Comments have been closed. In the short time this post has been up I have had to delete a number of them. Good grief, if you don’t want to pray, pass on by. And if you are mad at Franklin Graham, you can’t put that aside long enough to say prayers for people whose lives are in grave danger at this moment?
Some of you need some serious self examination. There are many issues in our lives that should draw us together, and if we are actual, functioning adults, then we should be able to set aside other concerns and focus on a bigger picture. I’m closing comments when what I actually want to do is ban some of you who were really out of line. I consider that my act of self restraint for the day. There was absolutely no need to be a jerk on a prayer post. I repeat, again, as I have in the past, not everything has to meet with your approval, and if it doesn’t you can ignore it.
From the desk of Franklin Graham…
Thousands of people are desperately trying to escape from Afghanistan after the country’s fall to the Taliban.
With the Taliban blocking access to the airport and all exit routes, this is a life or death situation for Christians and other religious minorities, and all those who worked with or for America over the past two decades.
These Islamic extremists, who have taken Afghanistan by force, have a history of brutality, including beheadings and public executions. Time is short and the need is urgent, and this is why I am calling for a day of prayer on Sunday, August 22.
With the Taliban blocking access to the airport and all exit routes, this is a life-or-death situation for Christians and other religious minorities, and all those who worked with or for America over the past two decades. There is no hope for these people to get out safely—apart from a miracle from the hand of God—and that’s what we need to pray for.
It is a difficult and tragic situation. Will you please join me in praying for God to intervene in a mighty way?
Sincerely,
Franklin Graham
I will pray with you.
Praying right now.
I have been praying since this mess began on 3 Nov 2020. Thank you for reminding us.
I’ll pray with you ?
?
But I will still join in the day of prayer.
Retired Magistrate here: Didn’t know about Franklin Graham asking for prayer with regard to those trapped in Afghanistan. However, in our little country church today we prayed for those trapped in Afghanistan and asked that GOD would protect them and get them safely home.
What a tragedy. Don’t know if this was planned incompetence or just incompetence. I don’t think it really matters to those Americans trapped; they just want to be rescued and get home.
If you are thinking about foreign travel right now you might want to re consider. It is obvious that this Administration really doesn’t care about American citizens either in this country or abroad.
This whole administration is such a disaster that our only hope is for GOD to intervene and restore to us the freedom set forth in our Constitution. That does not mean that we should not do anything; do what you can where you are. However, it really is going to take an act of GOD to fix this mess.
Precisely. Put your faith in God. Not our government. They don’t give a damn about us. And the debacle in Afghanistan should be your first clue.
Praying.
I’m fairly certain that Franklin Graham has done far more good in the world in the name of Christ than you or I. People have differing opinions regarding the vaccine and I don’t see how denigrating this man of God is helpful to the current situation. Let’s spend today praying rather than bitterly complaining about Reverend Graham because he has a different opinion than you regarding the vaccine. It’s not helpful and not in the spirit of Christ.
I am praying.
Praying to The One Who Knows all things. In Jesus’s Holy and Saving Name, AMEN
God is our Holy ETERNAL Way-Maker. We offer our imperfect prayers for His great mercy for ALL who have been abandoned, that their entreaties to Him for their safety will be answered.
Thank you Menegerie
Praying for God’s guidance and hand.
Praying that evil is exposed in full light.
yes.
Praying this minute for the Afghan people and for Samaritan’s Purse in Haiti and other points of need.
Actually, no. We worship a great God Who is as merciful as He is just.
When Abraham sent off his wife Hagar into the desert with her son Ishmael, she cried out to the Lord and the Lord rescued her. The Lord God loves all the people of the earth. Every single human being can call out to God for help regardless of whether or not they lived up to an ideal.
Prayer sent. May God protect them and save them in spite of our inept “leaders”.
Praying that the Holy Spirit lead those Christians, religious minorities, and those who have worked for America in Afghanistan to safety, may they be blessed with special protection and guidance from their guardian angels.
I don’t need to be told by Franklin Graham to pray! Perhaps he needs to pray for his traitor friend Mike Pence who
did his utmost to make this America killing regime possible.
Left this here as one of the milder examples of why comments were closed on this post.

Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.
We are human, fragile and prone to making bad calls.
The call to prayer to help those needing help is more important than the man calling for the prayer.
We serve a mighty God. With his blessing may our incredible military who are taking life and death chances.. be protected with the Heavenly Angels surrounding each and everyone. And may God reach his mighty hand down and protect all of his children. My thoughts and prayers are with each one of you. And Father, we thank you for all of our amazing Veterans who have served… may they all be blessed richly.
I love the Treehouse . . . thank you for posting this . . .
Which is why you best arm up and stockpile ammo. We will eventually have to fight in the streets and kill those who would put your children in chains.
HERBLADY, I hate to agree with that gloomy presage, but I do, for the most part.
Thank you.
I deleted herblady’s inappropriate post.
