Both sides will be able to present evidence possibly as early as Friday.

and/or

We have the view the press reports about Swalwell and Hunter through the lens of how the DC establishment works. One of their “things” when they’ve lost credibility and legitimacy is to try and rebuild that by doing some things they typically do not do. In this case, we suddenly learn about Swalwell – though that has probably been known about for quite some time – and we also learn that something might be going on with Biden’s tax returns. We get both of these after they think they are “in the clear” with Joe Biden getting elected.
Both of these stories are all about the Government Party trying to make it look like they’re going to enforce the law. In the case of Swalwell, he’s a toad, I doubt anybody likes him, and so they throw him to the wolves because word is out that China has bought and paid for wide swaths of the D.C. political, media and financial establishments. They need a sacrificial lamb to keep the pitchforks at bay. With Biden, this is more likely about the FBI posturing with Joe Biden about how things are “going to work” going forward. I’m sure the Hunter thing goes away quietly. Maybe The Big Guy even lets them take out Hunter since he’s a bit of a problem, and Joe still has his brother to collect for the family.
Your average person watching all this thinks (as he is told to do), “Gosh, maybe all this stuff about the media and the government not enforcing the laws is fake, and the FBI really does investigate criminality inside the Government.” That’s what we are meant to think. Just as we are meant to think that giving money and voting in GA next month has to be done to “save the Senate” and “save the Court”.
You know, the Senate that blocked our agenda, appointed Leftist judges, blocked Trump’s nominees, prevented recess appointments, etc. and the Courts that refused to even discuss election fraud, hear evidence, hear witnesses, and in the case of that judge in MI flatly state that even if all the fraud were proven he wouldn’t have done anything about it anyway. Oh, and the Court that could barely muster a 5-4 win telling the States that they can’t bar people from going to church unless they also bar restaurants the same way (casinos are another story).
So, fun as it is to mock Swalwell, he’s the sacrificial lamb that they hope keeps you from looking at what China has been doing in DC, and it also distracts from Hunter who is being investigated for the sole purpose of keeping up appearances and the FBI trying to throw its weight around with Biden.
In another time I would have thought this cynical. Now, I think it clear eyed and well stated.

On former CTH it showed the individual names of who liked each post. That is missing now– all we see is the overall number of likes.
I preferred the earlier version of knowing who liked what.
I liked seeing the persons avatar in the “recent comments” column that way I could easily see who is commenting and pop on over as there are some who’s comments i particular enjoy reading…..if that could return I think it waould be so cool…….or just put the persons name in bold would be helpful…..Oh, well, probably an impossibility. Cruz recently said he does not want to be on the Supreme Court but to run again for POTUS. Trump must have a reason why he wants Cruz to argue the case.

Yes, I know that. But, as other Treepers have speculated, why was Cruz so eager to argue the case in the first place. It may be that he wants to run for POTUS in 2024 and score a notch on his belt to help that cause.
Probably true, but is that a reason to be upset about him arguing the case? I am a Texan, and I know he’s not 100% MAGA, but he’s at least 80%. At least he loves America. His problem with Trump was the same as mine. Didn’t know if we could trust Trump. But he’s earned our trust, and Cruz is now on his side. Unfortunately for him, he has negative charisma.
Now Cornyn is a lying dog faced pony soldier and I don’t trust him at all. I voted against him in the primaries and I will continue to oppose him, but he plays the game of pretend conservative very well and keeps getting re-elected.
Cruz will be great. If Cruz makes Trump look bad, he will make himself look incompetent. I don’t think he would do that, personally.

I am hopeful for Pres.Trump. I haven’t gotten past his rant on the floor of the NRC against Pres. Trump. Honestly, I will never vote for a Democrat. But, I do not want Cruz as President.

That does seem very plausible (for a variety of reasons).
The Soviets were famous in the early 80’s for their procession of dead Premiers. Nobody thought any of those guys were in charge (e.g. Yuri Andropov). They were there to keep up appearances and provide the patina of legitimacy to the State. There’s a lot of usefulness in a mentally incapacitated President in terms of Communist takeovers. Hell, they could get Biden to resign and he’d forget within a couple of days, and they could build him an office in Delaware that looks like the Oval Office and pretend he’s President until he dies.
Actually our president will be serving a second term. We know this, and so do they.
