So it is up to us to stop wearing them and deal with the consequence eg; let the company call the police if they want.
Practically all businesses in Virginia require masks to enter.
The only ones who dont are mom and pop stores in rural areas.
Until the business owners bring legal action to stop this as a few have done, customers will comply because no one wants the police called or to be told to get out.

Truth be told I don’t mind wearing the mask when I frequent a business simply because I know there are some ppl (especially elderly) who are genuinely afraid of the virus and I sure wouldn’t want to exacerbate the fear why would I. But that’s just me.

We have a couple signs along the freeway here in Arizona that say “my mask protects you, your mask protects me.” Some people actually buy into this. It’s illogical and sad, but this is where we are as a society.

This may come off as uncaring, but it is how I feel. I’m late sixties in age, so I’m not against older people. But if people in a business are scared of covid (nothing wrong with that, some people -are- at risk), then just stay away from unmasked people, don’t insist that they partake in your mask superstition.

I decided to test being w/o a mask and walked into Publix (in Atlanta) without a mask one morning this week. No one said a word.
My response was going to be that (criminal) Gov Kemp lifted the mask mandate plus CDC – so why are you wearing a mask? Not responding appropriately YOURSELF!

I work for the Navy, they mandated masks, I went to my doctor and got a letter. I don’t wear a mask, anywhere. I’m not rude, I don’t get in people’s faces, I stay my distance because I respect the right to be stupid. I’m very matter of fact, I don’t slink into a store.

I am almost 69 and the last 2 times I was in the grocery store with no mask, the only other people I saw without a mask were a man probably close to me in age and a woman who had to be in her mid-late 80s.

It’s my opinion that being among people wearing masks with no chance of seeing a smile simply exacerbates the fear. I’ve seen fear in the eyes of adults and children as they look at each other “all masked up.” It’s like a constant drumbeat of “you could die, you could die, you could die.”
As readyand able pointed out, fearful people have the option of staying at home and having others do their shopping for them. Wearing a mask PROMOTES fear. That has been the whole point.
That’s why I wear the plastic face shields that are easy to smile in (and breathe in), and easy to imprint with cogent messages.
I live in blueMA, heart of tyranny, so not wearing any “face covering” would be constant harassment absolutely everywhere. The face shields, however, are useful for starting conversations about the whole screwy thing.

I think it’s very important that those of us who can get away with ditching the mask to go ahead and do so. More people refusing to wear a mask will undermine the use of masks anywhere. We can already see that happening.

The governor/emperor’s order allows exceptions, no documentation needed. Go on in without that face diaper. If you get stopped, smile, and politely ask if the governor’s exceptions apply. It works every time I do this in NC. Read the exact wording from his website. Give yourself plenty of leeway in the description of exceptions. This does not need to be confrontational. You are actually doing the business a favor because they are supposed to honor exceptions. Their admitting (as if it’s really a privilege) shoppers without masks proves they understand the order and are compliant. They want to be compliant, right? It’s all in the attitude.
I was vacationing from Virginia in Florida two weeks ago and shopped in a Publix on three separate occasions. Ignored their mask mandate, as did several other patrons and was never hassled.

Outside the major cities, Oklahoma has been over masks for a very long time. We travel US Route 69, through MacAlister and Eufala, as well as I44 towards Ft Smith when driving to see the grand kids in Arkansas, from Allen, TX.
Since May 2020, not many if any masks work at places were stop for gas and a break. The locals gave people wearing masks very long looks when you entered the stores.
Went to my local Republican club meeting last week—about 80-90 of us without masks. One lady walked in with a mask on, looked around, ripped off the mask and smiled at every one. It was a beautiful thing.
Went to CVS recently for a perscription.
-Everyone in/on the pharmacy side of the counter wore masks (of course).
-The plexi-glass shields atop the counter is quite silly; as they are only about 24 inches tall and narrower by about 4 inches on both sides of / than the ‘partitioned’ service/order/pickup station framework.
-No gloves were worn by those using the computer, taking the written perscription from me, taking my insurance card (and handing it back to me), taking my money and giving me change, nor handing the bag with perscrition inside to me.

Looking at this issue I can’t see anywhere that the SD governor did anything wrong, but if you read the article about accepting refugees the question comes up as to why there are communities that want refugees, and from what I have gleaned about the issue it generally comes down to money for local government without any real benefit to local residents.
There is no reason for any refugee from Syria to end up in SD or anywhere in America at all. Syria is large enough to move people away from the fighting, and the best solution is to get out of these places in the first place.
Whether the states or communities are “allowed” to or not, 10th Amendment State Sovereignty asserting sanctuary from this invasion is nearly our last hope to preserve some parts of the country. And few enough are taking advantage.
