cart. If people read the labels on a can, then they are starting to become informed….before giving consent….. You’re right, we are divide. How-some-ever, and be-that-as-it-may, could that have something to do with human-nature?
Not mine.
I think I’d disband, eliminate the CIA, full stop, period. Use DIA and NSA but clear out completely the CIA. Period.
…and burn the NSA data farm to the ground.
Build a wall around DC, destroy the airport. Turn it into a prison.
All agencies forever abolished and the crooks jailed in DC.
Much as the architecture is stunning, SCOTUS must be moved.
I have been a repeal 17 supporter since 2009. That is what started me in my job.
I got excited when Mark Levin picked up the cause.
But I still can’t even convince my own wife why her voting for our US Senator is a waste. That we were never meant to vote for the Senate members and it is nothing but a death spiral for our nation.
She looks at me and says, “I want to vote for my senator and I disagree”.
And when I ask her what she gains she says, “I don’t want to talk about it right now.”
And that is why I fear this will not even get on the launch pad. It will take a very concise and sound argument to override the emotions attached to the illusion of having a voice.
Have you attempted to explain that the USA is not democracy, rather a constitutional republic; wherein with the exception of presidential elections and representatives in the House, the people were to be represented by their state legislatures and governors through their state’s US senators. That appointment of US Senators would in large part be as effective as term limits. Direct election of Senators actually takes power away from citizens and concentrates it in the unaccountable occupants of the senate.
And that really is the crux: voting, “elections,” are nothing but an illusion and a useful tool of the overlords in keeping the populace placated, believing the lie that they “have a voice.”
Even if there were such a thing as “voting,” you still have “winners” and “losers,” and the winners claim absolute dominance over the “losers,” to implement all the whims they otherwise could not impose on their “opposition.”
In our system, the pendulum swings (well, that’s the illusion, anyway) and each side takes turns punishing the other side. No one is allowed to say “NO! I do not agree with this, and will not submit to it!” and walk peaceably away, to live freely in society. It is an evil game of struggle for control of one group over all others. It is anti-human, anti-civilization, at base.
When you stop kids hitting each other in the sand box, do you then let them take turns, for the sake of “fairness”? Or do you teach them to play peacefully together, and if one doesn’t like what the other is doing, to either work it out peaceably or walk away without hitting?
How about we open our eyes and see reality, and let’s get out of the sand box and lead voluntary, peaceable, productive, prosperous lives in freedom with each other?
Free association, private property, individual sovereignty and personal responsibility.
This is why living only by God’s Ten Commandments (or even just that last five of them!) and Christ’s Golden Rule is rejected by the majority of us: they address only the reader, and demand and expect the reader to observe and strictly obey them. They nowhere appoint supervisors, police, enforcers of others. All responsibility for living in peaceful society falls on only one person: the reader.
There is no necessity for rulers and “governors” of mature adult human beings reared with self-responsibility and moral character.
I agree, a simple 1-step Convention of States to repeal the 17th Amendment.
After that goal is accomplished, then we need to revisit “the Fair Tax”. I recommend everyone find a copy of the book and read it. The government needs some type of income to operate for basic necessities, the Fair Tax is the simplest method to collect the same amount, if not way more, money while unleashing the economy in a way that would be unstoppable. No more government choosing winners and losers.
It will not work because the organizers will not be able to control the “agenda”.
The direction we seem to be moving in is Republican governors re-establishing “states’ rights” (Federalism).
And, the low hanging fruit once there is better coordination among a significant number of governors (a majority would obviously be better) is to have them “pick up the flag(s)” of movements to make null and void Amendments that were “ratified” despite defects in the process thereof: all of Reconstruction (13th – 15th), Income Tax (16th), and Popular Election of Senators (17th; https://www.devvy.com/new_site/17th_amendment_docs_march_2010.html). … Ideally reinstate the “Missing 13th”, and eliminate all federal departments and agencies which have become redundant with departments and agencies within state governments.
Will not work? Sez who??? Can I borrow that crystal ball when you’re done with it? LOL… just kidding… it’s broke… you keep it.
PS: The Founders also faced similar naysayers… thank GOD for their faith and their vision.
Love your optimism. But your comment evidences that you have no idea how devious those in public life and control of the two parties are. …
The point of the Sundance article is there is a sequence of steps; because as much as any one of us or all of us may want to “fix” government it will always be a necessary evil. Look at the Constitution and investigate a bit of all the compromise that went into it; ET currently has a series explaining some. And, in the late 18th century there were fewer interest groups than exist today. …
Again, the article sets forth the beginning of an approach; a convention of states would be a free for all. …
But thank you for sharing your opinion; others can read our exchange and make their own decision. … P.S. If you are not going to lead best not to boast about what leaders should do.
Somebody has to deal with Social Security. Medicare is nearly broke now, and it’s fixable with Direct Primary Care and stipends.
But SS is very thorny, and I’m on it. I worked like a dog, lived beneath my means, own a small condo and a house abroad, have a paid up car I love, and some investments.
I’ll be OK, I think, if SS isn’t there, but many people won’t. Many never even think about saving until too late, 2008 wiped many out, ZIRP has decimated any small pensions they had, and there’s no way for us savers to make a decent SAFE return on our money now. All so that the big boys can make billions in the market.
Our elderly can’t be made to eat cat food. Thorny indeed.
Thank you, Sundance, for your brilliant analysis.
Do we begin RIGHT NOW to become Precinct Committeemen (and women)? I am ready to do something, and to that end I have begun working with a couple of audit the vote teams on Telegram.
Can we begin getting people interested in “repeal the 17th Amendment” at this stage? I am impatient to clean up this mess!

I also read an article at American Thinker this morning about how so many Trump supporters are grassroots organizing by becoming precinct captains that the left is getting worried. https://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2021/09/flop_sweat_propublica_scandalized_and_horrified_to_expose_that_grassroots_conservatives__are_organizing.html
JMO, the “status quo” has got to go.
The total take over of the federal government by the foreign enemies / domestic traitors is unacceptable and the terms given to the traitors is unconditional surrender, NOW, not in 2022 or 2024.
It is constitutional for President Trump to be reseated.
He won HUGELY and he never conceded.
Talk of 2022 and 2024 is just that “talk”…
Fix “2020” for good……pull the coup plotters organization out by the roots.
When President Trump takes his rightful position as President of the United States of America, he will bring with him a massive wave of support and a HUGE mandate to completely dismantle the coup plotters organization that is in DC and its many evil tentacles, domestically and foreign.
The total take over of the federal government by the foreign enemies / domestic traitors will mean he will not be bound, for a period of his 2nd term, by the artificial rules, procedural roadblocks, appointment approvals that had his hands tied in his first term.
He will eliminate complete departments (fib, cai, jod, etc.”) and all of the intelligent agencies and their associated silos.
He will eliminate all of the current communications set up with the House and Senate.
National security and a “loyal to the Constitution” officer corp will be his responsibility as CIC.
He will present a budget that fits the Federal Government back into the United States Constitution.
JMO, resetting the DC baseline to the Constitutional Republic and prosecuting the traitors is America’s ONLY 2021 priority.
That’s exactly what politics today is to me: do anything but what needs to be done; always “future” never “now.” A whole lot of those mutts in DC, elected and unelected, needed to be very severely and publicly punished years ago. They got it rigged now so’s what’s “legal” has taken the place of what’s “lawful.” Get rid of “precedent” in every court.
Here’s my fantasy:
Impeach Harris. Appoint DJT as Vice President. Remove Biden via 25th Amendment. (The Gerald Ford pathway)
Then re-elect PDJT.
100%. Count me in.
“It is a narrow path, and each step is dependent on the American electorate understanding the challenge.”
I believe, rather strongly, that we as a nation will have to experience the horrors of a civil war before the American electorate wakes up to the realities of the corruption.
OMG, I hope you are wrong. I keep visualizing Panem’s Capitol v. The Districts . . .
If we do nothing (and continue to broadcast defeatism), you’re probably right.
Secession, giving the people the choice of who they wish to associate with and what governance system they prefer and implement for only their particular area, is not doing nothing. It is the ultimate solution to the system that forces everyone into a one-size-fits-all Iron Maiden.
Excellent article, as usual! Thanks, Sundance, for all your insight. ?
The reason this kind of thing–the acceptance of Marxism–happened in Russia a century ago is that men forgot God. Unless the spiritual problem is addressed primarily, the political process will fail.
Amen, spot on.
With out God men toil in vain and nothing will be accomplished. Everything else is mans opinion or hot air. An old saying lips flapping in the wind.
We did not insist on God remaining as the central part of our America, wicked anti-Christ types removed God from the classrooms as Christian American citizens were mostly unaware and most unfortunately silent.
The void created from the slow removal of God quite frankly allowed the “Devil’s children” to advance.
Hollywood and the media immediately took the opening and begun to churn out as much filth as the population would allow.
And oh how the flesh just loves filth, Americans just couldn’t get enough.
So now we got every sexual and fleshly perversion imaginable in our very classrooms.
It won’t stop until pedophilia is considered as normal as sodomy now has become or until God returns in flaming fire.
This wickedness you and I can’t stop it; it can not be stopped not now and certainly not by other men.
It CAN be stopped, but even most American Christians will not do what is necessary to “stop it.”
2 Corinthians 6:14-18; 1 Peter 1:13-16; Revelation 18:4-8
We who love Him, belong to Him, believe Him, and would obey Him, are called to live apart from those who do not.
In His Great Commission (Matthew 28:17-20; Acts 1:7-8), Jesus commands us to spread the Good News about Him to the rest of the world, to go out to unsaved people and tell them. He never tells us to bring them in to our homes, our communities, exposing our families and lives to them, the ungodly. We are to take the Good News to them, and if they do not listen, then we move on. Nowhere are we commanded to set up housekeeping within their homes or communities. Nowhere are we commanded to seek their offices and attempt to rule them according to Jesus’ teachings.
Only He can prepare, touch, and change hearts. That is not our mission. Our mission is to spread the seed and hope it takes root. The taking root part is His.
We go back to our own homes after we’ve prepared the soil (being an example of what being of follower of Him is like) and sown the seed. The rest is up to Him.
Why are we worried about human government, since none of that is of Him, and He explicitly calls us out and away from it?
So this is what we CAN do and SHOULD do, now, peaceably, while we can: as much as we can, form our own communities and secede from theirs, living only according to His Ten Commandments and Golden Rule, and minding our own business, not trying to make others conform through “political,” worldly means, to ours.
Why are we who love Him, belong to Him, and seek to obey Him so opposed to this simple remedy?
What does it mean to “remember” God?
With God, there is no “political process” needed.
In Romans 1 Paul equates it to glorifying God, giving thanks to him, acknowledging his moral standards. Moses warned of the tendency to ignore God when he gives prosperity as if it is our effort alone apart from his blessing. Peter mentions that in these last days scoffers will deny that the Lord is returning, deliberately forgetting the creation and flood.
Solzhenitsyn documented the phrase “Men forgot God” in his Templeton address easily found online.
Yes, to “remember God” is to honor and worship — and obey Him. To put Him FIRST exclusively.
Which human governments, no matter what they’re called, instituted by anyone, even Christians, destroy.
You can’t serve both God and Mammon — ANYTHING else. God does not share His throne and authority and glory and demand for loyalty and faithfulness with anyone or anything else. This especially means human government/rulers. No matter how noble or “righteous” or seemingly “good.”
1 Samuel 8
God does not condone, establish, support, or approve of any human government/rulership. Nowhere are Christians, especially, given command, mandate, or even permission, to initiate, establish, or participate in any human government/rulership.
Search the Scriptures and see.
God is not mentioned in the Constitution, yet as you well know, it is full of Christian principles. But to your point, “Render therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.” That sounds like a condoning to me. Order is preferable to disorder.
The Founders were not only aware of the basic human condition, they put forth a document that brilliantly addressed humanity’s problem that has been with us since the serpent said to Eve, “You will not surely die.” Federalism, checks and balances, separation of powers all speak to being an antidote for what ails us, but those on the left see no such malady. The culture war rages on, and up until recently, the bad guys were winning. But as they are wont to do, they overplayed their hand. They see government as the answer to all of our problems, as long as they are in charge and we do what we are told. People that hadn’t been paying attention are waking up, but yes, it is woefully late. For over a century, we have allowed this Constitutional fabric to fray and wither, with many well-meaning efforts to be more “democratic” and make what appeared to be reasonable and fair-minded changes. But in the process, the foundation was being chip, chip, chipped away as the culture was “slouching towards Gomorrah,” having lost and forgotten its first love. The Church has been asleep at the wheel, or even worse, complicit in her own demise. Church growth schemes, pablum preached from the pulpit, no, not the pulpit, from a wanderer on a stage preening, posturing and gesturing like a peacockish pitchman, music with repetitive lyrics that could have been written by a child. Where is the anger at being led down the primrose path, tiptoeing through the tulips, unaware of the cliff just beyond our sight? Where is righteousness? Where is humility? Where is obedience to the only One so worthy? We have allowed the mockers and scoffers to influence our view of the Bible, no longer holding it in the holy esteem it deserves and requires from believers. If our country is to survive, we will first need a spiritual revival not unlike the Great Awakenings of past generations. Awaken or perish! Yes, I do think it’s too late. But do we forget the sacrifice of our forebears who risked their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor? Do we dismiss the fact that what they accomplished after July 4, 1776 was in fact inspired by God, that freedom, rightly defined, is the best atmosphere for spreading the Gospel and casting light in the darkness? Or do we instead emulate Jesus, whose sweat was like drops of blood in the Garden, yet who completed His mission at great personal sacrifice, not seeking His own will, but that of His Father, to the betterment and benefit of those He called His brothers?
I haven’t yet read the comments, but, first thoughts:
The critical path of power in the federal legislative branch, then becomes:
? You, the voter
?The local elections that select lower office holders
?The local elections that move winners upwards to enter the state legislature
?The state legislature
?The Governor (this is key!) who is empowered to select temporary officeholders – and of course the Lieutenant Governor
?The individual Senators
?The leader of the Senate
And there the path must stop, at the top of the co-equal branch. I like it.
Not entirely certain how “advise and consent” abuse could be ended entirely with the other branches, but it ought to work more closely to its original intent simply by the nature of the Senators elected by this process.
Lobbyists would start work the very next day on the state legislatures, of course. How much blackmail material would they need?
That’s the beauty of it… right now, the target is the Capitol Building, a short walk from K Street… think 50 states and 435 congressional districts. Like Biden* said the other day re: extending the unconstitutional rent moratorium, at least it will buy us some time.
Thank you Sundance for your tireless efforts and well articulated plans. In my state, it has for an extended time, well beyond my years, been run by a political machine. Hence, the reason we have worthless Senators(RINOS) in office. The electorate of our state is relatively uneducated and easily manipulated by red herring tactics. Furthermore, the tentacles of this corrupt machine run extremely deep where they have tremendous leverage over those who do see the strings. Not disputing your ideas, just simply saying that to implement such, would require a massive undertaking in my state. I’ve already witnessed what they did to protect an established member of the swamp when in it appeared their candidate was facing defeat. Literally Black votes were bought by this machine to defeat this candidate. It was one of the dirtiest political stunts I’ve ever witnessed! And that is saying a lot!
Mississippi.
I disagree, the reasons for the amendment served to remedy the problem of our State Legislatures focusing on election of the US Senate and not on the business of the State, there were commissions developed to address State issues rather than the other way around. It wasn’t born out of thin air, but addressed real problems in deadlocks of empty seats.
The recall of Newson will remedy concerns about runaway Governors and open the flood gates to others. The 17A does not prohibit state legislatures their powers of governing their governors in creating recall powers if lacking.
What needs to be done, almost seems like an impossible task. Before any kind of change can even be considered, will require the entire system to be dismantled. The corruption is that vast, and the politicians sensing, the loss of control and power will force them into self preservation mode. Not sure elections, even at the local level alone, will be easy. Repealing an amendment, passing term limit laws, anything that’ll challenge what the deep state has put together, will be fought tooth and nail. So one has to wonder, what really has to happen for real change to occur and for the America first spirit to blossom???
I’ve always believed that we will get nowhere cleaning up the Federal government, if we don’t clean up the several State’s governments first. An issue that comes up with your plan about repealing the 17th Amendment [which would be great if we can do it ], can be found in Article V, clause 1. The enforcement of “Nothing more. Nothing else entertained” in a CoS is the issue, for under our Constitution, Congress must still call for the CoS, under Article V, clause 1, the noun of the sentence is “The Congress” they will call the CoS under the Application of two thirds of the several State’s Legislatures, and also under Article I, Section 8, clause 18, Congress retains the power and the authority via Law to determine every aspect of such a CoS, even as to whom the delegates can be. That is the danger of a CoS. In 1787, the CoS created a whole new central government, when their charge was to only amend the Articles of Confederation. We might come out of a CoS in worse shape than when we went into it!
You are correct.
But the truth you cite is not popular.
More’s the pity.
It seems it’s not so much a case of ignorance — anyone interested can learn the truth (still) — but a case of selective knowledge and preference.
Cradle to grave indoctrination in the Sacred State is a very hard thing to overcome and come out of into the light of fact and truth and reorient to them.
But thank you.
Sorry, but pretty much everything about your post is wrong. Article V empowers the states to INSTRUCT Congress… note use of the word SHALL (emphasis mine)…
“The Congress, whenever two thirds of both houses shall deem it necessary, shall propose amendments to this Constitution, OR, ON THE APPLICATION OF THE LEGISLATURES OF TWO THIRDS OF THE SEVERAL STATES, SHALL call a convention for proposing amendments, which, in either case, shall be valid to all intents and purposes, as part of this Constitution, when ratified by the legislatures of three fourths of the several states, or by conventions in three fourths thereof, as the one or the other mode of ratification may be proposed by the Congress…”
What is necessary besides the Ten Commandments and Jesus’ Golden Rule?
Why must there be an over-arching national government of one-size-fits-all over all of us all the time? How is that rational?
Why can’t people govern themselves in their own independent local communities, without interference from outside “governors” and “government”? Why is that evidently such a threat to you? What is sacred and all-important about “preserving the Union”? At what cost? Why do you prefer having other men over you, rather than being free of that “oversight”?
There is no reason at all secession can’t be peaceable, except for those who put themselves over others to force them to do what they would freely and peaceably choose not to do, and so they try to force them to obey.
Why is that okay with you? How does that make any ethical, logical, or moral sense? Why is that not named the crime it is?
What is wrong with claiming, unapologetically, our God-given sovereign in/unalienable rights and freedoms and liberty, every single one of us, as long as we’re peaceful? Why must any of us surrender any of our individual rights and freedoms for the sake of anyone else, especially any over-arching “government” of rulers and thieves?
Why do you prefer a system — any system — of rulers over 350+ million people, to the rightful freedoms and liberties of self-governance of each mature adult?
Yes! It got hijacked by what would become the Federalists. It’s my opinion that much of the war between the states was because the South was Anti-federalist, & the North was Federalist.
And they’d do it again.
This is called Tactical Civics ™ and they are establishing chapters in counties throughout the Country. Look it up.
https://TacticalCivics.com/video
This seems a massive undertaking. Almost impossible. Yet the tallest building starts with one brick. I guess that would be “me”, the first step.
^^^ Love this! ^^^
‘Sundance’,
Your first tier is correct, and there are already over 225 TACTICAL CIVICS™ county chapters in 43 states. And I might add, TACTICAL CIVICS™ is our trademark, thank you.
The notion of a ConCon is insane; there is absolutely no limit on what may be done in a ConCon, as the first one in 1787 proved. That’s why several hundred George Soros-funded organizations are for a (euphemistically-labeled) ‘convention of states’. It would be a Pandora’s Box.

David, I agree… I think January 6th. The mission WILL be hijacked and the results won’t meet the intention.
I wasn’t familiar with Tactical Civics… thanks for posting… I’ve got some reading to do.
Hey David… there’s “no limit” only IF IT ISN’T LIMITED. Just a polite suggestion here in the interest of advancing the cause… you might want to re-read the OP and avoid those old JBS talking points. A Convention of States ( NOT a Constitutional Convention ) can and has previously been called and limited to a single issue, and by golly, the sky did not fall.
Article V provides for equality between Congress and the states in the power or authority to initiate constitutional change or propose amendments. Since Congress may and has on a number of occasions limited its attention to addressing single issues in considering constitutional amendments, the states, being equal, would also have the constitutional authority to limit a convention to a single issue.
A convention is run by standard convention rules. This is not new ground we’re covering here. There is a long and storied history of successful political conventions dating back at least 300 years before Madison ever dipped a quill. Everything is run through committee.
I’m not going to accept that you are ignorant of convention procedure… nothing makes it to the floor without going through committee, and any delegate who, in committee, introduced any topic for debate that clearly falls outside the parameters of the subject of the call would be defeated immediately by the rules of the convention… his motion would simply be declared “void ab initio” by the chair, and they would move on.
It’s also highly likely, in such an instance, that the offending delegate would subsequently be reported to and recalled by his state.
At this point, to be perfectly honest, I don’t expect any of this to bring about any change in your position. I simply had to reply for the sake of the innocent bystanders, any other readers of this thread who are genuinely interested in this issue and might be asking themselves honest questions. I just feel they deserve honest answers.
Lets name the amendment to repeal the 17th amendment “The John McCain, Lindsey Graham, Rob Portman Amendment
As far as repealing the 17th amendment, I’m with you on this one. Getting it to pass in the senate where it would require 2/3 is a tough hill to climb. You could hear the wailing and gnashing of teeth saying “How undemocratic” from the left, who for the most part don’t understand federalism. Your hear the idiots in the media, etc., calling our nation a democracy. It is not, it is a Republic. Very different. The founders decide against a democracy due to many factors, including the instability of it. This is one reason why the senate was originally designed, to represent the state, not the mob. That was the house’s job.
I’ve been saying this for the last decade. Repeal the 17th. Unfortunately, the people have no idea that the states used to appoint senators. Before they would willingly go along with having their right to select the senator via direct election, they’d need to be re-educated in how we got where we are today. This article is a start, but we’re just scratching the surface and don’t think 2024 provides enough time to lay the ground work necessary.
On the other hand, several realities apply:
1) Right now a significant majority of the country sees us as in a trap, with no possible way out that doesn’t involve blood in the streets.
2) That majority is smarter than some here realize.
3) Repealing the 17th amendment will be a new idea to many (again, probably a majority after a certain age) who have been indoctrinated instead of educated. “New” ideas are always more appealing to people in existential panic than ones they already know about and have seen fail at least once.
4) We do have a solidly growing alternative media reach, and the Pravda media is concomitantly shrinking. In fact, this article is the first one since I found CTH that I saw initially, not right here – but posted on Gettr, which happened to be my open window from last night.
Off to repost…
Just found and reposted the original GreyLady post of this article on Gettr.

Excellent work, Sundance, thank you. What is to stop the states from having the same problems they had before the 17th? Will a recall provision be enough to stop that?
Sure would help, and could it possibly be worse then what we have now? If the definition of a quorum were reasonably changed to accept the votes of majority of those present, then maybe a few vacant seats in the senate wouldn’t be a bad thing.
It seems to me our biggest obstacle is education and messaging specifically about the concept of the Uniparty. Too many conservative commentators are still in a Dem versus Rep mode. They attribute incompetence, stupidity and cowardliness to actions that are intentional, even here on CTH. I have seen greater awareness of the Uniparty on social media in the last few months. Conservatives need to come together on some talking points, putting aside the “not invented here” pettiness, and utilize the platforms we do have for a unified message.
It’s spreading. More people are learning about how the Deep State works. For example, here’s a meme-ster who’s woke to the role the intelligence community is playing in DC:
?resize=580%2C507&ssl=1
Funny how a person’s appearance can tell you a lot: if you only showed the faces, I’d bet 75% of people asked, “Which one is the corrupt one?” would choose the guy with the carefully chosen, “fashionable” specs.
I’m upset the “solution” doesn’t include a giant guillotine set up on the White House Lawn…. just sayin’
Another issue yet to be addressed is Congressional retirement. I don’t believe the framers ever intended for Congressmen and Senators to be carrier positions which opulent retirement benefits. Stopping this combined with term limits migh make it possible to stem the corruption at least a little. A nice, new, rope necktie might be even more motivation to keep the thieves in line.
That would be next…
But that begs the question: WHY have even potential thieves over us AT ALL?!
Exactly what is the necessity for being RULED and ROBBED by “our betters”?!
The solution is clear. It lacks leadership. Who is to organize this undertaking. Surely it is not the GOP. The effort to clean out gov from top to bottom requires a new political organization with clearly defined goals with a charismatic leader. Are we ready?
See, among others, http://www.conventionofstates.com
Like, for instance, Jesus Christ Almighty God?
I’m for that!
Thank you SD for pointing out ways to take back our Country from evil ? creatures that want absolute power. We need alpha men with good moral character and in my humble opinion it can only come from God center men that love the Holy Bible God’s very Word.
With God blessing miracles can and happen.
One suggestion I have is a repeal process for EVERY elected person, not just at the highest levels of state and federal government. Of course, this process needs to follow a successful and rigorous repeal process (i.e., a certain percentage of signatures required based on how many people are in that person’s district). My thinking is that this would hold elected judges and others more accountable if they know they can be drummed out of office sooner rather than voted out later.
There are probably holes in my logic (fire away), but somehow we have to hold these people even more accountable than merely voting them out (maybe–if it’s not rigged) every few years.
Quick and definitive accountability at ALL levels needs to be built into the system so that we can make changes as needed rather than suffering until the next election process.
I think you mean recall process, and it looks good on paper until you stop to realize that after virtually every election, the losing party would immediately initiate a recall effort. Just sayin’…
Yes, thank you. I meant “recall.” And the fear of abuse is why I said the process must be rigorous, difficult to do, and not easily manipulated by just a few. It obviously works in some states, so I’m thinking it could work at all levels, too.
Every person thinking in terms of people in government, only good people (then) subject to voting them out and/or recall elections, is deeply thinking only IN THE BOX.
The indoctrination is so ingrained even Christians can’t think outside of the box of human government “under God.”
Search God’s Word and see: NO HUMAN GOVERNMENT FOR GOD’S PEOPLE IS GOD’S OWN DESIRE! 1 Samuel 8
NOWHERE in God’s Word does HE stipulate human rulership! NOWHERE!!!
The overriding theme of all of these reform efforts must be that We the People withdraw our consent for the actions of corrupt public officials… and they are ALL corrupt, as this recent election theft has proven for ALL to see.
They may have power, but they do not have our consent. In every way possible, we must make that known. Wherever possible, our actions must be to ignore their illegitimate exercise of power.
Tier 1 – How do we do this at city council, school board and county commissions wherewe live?
Watch, https://TacticalCivics.com/video This groundwork has been in the works for quite some time.
Attend the meetings. Ask informed questions (you should be able to access the meeting agenda online). Network — it’s possible to get inexpensive business cards printed with your name, contact info and an identifier, maybe America First. Use the back of the cards to suggest a few websites like CTH and American Thinker. Give cards to people attending the meetings who seem likely to be receptive to a conservative message. Make your own website using a free platform, WordPress is out so maybe blogger. Add your website to your contact info on your card.

Thanks SD. Repealing the 17th amendment is the only way to destroy the deep state. The senate must be returned to the function of the states with recall option added. Nothing that is worthwhile in life is ever easy. We must with the help of God win.
Put our shoulders to the wheel and PUSH!! Action, Action, Action!
Let me see if I understand this.
By getting rid of the 17th, the intended effect would be have the whole Senate corruption largesse to leave DC power circles where it currently comfortable hids behind Federal Officialdom.
And have this corrupt influence pandering enter back into the States as the Constitution was written by the Founders.
Thus the direct Sunlight of State Legislature’s becoming gridlock and corrupt in of themselves attempting to fill each State’s Senatorial seats.
Absolutely brilliant.
Since the whole selection process will then become of Local and State interest and dynamic.
This entire article reminded me of something… something my counsel would typically advise me to do when he felt like it was again time to hedge his bets. If I didn’t know better, I’d say this was exactly it…
I mean it truly is amazing that after all information Sundance uncovered, and his well researched conclusions about how the system really works (i.e. Reality meet American dream and Civic Lessons, if you know what I mean) and how it doesn’t, he suggests that we move to essentially replicate the failed startegy of the Tea Party with some minor tweaks and just ignore the fact that the national security apparatus, the so called Fourth “Inteligence” Branch as it was fittingly termed by Sundance, just might immediately go into overdrive deploying the FBI/DOJ, the DHS, the IRS and other three-letter agencies, including the DoD (say hello to Gen. Milley) if they feel a bit insecure this time, to create some false narrative to attack and harass us, audit us into bankruptcy, put us on the no-fly list, declare us to be domestic terrorists and violate any other civil right we may still enjoy, including stealing more state and national elections.
Tell me, why shouldn’t they? Last I checked, none of the perpetrators of the Russia Russia hoax or the Ukrainian hoax was ever really punished, let alone brought to justice. Quite to the contrary, the few Deep State apparatchiks who were actually fired or forced to resign were either given some well-paying academic/corporate gigs or million dollar book deals, or both to “soften the blow.”
Again, how is this supposed to be any different from the Tea Party that gave us Paul Ryan, Marco Rubio, and Trey “Rooster” Gowdy?
And,most importantly, how much time do we have?
I’m listening…
Exactly so. Thank you.
there is another way.. a fast track one..
we’ve been watching them Talibans over there.. and learning..
there are basically three broad tenets..
one.. they have no clear central structure except the ideology.. The Ideology of The Constitution for example..
two.. they have a loose construct of many factions.. like States for example..
you can call them Tribes.. or ‘variants’..
like the dreaded Floridian variant.. or the dreaded Texan variant..
they’ve already have given the Texas variant it’s own name..
..the “TexasTaliban” variant..
and step three.. is just a new spin on an old tradition..
hang all the traitors.. but using a new technique..
Blackhawk hangings.. and parade them around the cities for all to see..
three steps..
simple..
the “TexasTaliban” way..
LOLOL!!!!
Very, very close! ;-D
