I had presumed the mask issue was split maybe 50-50 but was disappointed a few months ago to see a poll with vast majorities in favor and who believed they worked (a teacher in my school declared “masks are absolutely scientifically PROVEN to work” – no, not an English or Art teacher, but a SCIENCE teacher, I digress), in the 70-85 percentages, even Republicans.
Maybe the poll wasn’t the best, but if anywhere close to reality, it tells me we’re literally years away from freedom ftom mask enslavement. ?
I passed a guy (without a helmet) riding his bike against the traffic on a busy one-way street. But with a mask. That’s human logic. Mostly superstition. The mask was his lucky talisman.

My sister-in-law”s daughter said 2020 was the best year of her life…new house, new baby, new car; hubby & she got paid maternity leave; then were able to work from home; grandparents babysat (for free) the baby so they could go work out, go have dinners with friends, get their work done at home or whatever; 2021 looks to be more of the same, as they’re expecting a 2nd baby this summer. I don’t think this rosy picture can last too much longer, even if they do vote Democrat. Totally oblivious to anyone else’s lives, so long as you get vaccinated & don’t bring the virus into their home.

I have gone mostly maskless for the past year. I have been confronted a few times. Sometimes I just leave, sometimes I just ignore and keep going. I try to be polite and avoid confrontation. But I am at the point where one of these times I am going to lose it and go off on someone. The next time someone tells me I can use curbside or drive-through I am going to tell them the person who is afraid of being near me because I don’t wear a mask is the person who should be going to the drive-through. I have rights too.
