You are not understanding my comments. Fundamentally this is all about who actually is our enemy. It is much easier logically to go toe to toe with fascists and Marxists because they are well defined. Today we are also up against people obsessed with race and equity. But our side this time catastrophically believes the enemy are a cabal who are motivated by greed and lust for power i.e. a not very well defined enemy. This has resulted in our side attracting fruit-loops and conspiracy nutters. Exactly the type of people who can easily discredit your side.
We have areas of agreement.
There are blurring lines when contrasted with fascists and marxists of the past. This is provable when examining the founders of blm and what they advocate by proudly proclaiming themselves trained marxists. Their agenda is bigger than race, their goal is Marxism.
There are also blurring lines regarding those who are greedy and seeking power. This is provable when looking at the outsourcing of US manufacturing jobs over the last thirty years and watching the rise of global corporations and how they are friendly to those who advocate for sending more US jobs overseas. Look how they opposed President Trump rejecting Obama’s statements about “managing the decline” of the US by bringing manufacturing jobs back.
Main Street boomed at the expense of globalist corporations.

I’m not solidly behind the idea that Pence committed treason here. Pence may have been acting the part so that the whole house of cards could be done away with. That said, it’s a very real possibility that he acted on his own and committed treason.

Here are my thoughts on that.
I’ve always wondered why it was a straight arrow guy like Pence, who had a lot of knowledge of how politics worked (six terms in the House, Governor of Indiana) said to himself when offered the Veep slot, “Yes, I’ll be on the ticket.”
First, I have to believe he would have consulted with political people, his own staff, and pols on the Hill he’d served with, and asked, “Will it destroy my career if I link myself to this guy?”
Logic says he got two different answers: 1) “Hell, yeah, stay as far away from this lunatic as you can. He’s crazy. He knows nothing about leading a country and we don’t know what the hell he’ll do. He’s unpredictable. Mike, you have nothing to gain and everything to lose. The second he says something horrible, you will forever be linked to him. Besides, he’s not going to win anyway so what do you gain?”
The opposite advice: “Well Mike, he’s not gonna win, and maybe you can actually get the guy to listen to you before he says things that will forever destroy the Republican brand. Mike, you’re a calming influence on people. He NEEDS that. We can’t let him destroy our party so you’re probably one of the few guys who can temper his silliness and have a talk with him when he goes totally off the reservation.”
“Plus, the Party will forever be indebted to you for doing this, and will pay you back the next Presidential election. Depending on how you conduct yourself, you could very well be paid back with being their choice as the nominee in 2020. Now, those were the two sides. Obviously Pence went with the second.
Then, the impossible happened. It actually began to look as if Trump was making a race out of it. Pence had the real numbers, not the false polls, but it still looked as if they’ lose. Still, Trump was viable and that would have caused Pence to be approached by God knows who.
Who could blame any of them, including Pence, for saying to other or to themselves, “I don’t what to think of this guy.”
It’s impossible at this point to know how Trump came off to Pence in their private conversations. There are at least a few Donald Trump personas. Which is real? Or are they all real, just different facets of the man? Or are those personas acts in order to advance whatever it is he’s trying to advance?
He’s creative. He’s thoughtful. He’s quiet. He’s a good listener. He asks others for their opinions. He tests the opinions of others with insightful questions. He’s grateful. He’s charitable. He cares about others.
He’s bombastic. He’s vulgar. He’s narcissistic. He’s thin-skinned. He’s full of thoughts that go against the grain of the way business as usual is conducted. He loves and seeks attention.
He loves America. He hates to see America and Americans taken advantage of.
That’s this man. Which is real or are they all real? Which man did Pence get to see.
After all, when we get to know someone, not all parts of that person are revealed in a short time so how much of the man and which parts of the man were revealed to Mike Pence. Did Donald Trump let it all hang out to this guy he just met? Was he on his best behavior in private with Pence?
That’s why I asked earlier, how much of Donald Trump is real and how much is a constructed persona? How did Mike Pence view Trump in the middle of the campaign? After they won? Did Pence have reason to trust Trump or had he seen indications that he really DID need to be a steadying force for him?
He was, after all, a complete novice at this stuff. Making matters worse for Trump was that the media was already out in full force to undermine him, and he wasn’t a lawyer who understood that the phrasing of what a President of the United States says can be used against him by enemies, both foreign AND domestic
Did Trump feel comfortable enough with Pence to trust him? I’d think a businessman such as Trump wouldn’t give complete trust to anyone at this point but he WAS a fish out of water and whatever it is DJT thought he knew about the corruption was only 1/100th of what it really was.
I have no way of knowing the answers to these questions, but were I in Mike Pence’s shoes, I would have been open to listening to people and then telling them, “He’s not what you think, but it’s true, I don’t really know him.”
The Flynn things always sounded to me as if Pence was in the same position Trump was in–neither really knew the other, couldn’t fully trust the other, didn’t yet know how deep were the forces already trying to frame Trump and the administration and Pence could be the victim of collateral damage.
My understanding is that no politician ever really trusts another fully. There are forces operating on them, their staffs and advisors, especially, that often provoke distrust between them.
It’s quite the norm for Presidents to hold back all they know from their Veep until they feel safe sharing it.
So, I am still not person that believe Mike Pence himself set out from the get-go to undermine Trump. I think he accepted the nomination for the reasons I laid out in the beginning of this post. His reasons were NOT dishonorable as I understand that word.
I’m just trying to apply what I know of politics, of human nature, and of the difficulty of the circumstances of having a “character” like Donald Trump, an unknown political entity, thrown into this mix out of the blue, really.
Do I think Pence set out to frame Trump and did he arrive at the end of the admin trying to politically “kill” Trump forever?
I say “no” to the first and “I don’t think so” to the second. That doesn’t mean Pence did the “right thing” the other day. “The right thing” is sometimes hard to define. There is so much we don’t know.
I’ll say this: right now, every damned gop senator and House member and Pence included needs to be emailed and asked, “Just why the hell did you not reign in Big Tech when you had the means and how the eff do you sit there now and tell us Americans that you haven’t allowed our speech and rights to be trampled upon while you effing remained mum about the election theft?

Appears that there were numerous occasions were the mailed election canvass came back Undeliverable, but Surprise, Surprise an Absentee ballot was requested.
What they were writing about was getting their Information Technology team. Develope a program to help determine between the two lists as to how bad the mail in Absentee ballot fraud is. Again this was in 2004. Guess practice makes perfect.

That realization came to me only after leaving the Capitol grounds @ dark:thirty on the 6th. By that time, I’d say the number of people at the Capitol would have whittled itself down to under 1/10th of the daytime presence… well under 100,000 (guess). And only after I’d been able to receive some online news reports that a ‘riot” was happening where I’d just (safely & happily) spent the previous ~4+ hours…

By watching the hours of video evidence out on the web that the black sweatshirt crowd seems like they learned these ops from a farm of some sort, and in some instances where the capital police took down barricades and invited the real maga people in, why were black sweatshirt people already inside with cameras? Good questions. I was there as well and what you report is what I experienced as well. 9 hrs between arriving at Capitol, walking to the Elipse, back to the Capitol and finaaly leaving after heavy tear gas and heavy police pressure to vacate, I left.
The only violence I saw all day was those trying to enter the archway, and the smashing of the window to the left. Who was doing those acts? I don’t know for sure, maybe Antifa?
What I did see were people peacefully gathering, listening, singing, praising, praying, walking. As I walked back down the Mall in the dark, passed only a couple of people, to the subway station at the Smithsonian, I was amazed by the lack of trash. The Mall was probably cleaner now then before the event. Nothing broken, nothing destroyed.

I was on the sidewalk in front of the Capital when people were breaking thru the barriers. There were people who looked more like Antifa types than MAGA folks screaming at people to join in the surge.

I knew that someone was going to get killed before the day was through. Our little group decided it was time to leave before things got out of hand.

You missed the plethora of videos showing antifa not only bringing weapons, but initiating the breach on the capitol building and encouraging others hard to enter. You missed that there is now personal testimony of them being paid. You missed that President Trump specifically called for a peaceable assembly. You missed that even the lying NYT has admitted that President Trump actually wanted the National Guard present. You missed that the DC police sent home many who were scheduled to work that day. You missed that there are videos of those same DC police literally opening the barriers themselves. You missed that many who were there had never been to our nation’s capitol before and thought the police who were beckoning them in were actually offering what are known to be public tours. You missed the videos inside the capitol building of those “conspiracy nutters” respectfully walking along the tour route, staying outside the velvet ropes, and gaping in awe at the history and the artwork, taking pictures – including selfies with those same DC police.
You missed that those “conspiracy nutters” have seen personal testimonies of people who observed fraud in the different states, who saw the numbers of Trump votes literally going DOWN on even the MSM chyrons the same number of votes as Biden’s vote numbers went up, the lengthy video exposing the suitcases brought out from under the table after shooing away all of the poll watchers in GA, you missed the threats to poll watchers in Philadelphia, you missed that more than 200,000 mail-in votes were received back in PA than were even mailed out, you missed that the numbers in MI were literally impossible and that their largest county is on video covering up the windows to exclude poll watchers, you missed that all of this and more has never – NOT ONCE – been actually adjudicated in a court of law, and that even the Supreme Court declined to hear a case which by definition only they could hear – and should have. You missed that even Dominion employees have testified to what they did and now it is under oath and in Court. (Unfortunately it is in an Italian court, but that’s only because nobody here would hear it). And more. Gee, I wonder why those “conspiracy nutters” wanted to show up in support of someone they KNOW won in a massive landslide.
