Stillwater, all that they do is great but what has it accomplished? All they do is collect the drugs and arrest the boat crew. The cartels could care less about that crew or the drugs. The gross amount of money they make from what does get through is more than enough to make more drugs an buy more boats. The crews that make the trip doesn’t care if they are caught. It will be easier on them here than in Mexico. The coast guard is doing all they can legally do but harsher treatment to those forced to make that trip with the drugs are in order. Our law enforcement needs the authority to sink the boats with the crew still aboard.

One of the reasons I post repetitively about CBP drug busts or enforcement actions here or there is to show individual or team efforts on the micro level, in spite of the often overwhelming net loss at the macro level.
So in one sense it’s to show the efforts of the law enforcement, but in another, perhaps more important sense it’s to get people habituated to examples of individual effort, in the face of impossible obstacles, regardless of whether one’s efforts are undone in the future.
Sort of like a soldier doing his duty every day, often doing ordinary, repetitive, though necessary tasks. It’s to get us out of the need for short term gratification or quick results when what’s necessary is stamina or endurance… staying power… taking the long view… responding appropriately to emergencies, but not being unhinged at every slight turn of misfortune. Developing internal fortitude…

I was browsing through a book of poetry in a thrift store, asking my question, and my fingers turned to the exact page bearing a poem by Max Ehrmann, “If You Made Gentler the Churlish World.”
The poem essentially says what you just did — that it is important we keep making the effort, our best effort, regardless of the outcome, perhaps not even being here to see the outcome.
I know your comment was directed to someone else, but wanted to thank you just the same. Sometimes it’s important to know you have touched another’s heart.

There surely are some translators or others who really did help American forces and who deserve to be evacuated. But they would number at most in the thousands, not the hundreds of thousands currently in process of resettlement.

Seriously though, the F-35 should never have went into production. The number of unfixable flaws it has is beyond ridiculous.

I read about the AntiFa Communist piece of crap teacher teaching communist garbage in the California school. The school board ditched the parents and left. They knew what that teacher was doing. Also, in the 1970s California passed a law banning the teaching of communist/socialist teaching, politics and anything to do with communism. The teacher can be prosecuted because of that law. But now the libturds know about that law and are now rushing to get the law abolished.
Also, what that teacher did in the classroom and making students go do dangerous things is happening in most school districts in California, according to reports from others and from Harmeet Dhillon. It is the norm, not the fringe in California schools, and yes, school boards and superintendents know about it. People from all walks of life in California, not just college teacher/professors/college presidents are involved with AntiFa, and do not keep it a secret.
