Mayor Ted Wheeler has allowed wholesale anarchy to run amok in the streets of Portland, Oregon, while using the attempts by President Trump to stop the violence as an excuse to call Trump an authoritarian dictator.
However, with the possibility of a change in administration it is no longer in the interests of the totalitarian state for random acts of violence to be associated with the severe-leftist cause. As a result, Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler now says Antifa violence cannot be tolerated any longer. WATCH:

And to think it wasn’t that many decades ago at all when Portland was voted most livable city in America. Now it might make most livable city if it was in Somalia or Afghanistan.
I must have missed that growing up in Eugene in the 50s. Portland was never a place to move to that I know of, especially compared to the rest of the beautiful towns and cities in Oregon.
I lived in West Linn for a year (a wealthy Portland suburb) in 2000-2001. Downtown Portland the was absolutely beautiful. Of course there were shitty areas, and hippy-dippy areas (also charming in their own way), but most of Portland gave you this feeling that ‘this is what a city should be like’. Looks like a shithole now. I live in So-Cal now, and yes, it’s a shithole, but Portland now makes it seem like paradise here.
I lived in Dunthorpe for 20 years and now am in Forest Heights – both not far from downtown. I’m listing my house next week and will probably move to Rancho Mirage. I raised my kids here and it was great for a long time – I’m not sure how this place got so far left..although it wasn’t really like TX or FL but at least it was under control. A couple months ago BLM decided to harass downtown Lake Oswego and people had to get up and leave their lunches rather than be screamed at by a mob. I’ve driven through downtown a few times – in the daytime. It looked like a war zone but after the election I did notice that some of the plywood got taken off windows on NW 23rd.
I feel there is no one to protect us here….it’s a fine line between civilized or not – if the mob comes to my neighborhood it wouldn’t be hard or them to do. I’m sad to leave but enough is enough – I’m FED UP.
We fled PDX in 2015 for Idaho and love it. Breaks my heart to see all the lawlessness. Best friend who was a Multnomah County Sheriff just retired to get out of the crazy.

Some friends moved there about 10-12 years ago. I have visited twice and loved both trips. Took the light rail from the airport, saw a great art exhibit at the museum, shopped at Powells Books, waited in line for some of those donuts, walked through the Japanese Gardens, and of course rode bikes all over.
Not sure that I would go back now. We walked through that park that someone tried to blow-up. I wouldn’t feel safe there! My friends are thinking about renting a beach house here on the East Coast for a few months.
My yearly January trip to NYC is a thing of the past now.

There have been rumblings about Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office taking over the policing functions for the City of Portland and absorbing their agency. Portland did that to most of Multnomah County in the early 1990s. Their current Sheriff is the former chief of Portland. Making a move might get PPB out of a federal consent decree and would get their police bureau away from some of the lunatic city council members.
Oh and just a reminder – Oregon has had mail-in voting since 1989. The ballots are opened weeks prior to “election night” in secret rooms and the “count” is announced at 8PM on election night. Highly unlikely these so called elections are organic or credible. Oregon hasn’t had a republican governor since mail-in voting was put in place. Or virtually any republican statewide officer holders. Probably just coincidental.

I always used to want to take a vacation to see Oregon because I like mountains, rivers, beautiful coastlines, and friendly people. I never even consider that place anymore. Portland is an ugly blight on the whole State. I never needed to go to Oregon anyway.
Many years ago both Oregon and the State of Washington were run and managed by Republican Government leaders. Peace, prosperity, cleanliness, businesses and respect for neighbors prevailed. Any person, organization or group Intentionally causing destruction of a business or private property would be arrested, incarcerated and stand before a Judge in a courtroom prior to a plea and sentencing.
