I think the facts are true, I don’t necessarily buy the opinion of it being political suicide. The public isn’t informed enough to care about the pork, most just want their “free” money. Once elected, these people really don’t care about the political optics other than the theatre. The uniparty takes care of itself.
His easy agreement to pass the behemoth DID strike me as more of a stall tactic, and knowing it dies on 1/4 without them gyrating really makes me smile.
His latest chess move has worked. The House has voted to increase the benefit to two thousand dollars, and now it goes to the Senate for a vote. Since his rescission included the other aspects of the bill, I would assume that these too will receive a vote. I have not read about that in any media today. The House also voted to veto the presidential veto of the defense bill and it now goes to the Senate for their vote of his veto either today or tomorrow. Again, who knows what will happen in the Senate. I am of the opinion that the Republicans of the Senate cannot further alienate their base by vetoing the President’s veto in view of the upcoming senate race in Georgia.

In a logical world, and if they actually WERE the conservatives they claim to be when they run for election, they wouldn’t.
But the election is over for those already seated, and they are unwilling to fight for Trump or the country even with evidence of election fraud. They are almost NEVER what they claim to be when running for re-election and they despise Trump and all who support him. Their lip service is nothing, their actions are everything.
They will burn Trump, and all of us who support him, sadly. Then they will go to a cocktail party with their uniparty democrat friends.

Gavin, Ratcliffe was refused the post by Mitch McConnell and Senate Unintelligent Committee at first. So, Trump fired Coates and replaced him temporarily with Grenell (already vetted as German Ambassador). Grenell was so great at releasing classified docs and declassifying Schiff’s bs depos, the Senate quickly decided to let Trump have his pick in Ratcliffe.
Ric Grenell remains my hero, and if his health permits, I hope he plays a big role with Trump in the future.

You would think that, at a minimum, we have the right to know how our votes are counted, but apparently not. If we are not allowed to know how the vote is counted then foreign interference is probably above our security clearance. Conservatives have been cut out of their own system.

My “conservative” GOP rep voted “yes”. He also emailed me back last week to tell me he has “no role” in the choosing of electors. Lots of government in my area, so he’s voting for the money to keep rolling in and avoid a shutdown.

I like the “get better leaders” idea.
How about just getting some leaders? There are no good leaders or bad leaders. A person is a leader or is not a leader. Just because a person is in a position of supervision, management, responsibility, or leadership, that person is not automatically a leader. I’ve known and seen a lot of people in positions of responsibility. Very, very few were leaders. The vast majority were incredibly poor supervisors and should not have been anywhere near a position of responsibility and supervision. Some people are born leaders. Very few people can grow into being a leader. A leader is someone who other people want to follow and do good work. Not kiss their ass or be yes people, but want to truly do good work for whatever the cause is.
We have very few people in politics and business today that are leaders. Kristi Noem is a leader. President Trump is a leader. Jack Welch (GE) was a leader. President Reagan was a leader. Steve Jobs was a leader. Andrew Carnegie was a leader. General Patton was a leader. Robert E. Lee was a leader. Crazy Horse was a leader. Gene Kranz was a leader. George Washington was a leader. Only three of my direct supervisors during my career were leaders. Those three are the kind of people that cause me to think, when I am in a jam, what would so and so do in a situation like this? I can usually come up with a good solution in short order.
Leaders lead from the front and bring out the best in the people that work for them. They don’t ask or direct anyone to do anything they would not do or have not done themselves. Who else in swamp land is like that? Who in business or politics today is like that? I know of very, very few people today that are leaders, and have known even fewer during my career and lifetime that were leaders.

Jack Welch was an ass. He advocated a HR system that removed 10% of personnel during performance reviews, which was adopted by Sprint when I worked there. I saw several of my coworkers laid off, even though they were good performers, due to this idiotic program.

“We need new … Republican leadership:” if he had started with that drumbeat 4 years ago we might be in a different place. If elections were legitimate, I would guess he could haver removed at least Lindsey and McConnell but that would require people to have the courage to vote against them in the general. Since that courage is not there, there really is no mechanism to get new leadership. Removing them in the primary does not work because they have protected themselves.
I guess late is better than never. Personally, I would like to see this extended beyond leadership to cover almost the entire party, perhaps “We need a new party.”

If the situation were reversed, there would be no question as to whether the left would stand up; they would be jumping!
1 week to Jan 6 ….. not enough time for any court actions or swing state legislators decisions to have an impact on Jan 6 ….. personally I think it is highly unlikely that the Pence strategy and/or Senate/House members’ objections strategy will succeed.
However what happens if there is so much chaos and disruption in DC due to the MAGA crowds that many of the House and Senate members cannot take their seats and the Jan 6 procedures cannot take place? Would the meeting be deferred until a later date and would this be advantageous to the PDJT cause?
At this point, two prez taking oaths at the same time is not a distinct possibility.

We’ve been drifting toward oblivion for decades and this will not be fixed by one man in 4 or 8 years. It will take a massive effort and perhaps a generation to fix. I’m hearing from people in many areas, and have personally experienced, what seems to be a major slowdown in the US mail.
What could be behind this?
I heard it’s head colds. I assume that if you have the sniffles, you’re told to stay home due to covid scare. Hence the slowdown.
My mail carrier told me that many co-workers are taking advantage of the free vacay. Just like everywhere else, they are having trouble finding people who want to work.
Slow it’s beyond slow. A priority envelope was mailed from Illinois on 12/16 and arrived at Phoenix on 12/17. However it took 11 days to get from Phoenix to Scottsdale. I could have walked to Phoenix and back in less time.

Same here. Critically important priority mailing sent 12/11 with a promised delivery of 12/14. Stuck in Illinois for over a week, finally arrived at the destination address on 12/21. Almost messed up something huge for my family!
Many/most people shopped online. And there is a major shortage of workers, due to the plandemic.
My friend works for USPS, and she told me, as an example, the distribution center in Nashua is filled. Completely. And there were 72-75 trailers parked outside, waiting to be unloaded. Filled.
I’ve heard reports of this all across the country, from sellers in my online group. Even Priority is taking 2-3 weeks.
USPS is on its azz. Personally, I’m waiting three weeks or more for first class packages. Daily mail still shows but later and later in the day. I should say night as last night the carrier delivered at about 9:30 pm. Anything ordered via Amazon–no problem whatsoever. Orders show up on date given.

With PT recent change to the Dept of Def succession order where the Sec of the Army was removed and replaced by a team of Secretaries, it tells me PT may have questions about the Army (Not any of the SPecial Forces)
Because of this IMO they are worth keeping an eye on and where and possibly who they pick up.

OK now it is getting weird as R1944 just did a low pass at Rickenbacker Airport near Columbus and is climbing out.
Again can both be training flights or distraction legs? I’ll keep watching as their is a 3rd Army Priority Air Transport in the air now as well along with a Venus flight that just left Andrews heading South.
How would you characterize the level of activity you’re seeing this AM?
IMO, Army picking up their allies while 89th Wing picking up PT team today for the great showdown in DC that is coming.

Venus 30 a 737 just quit transmitting 17 min ago near Wilmington at 4,000 feet.
FWIW, to maintain a pilot’s license a person must make 3 take offs and landings every 90 days. It is not surprising that pilots are doing touch and go’s at this time of year.

What I’m seeing is a race track from Andrews down to Wilmington and back, looks like training to me. Currently this aircraft, a Gulf 5 VENUS67 Hex: AE6962, 737, VENUS30 Hex: AE0945, and KC 135, DECEE03 Hex: AE038B on the track. The 135 was in trail behind the G5 at same altitude then appears now to be veering southeasterly from the track.
Do you see Venus 30?
R103O1 spent 14 minutes on the ground at State College, PA and now looks to be high-tailing it back towards Andrews.

Looks like Venus 30 stopped in Wilmington. Speculation that this could be Eric and Lara Trump as that is where she is from I believe and only Presidential planes would be used for family and Venus designation is not a VIP which is technically what Eric and Lara would be classified as.

The “TROLL” screeching has grown pretty tiresome.
Its worth acknowledging that we each process the grief, cold anger, hope, and other emotions about the republic we love in very different ways. Your optimism is someone else’s Pollyanna. Your realism may be someone else’s Eeyore-ism (is that a word?). We tend to read far more into a short typed post than is necessary. Imploring each other to action or faith gets people defensive, or stating one’s faith in the future or skepticism of a politician gets the usual badgering back and forth.
None of it is reason to start sniping at each other when we need the entire breadth and depth of the faithful in the difficult weeks and months to come.

The timing is definitely interesting.
When I first read it I had a quick thought “Can’t have both the President and Vice President in country if President Trump goes for the brass ring. We may need the VP offshore to set up a government in absentia in order to carry on the fight, negotiate with allies and to represent the patriots here on the home front. Nah never mind, I’ve read one article too many on deposed governments”.
Interesting that a trip like this would be scheduled for a VP of an administration that would no longer be in charge a week later.

Albertus, for what it is worth, I jut read an article that stated the Senate vote on the $600 to $2,000 direct payment bill would be like other House funding bills needing a 60 vote majority instead of a 2/3 (67 votes) majority vote.

We see this when social media giants regularly censor and ban individuals who run afoul of liberal orthodoxy. Less noticed is the threat of financial de-platforming. This growing menace means those who dissent from the official left-wing line won’t even be allowed to bank or use a credit card. Fortunately, there is a new proposal that could put an end to this nefarious trend.
The Office of Comptroller of the Currency recently drafted the “Fair Access to Financial Services” rule that would ban major banks from denying service to customers for non-financial reasons. The public can currently offer its opinion on the proposal through Regulations.gov.
It stipulates that major banks may “not deny any person a financial service the bank offers except to the extent justified by such person’s quantified and documented failure to meet quantitative, impartial risk-based standards established in advance by the covered bank.”
So if a customer has solid financial credentials, the bank cannot deny him service even if they find his political views “offensive.

I have checked out our local shelter, very slim pickings for a pup and a breed that will fit my life style. I’ll most likely get my pup from a licensed breeder of hunting dogs, I prefer labs. I do avoid puppy mills.

I go out (maskless) and support our small businesses every chance I get. I can even find things that are not made in China.

You are right. The masks won’t protect you from the flu or the chicken pox. My teenage daughter contracted the chicken pox with everyone wearing masks and socially distancing. There has also been an uptick in bacterial pneumonia among school students. And I am in Florida.

My dogs adore him and try to pull me into the exam room! And apparently, I’m not the only client who likes him because—unless it’s urgent or an emergency—it can take several weeks to get an appointment.
He’s also got a sign in the clinic window saying that concealed-carrying clients are welcome to come in just as they are. Yep, he’s just about perfect! lol I’m very, very fortunate to have found him.
