While the topic of the meeting today is briefly mentioned within the resignation letter, that subject matter is conspicuously absent from the body of content. As with the entire career of Bill Barr, this could be interpreted two ways.

♦ By resigning Bill Barr just inoculated himself from criticism if he was to support the DOJ findings of election investigations from outside offices.
Given Bill Barr’s history of conduct in the DOJ approach to the Flynn case (cowardice), the former seems most likely.
It also does not seem coincidental this resignation decision was reached on the same day the Daily Mail published a highly critical article about Bill Barr’s decision-making during the 2020 election cycle.

Barr’s first paragraph gave the reason for the meeting today, and Trump obviously wasn’t satisfied with Barr’s actions and asked for his resignation. The matter is pressing and there’s no time to waste, so Trump is rolling the dice with a replacement.
I doubt l’affaire Biden affected Trump’s decision right now. He’s got to defeat the election steal. That’s job one. Barr screwed Trump on the Biden thing, but his survival depends on defeating these election thieves, and if Barr was fully committed to that he’d likely be staying, but he’s not so he got fired.

Since Barr had no accomplishments, the majority of accomplishments were President Trump’s. While we needed a AG who would have left no stone unturned, we got an AG with no stones.

I thought AG Barr’s resignation letter was beautiful in that it puts in writing the strength with which President Trump has had enduring the weapons thrown against him by our own agencies; and it was a lovely good-bye tweet from President Trump.
