An Indisputable Fact

The theological confusion in the Church today is basically the result of her rebellion against the authority of Paul as the divinely-appointed apostle for the present “dispensation of the grace of God” (Eph. 3:1-3).
On every hand Paul is referred to merely as one of the apostles, sometimes even as one of the twelve, though the record of Scripture proves that he could not possibly have qualified as one of the twelve (See Matt. 19:28 and cf. Acts 9:1).
In Galatians 1 and 2 the Apostle throws down the certificate of his apostleship, as it were, to those who questioned it in his day. He opens his argument with the declaration:
“…I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man.
“For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ” (Gal. 1:11,12).
The Scriptures teach beyond the shadow of a doubt that Paul’s apostleship and message were absolutely unique and separate from that of the twelve or of any who had preceded him. This is what Christendom as a whole has refused to accept. Is it any wonder, then, that they confuse God’s prophesied kingdom program with “the mystery,” committed to Paul for us in this present dispensation?
The Scriptures emphasize not only the Apostle’s constant use of the first person pronoun, “I,” “me,” “my,” but the unique character of his apostleship and message. Ignore this fact and confusion must inevitably result; accept it and a hundred seeming contradictions in Scripture disappear.

So as far as confusion, how might these verses you cite apply to the “theological confusion” noted above in what different writers for this religious organization have displayed in their articles cornering which of Paul’s words are those to be definitively focused on and followed today? And how might they apply to someone who posts differing and / conflicting strong doctrinal assertions in a public venue to be considered by people with varying beliefs, knowledge, and world views as far as potential for confusion?

That’s right; any authentic Christian believer that might drop by the Open Thread is apparently again being informed here that the “theological confusion in the Church today” is basically reducible to non-acceptance / “rebellion” concerning this religious organization’s take on Pauline “authority“. (From previous posts, this evidently extends to matters of baptism, what portions of Scripture should be one’s focus, and so forth — often delivered with similar levels of repetition and definitive assertion related to emphasis and / or elevation of Pauline authority.)
That the organization has had articles from writers evidently espousing different takes on what portions of Paul’s words — apparently, some deeming all of his words to be taken as “commandments of the Lord”, others emphasizing his “prison epistles”, and still others something in between — as those to be definitively focused on and followed today has been a quite interesting revelation in light of what this article asserts. Note the apparent assertion that this “rebellion” is applicable to “Christendom as a whole”, which evidently means quite a few given the definitive application of a broad brush. Perhaps one day these writers can get beyond any “theological confusion” as to which of Paul’s words have the special authority on which they insist, so that “the Church” and “Christendom as a whole” can have something to consider as far as stopping any supposed rebellion and refusal to accept whatever the final answer on that is.

Did Paul Preach A Different Gospel?
Although every man at any time is saved by the grace of God through faith, the content of faith differs from one dispensation to the next. That is, the message that is offered and believed for righteousness and salvation varies according to God’s progressive revelation.
As discussed in ‘What are the different gospels in the Bible?’ various people at sundry times were counted righteous as a result of faithful obedience to separate messages.

Where Abraham was counted righteous as a result of his obedience of faith to a promised nation, Moses taught the obedience of faith in the law for righteousness (Genesis 15:6, Deut 6:25). John the Baptist taught water baptism for remission of sins, and Jesus taught the ‘seeking the kingdom’ as a gospel worthy of righteousness (Mark 1:4, Matt 6:33).
Later the disciples witnessed the death and resurrection of the Messiah and testified of the endurance of the saints for attaining salvation (1 Peter 1:7-9). The message taught by Peter, James, and John was that Jesus was the promised Son of God, and whomever believed this truth and followed the commandments would be counted worthy of eternal life (Acts 3:26, 1 John 5:12).
Righteousness with the law
Since the beginning ministry of John the Baptist, the disciples taught the necessary obedience of faith to the covenant laws for righteousness. Although faith was always required for justification, it was the active obedience of faith to God’s instructions that would gain a righteous standing before God.
During his earthly ministry, Jesus taught, “For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 5:20)
James says, “Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone” (James 2:17).
John says, “Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous” (1 John 3:7).
Even the New Covenant promised to ‘write the laws in your hearts’ and ‘cause you to do them’ (Heb 8:10, Eze 36:27).
Therefore it was no surprise when if anyone failed to keep the strict standard of righteousness taught by Christ, then they would be condemned! [See ‘What is the New Covenant’]
“Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.” – 1 John 3:9
“For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.” – Hebrews 10:26-27
Righteousness without the law
However, Paul taught the contrary. Instead of preaching the obedience of faith towards the law for righteousness, he taught righteousness by faith only.
“But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested …” – Romans 3:21
“But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.” – Romans 4:5
In his exposition of salvation, Paul explains that we are reconciled to God while we were his enemies, disobeying the commandments and ‘strangers from the covenants’ (Eph 2:12).
“For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.” – Romans 5:10
Whereas under the message of the disciples righteousness was indicated by their deeds, Paul’s message indicates righteousness as a product of the work of Christ on the cross imputed upon those that believe (Romans 3:22-24, 2 Cor 5:21).
A Different gospel
Based upon the necessary conditions for righteousness, we can see that Paul not only taught a different message but a different gospel than the disciples. Whereas, the disciples taught faith in the Christ as the Son of God and commandment-keeping as their standard for righteousness, Paul revealed a message of trusting the function of the death and resurrection for justification (Romans 3:24-25).
Peter taught the crucifixion as the ultimate example of unjust persecution (Acts 2:23, 1 Peter 2:20-24). However, the blood of Christ was something that was necessary for the glory of the gospel preached by Paul (Col 1:14, Romans 3:24).
“But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.” – Gal 6:14
He taught the faith in Christ’s righteous atonement that grants justification apart from any works of the law (Romans 4:5). This message and gospel of grace is first taught by the Apostle Paul as it was revealed to him by Christ for he had not learned it from the disciples (Gal 1:11-12).
Misunderstanding this gospel distinction is the cause of so much confusion about salvation. To become assured of our eternal destination, a proper understanding of the righteousness without the law is needed.

“Active obedience of faith to God’s instructions?“ That’s quite a turn of a phrase to apparently rationalize the addition of one’s conduct or works –– in this case specifically as they applied to the conditional old covenant and Mosaic law — to “gain a righteous standing before God“. Again, Paul describes himself in Phil. 3:6 before hitting the road to Damascus: “concerning zeal, persecuting the church; concerning the righteousness which is in the law, blameless.” This makes quite a point as far as what someone might be doing as far as works of law but showing simultaneously where they are clearly falling short.
Psalm 14 was written while the Old Testament law was in effect and was later referenced by Paul: “What then? Are we better? Not at all. For we have already charged both Jews and Greeks all to be under sin. As it has been written: “There is none righteous; not even one” (Romans 3:9-10). In case there was any ambiguity as to how many people — save for Jesus Christ, who Paul observed in 2 Cor. 5:21 “knew no sin” — this included, he continued: “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).
These words came after Paul’s in-depth discussion earlier in the letter about judgment even for those professing to keep the law, but had actually fallen short (Romans 2:17-29). Paul further disabused evidently errant notions regarding one’s own efforts — which had already fallen short: “We Jews by birth and not ‘sinners’ of the Gentiles, nevertheless knowing that a man is not justified by works of law, except through faith from Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith from Christ, and not by works of the Law, because by works of the Law not any flesh will be justified” (Galatians 2:15-16).
Do you see any qualifiers in any of this regarding the justification of a man? Do you see any qualifiers there concerning “not any flesh“ being justified by works of the law?

Having already evaluated above (and in-depth earlier this week) the problematic “commandment-keeping“ assertion, here’s further context while comparing Scripture:
Romans 1:16 “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone believing–both to Jewish first, and to Greek.”
So now there appears to be one gospel (Gr. euangelion) for both. What gives?
Though the gospel message included the cross and the resurrection from the start of the post-ascension ministries (Acts 2:23-24), there were going to be population-specific focuses. For the Jews who received this message first, it initially centered on fulfilled prophecies and promises made to “our fathers” as both Peter did (Acts 2-5) and Paul did (Acts 13, cf. Acts 18, 28) and including the cross was part of preached to the Jews first.
Verse 8 informs verse 7. Peter’s personal connection with Jesus during Christ’s earthly ministry was an asset to the group often seeking witnesses to signs, and Paul’s reason-laden approach was a strength to the Greek-dominated culture. Nevertheless, while Peter and Paul preached with diverse emphases from Jerusalem to Mars Hill to Rome, there was unity in the essentials of salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ undergirding each declaration of the gospel in their post-ascension ministries. How the unity / sameness of those essentials was revealed to the apostles and brothers is detailed in Acts 10, 11, and 15 and includes Paul and Barnabas in the process (cf. Acts 15:2, 12, 22)
Paul’s approach to preaching the gospel (Gr. euangelion) ‘to all’ — including those Jews and those under the Law — encapsulated this focus:
“What then is my reward? That in preaching the gospel, I should offer the gospel free of charge, so as not to use up my right in the gospel. For being free from all, I myself became servant to all, so that I might win the more. And to the Jews I became like a Jew, so that I might win the Jews. To those under the Law, as under the Law (myself not being under the Law) so that I might win those under the Law. To those outside the Law, as outside the Law (not being outside the law of God, but under the law of Christ) so that I might win those outside the Law. To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all these things to all, so that by all means I might save some. Now I do all things on account of the gospel, that I might become a fellow partaker with it.” (1 Cor. 9:18-23)

This afternoon our 9 year old tabby Boots and his little sister 4 year old Tink (aka Tinkerbell) decided they really, really liked resting together in the kitchen instead of getting a quick lunch and then disappearing . . .outside. Boots, formally an inside kitty, began being defiantly outside a couple of years ago. Oh, he’d come in for a meal but then it was back outside and freedom for him. Slowly little Tink adopted his habits, although with less defiance—she’d always come when I called, was happy to come inside, but then would want to go out with her big brother. This was OK because our yard is safe and there are plenty of dry places to retreat to when it rains or gets cold. Typically, they both announce themselves at the door when they’re hungry—and of course they get fed.
Over the past few days, however, there’s been a slight change. Boots has always liked some “lap time” when me before he goes to the door asking to be let out. It’s a pleasant interlude for me and for him because, in my lap, he basically channels his former kitten self and basks in getting petted. Then he reverts to bad-ass street kitty (not really given the safety of our yard) and want’s out. Little Tink doesn’t much like laps so she usually sits next to my leg waiting to have her ears scratched. She’s a very affectionate little kitty, although she just doesn’t like sitting in laps for the extended periods that Boots does.
Yesterday and today, however, both our kittles prefered to stay in the kitchen. Both were quite curled up on separate kitchen chairs and, over the entire afternoon, showed no interest in going back outside. Then Boots wanted out and, of course, little sister Tink followed. I think what’s happening is that “outside” is no longer the kitty adventure it was previously. This is because whenever they signal they want out, I always open the door for them. And,, I do it again when they want in. Going out has ceased to be an exotic adventure for them. I think they’ve transitioned from being indoor kitties wo longed to be outside-free to be regular cats who live both outside and inside. We’ll see where this goes.

I figured out what the Patriots and Q mean when they say we’ve already won and we’re watching a show:
Premise: healing happens this way: thought, action, healing.
Think of Jesus healing the hand in synagogue. Jesus asked the main to stretch or his hand. In order to stretch or his hand the man had to think first. His hand doesn’t move on its own. It can’t. And this is sorted by…science. A thought MUST occur first. And the ONLY reason the thought would occur is because FAITH existed FIRST.
Only if the man KNEW his hand would be healed, would he believe (that his hand WOULD BE healed) enough to ACTUALLY stretch his hand forward;
which required the transmitting of information over the nervous system from his BRAIN to his muscles, to make the hand move.
Thought. Action. Based on FAITH, resulted in instantaneous healing.
In the grand scheme of things, healing a hand, in reward for acting on faith, is relatively small. So, the healing is FAST. Instantaneous, in THIS example. So, everyone SAW it happen AS IT HAPPENED.
We didn’t read that they say around for weeks, waiting for the hand to straighten, because they didn’t need to. It was small enough to heal instantly.
Well, healing the WORLD?
That takes longer. It’s…bigger, than a hand. At jest, I mean, right?
So, by relying on FAITH, a bunch of people called on God for help. In this case, a LOT of people did.
The healing happened, instantly, from the perspective of the higher dimensions.
But WE are in lower dimension, and the transmission of light from the healing hasn’t reached us yet. So to US, it seems like nothing is HAPPENING!
BUT IT HAS ALREADY HAPPENED!
We just haven’t caught up in time yet.
Our scientist tell us that the light we see in the start night is light from MILLIONS if not BILLIONS of years ago. Because the light was emitted, but it had to travel TO US. So what we’re seeing is not the NOWon that star, but it is…say 34-37 years ago on, say Arcturus? I believe it is that many light years away.
So. We prayed. God heard us, and healed the plant instantly. BUT the healing was so PROFOUND that the new look is going to be SO DIFFERENT, that the loading of the “new” is taking a long time, like we sometimes get frustrated when a book on tape takes to download.
So to God, it’s done. But WE, our consciousness is LOW, so “catching up to the change”, I’d like waiting for the light from a new star to appear. The problem is, until the light gets to us, it seems like nothing is HAPPENING.
Once the light from the star gets to us, we see it. But before it appeared, it looked like…blackness. It looked ONLY dark.
Once the light is here, WHAM!
IT’S HERE!
The fact that I’m even thinning this, means I’m right. Thought precedes action. If I hadn’t THOUGHT IT, it couldn’t be true.
Because I’m here. I’m right. We each must CHOOSE to maintain the FAITH that God wins. And then YOU will SEE the change. It’s when you lose faith that you stop REFLECTING the light.
If you don’t have FAITH that God wins, then you don’t get to participate when HE DOES WIN.
You can’t NOT HAVE FAITH, then obtain the benefits of HAVING FAITH, once you SEE that those WITH FAITH were…right.
That wouldn’t be FAIR!
Good set the rules. He told us. You must believe to benefit.
So the corollary is, you DON’T believe, then you don’t BENEFIT!
WE, in most cases will forgive a PERSON who doesn’t believe IS in a similar situation.
I CAN’T BELIEVE you sold that house!
Why, I KNEW I would. I just didn’t know WHEN.
Which means that to EVERYONE, it looked like nothing was happening. But to the one who BELIEVED, they knew they ere one day closer to the sale. So they remained EXCITED, NOT SCARED!
Like a lot of us right NOW!
We know SOMETHING is OFF, but couldn’t quite define it…till now.
The new “image file”, or whatever metaphor works for you, is “loading”. Because the healing was instantaneous, we just haven’t caught up to the light of the event yet.
We don’t know when we will, but we know it’s coming because we THINK ABOUT IT, which means…it’s REAL.
BECAUSE YOU CAN’T THINK ABOUT SOMETHING WITHOUT IT BEING REAL. Otherwise, you wouldn’t THINK ABOUT IT.
Like the hand healing. MUST think FIRST, before nerves can send SIGNAL to muscles to MOVE.
Only reason signal would be SENT is if the THINKER BELIEVED that so don’t would RESULT in healing. Otherwise, wouldn’t THINK to move hand. And SO, hand wouldn’t heal.
Hand is smaller than WORLD, so…instantaneous healing. Didn’t take long to “reload” the picture file of a new hand. Less data, faster transition time. To humans…instant.
Again, healing EARTH? BIG. Lots of data in new data file. Taking TIME, from our perspective only, to load that new data file.
We KNOW it’s coming, because we think about it. Dream about it. Wish for it. If we didn’t THINK ABOUT IT, it wouldn’t BE REAL.
SO, what we’re watching IS A MOVIE, of sorts. It’s the last part, of the last reel of THIS “reality”, while the NEW REALITY, is loading.
We MUST keep believing God has ALREADY WON, because her, we just haven’t caught up in time.
We MUST continue to believe WE see the new reality. If you don’t BELIEVE in it, you don’t get to participate.
Those aren’t MY rules. But they ARE GOD’S rules. He told us. In the Bible. You can change your thinning, and belief at any time. And he WANTS you to. But he can’t/won’t make you believe.
Just like you can’t make your non-realator friend KNOW that you WILL SELL THIS HOUSE, you just don’t know when.
But when you do…when we “catch up to the light”… It won’t be WE that are surprised. But our friends. Our family. Our…acquaintances. Who don’t believe?

Those who don’t believe, don’t get to participate.

Five satellites are in or are headed towards interstellar space. During our life times these satellites have redefined what our solar system is as their data has shown how much further the influence of our Sun reaches into space than was previously thought.
The Sun’s Heliosphere is the distance which the solar wind reaches into space. The Solar wind is a double edge sword for life on earth. It has the potential to wipe us out and we would not exist were it not for the earth magnetosphere protecting us from the solar wind. Yet we would not exist without the solar wind either because it protects us from cosmic rays that would shred our DNA. It turned out the the Heliosphere extended farther than was previously thought. Beyond the orbits of all known physical bodies and thus a new definition of our Solar System was born.
Recently read that the sun’s various cycles, such as the Grand Solar Minimum we are entering, often result in a substantial contraction of the sun’s magnetic fields and by extension the heliosphere is presumed to be affected as well. It stands to reason that it is variable, as our star surely is. Fascinating stuff.
Now if we can prevent Bill Gates from blocking the sun during a Grand Solar Minimum humanity might have a chance to explore those dynamics further!
Yes, during low solar activity the solar wind weakens. The strongest solar winds emit from the sunspots primarily and there are fewer spots during periods of low solar activity.
As for the Grand Solar Minimum? I will reserve judgement on that. Predictions of solar cycle activity are notoriously difficult to get accurate and it is way to early to say we are entering a Grand Solar Minimum.
Over at WUWT I once asked a solar scientists that comments there what is the scientific definition of a Grand Solar Minimum? His answer was “you’ll know when your in one”. IOW there is no scientific definition based on any metric for a Grand Solar Minimum”.
That being said, my personal guess is that SC 25 that we are currently in will be muted just about like SC 24 was.

I popped down to Lime, Oregon, for the big American eclipse, had solar filters for my 15×70 astronomical binoculars, and was greatly rewarded when suddenly I was seeing bright colorful prominences around the entire disc, startled me actually. Funny how despite the crudity of what we plebs might cobble together to view the universe there is still a greater sense of awe when we see it with our own eyes.

Darkness now began to fold more closely its mantle around the scene. No sun, or moon, or stars were visible. Night in heavy gloom veiled the earth.
At length Jesus said, “I thirst,” whereupon one filled a sponge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and touched his parched lips. This was too much for the infants; and at the sight, they drooped as if immortality had failed; their guardians took them in their arms and supported them.
When sufficiently recovered, they said, “We had living water from golden cups, but these cruel tormentors gave Jesus vinegar upon a sponge. Is man thus debased, thus cruel? His appearance was like one sure of victory when engaging in the final conflict – a conflict upon the issue of which depended the interests of ages. Around this scene had again congregated the hosts of vile spirits – Apollyon leading in his triumph – waving in the infernal breezes their black banners, upon which appeared the figures of Apollyon, the embodiment of evil, and Death the fell destroyer, embracing each other over the image of the cross and bleeding sacrifice. Then followed bold blasphemies, boisterous shouting, and wild demoniac laughter. The messengers of evil moved like waves of thick and black waters to and fro, while their hellish jubilee burst forth as from a compressed sea of madness and fiendish delight.
They moved around Jesus, shouting Ah ha! Ah ha! while Death was addressing him, and their triumph appeared sure.
The infants, upon beholding this scene, inquired, “Shall they triumph, and Jesus die?”

Adam Toledo was just 13 years old yet that was old enough to begin being groomed for membership in a street gang, whose territory included Chicago’s Little Village neighborhood.
It was this association that led to him being shot and killed by police right as he tossed the gun that was clearly in his hand behind a fence, out of view of the pursuing officer.
This pandemic and the forced closures of schools has wrought a massive uptick in recruitment for the gangs here, teenagers with too much free time and not enough structure.
The after school and jobs programs for at risk youth were paused, gang intervention programs, too.
So a 13 year old runs with a gun in his hand through these mean streets at 2:30 am, and it’s the policeman’s fault that he was shot and killed?
If I state the true facts as I have above I’m racist because I’m white, according to some of the protestors.
The truth is that tv reporters that I know wanted to expose Toledo’s gang affiliation yet were told not to by managers above them.
This tragedy is being fully exploited by the media for clicks on the web.
Five, six years ago thousands of people would have marched through Little Village demanding that the gangs be removed and prosecuted.
I wonder what kind of havoc gun toting 13 year old Adam Toledo would have caused had he grown up.

This is just the tip of the unintended consequences of “green” energy. It should be noted that nobody is recycling the blades from wind turbines. It is just not economically feasible! So where are those worn out blades going? Into landfills of course!
Agree this is a concern. I believe Volkswagen is working on being able to address its own products at the end of their life, and I believe all manufacturers should be aiming for ensuring their batteries are readily recyclable and for assuming responsibility for ensuring resources exist to do so.
There are developments afoot in this arena, some seem very promising and even environment friendly:
