As we work through bugs associated with CTH 2.0 launch, consider this a thread to provide information, report user issues, ideas and concerns. Please read the information provided below as it might answer many questions in advance.
Again, my sincere apologies for any site disruption and/or user issues you may have encountered or might be continuing to encounter as we level the ship.
The majority of major site issues have been reconciled over the past 36 hrs. CTH 2.0 is flying even and stable.
The DNS issues are resolved, and all inbound links to TheConservativeTreehouse.Com should now be landing on the correct and most recent homepage. There was an issue with dual cache conflict between our new server host and a mid-way cache service intended to assist with the overall site demand. That was causing older pages to propagate upon user entry. That problem has been resolved.
Given the short time-window we were operating with; and considering the objective of Big Tech Automattic to disrupt an ongoing conversation adverse to their interests; we succeeded in keeping the CTH community voice in the fight. Trust me, this was no small effort to achieve and is cause for much appreciation and celebration in the big picture.
The rebel alliance is alive, well and we have made new ‘rag tag’ misfit friends. Your support was/is critical in achieving that objective. We are humbled and thankful.
Now that we have an essentially fully-functioning architecture in place, we are able to start a slow and methodical process to enhance the features most important to our community.
Each feature must be installed, applied and evaluated for downstream issues. It is a painstaking process and takes a little time to ensure we don’t attach a feature that creates an imbalance or impact upon the essential functions of the site.
CTH is modeled on an eleven year-old platform theme. It is reliable, but it is also clunky, heavy and not as streamline as modern tech can provide. As described, CTH is a heavy data-tank on a highway with the ability to collapse the road. We need to modernize and get faster while retaining the depth and purposeful mission priority.
To the details:
♦ 50% of site traffic comes from desktop/laptop computer use, and 50% comes from mobile devices (phones, pads etc). This is one of the issues with our older theme still in place, and a team is working on it right now. When CTH first launched mobile platforms were in their infancy, in the modern era mobile devices are now the norm.
We need to change our theme platform to be responsive to the type of device you are using making it easier to navigate the site from phones and iPad type devices. The engineers are working on a proposal, and a test site is experimenting. The good news is our site content is not complex and the modernization should not be too difficult. In essence, CTH presents itself differently, more user friendly, depending on the type of device you are using.
♦ One of our priorities right now is establishing an email notification system where you can subscribe to automatic notifications of new posts etc. As with almost all systems of this type (there are many) it involves the use of a third party email transmission process. Y’all are aware that privacy is a CTH priority, so we are being very careful about vetting the service and setting up this notification system to protect CTH users.
CTH does not compile user information, does not engage in the manufacture of processes that assemble lists of users or any user data. We are working to ensure we do not end up creating an external list of subscribers that would be vulnerable to exploitation. Your privacy in all matters related to CTH engagement is my priority.
♦ Next, we are working on a return of the “like comments” feature in some manner or form. The issue with a like feature is a direct all-time link between the user engagement and the host server. In essence, to have a “like feature” there is a continual feed every millisecond attached to the server. That is ok, but as with all things in tech world can create a draw -own of site performance given the scale of our assembly.
Don’t worry about “likes” being off-the-table, they are not. This function is actually important to me, and we will restore them because that engagement is actually a precursor to something else, something unique, that I want to see on the site. A sidebar on the page drawing attention to the top ten highest-rated comments in a real time feed. You click on the user name, or perhaps the avatar, and it takes you to the comment.
♦ Another new feature I want to execute is a “most liked articles” widget. Similar to most liked comments, this would be a real-time propagated graphic showing the articles that users are most following or reading on other sites. Instead of me aggregating the information and/or directing attention to interesting external articles, this awesome community of smart commentators can do that themselves.
In essence, you share links to important external articles or content in the comments, and the top five articles (as clicked/read by commentators) automatically shows up in this sidebar feature: “Hot Topics and Articles.” [This is a little challenging, but the technology exists to accomplish it.]
♦ The team is also working on restoring a system that will allow embed pictures, tweets and videos to populate in the comments section. This is a process/system called “OEmbed Comments”. We needed to reconcile the scale of server use/demand by the commenting system before we could contemplate this feature.
Now that we have a dual library system in place for the 7.5 million comments, we can start the process of evaluating server capacity for OEmbed functions. It is not a matter of “if” this will happen, it is simply a matter of when those functions return.
When you write a comment it creates a metadata file. Each comment is a unique url. Your unique id is part of that metadata, your gravatar or avatar is part of that metadata, the content of your comment (what you write) is part of that metadata and any article links, citations, pictures, gifs, or tweets -each carrying a unique url- is part of that metadata.
The average number of lines of unique metadata in one comment is six to ten lines of code, regardless of the length of your comment. Your comment creates a mini data-file with its own unique id (the url). The library of pre-existing comments was 7.2 million. Multiply that by the lines of metadata and you get well over 40 million lines of code in the pre-existing comment file alone. (more)
Again, it is important to remember much of this server capacity exploration is in uncharted territory on a non-social-media platform. Fortunately, we have the ability to scale-up; our server hosts are just trying to figure out the actual scale we need.
Thanks again for bearing with us as we work through some technical issues, search for optimal solutions, and fiercely retain the original values and mission priority of the Treehouse. The Truth Has No Agenda
Myself and the incredibly hardworking site admins consider ourselves stewards to this community. YOU are what matters. Your ability to analyze, discuss and provide your comments on the subject matter is what makes CTH home. We will NEVER remove a commenting function from our website.
In fact, it is the crowd-sourcing work we have done as a community that has been the most thrilling and brilliant part of our work together. I will never lose that focus. The key to Treehouse 2.0 is recognizing we have built something within a system that wants to see us removed. By being proactive we have avoided some serious challenges and that makes us better stewards for our conversation.
Remember, YOU are the important part.
Without you CTH doesn’t really have a purpose. Individually we could stand outside shouting at trees with no impact; but together, sitting on the figurative cyber-porch, the conversation is rich with unique skill-sets, subject matter experts and life-long experiences that make discussion so much more valuable. Myself and the CTH admin team cherish the value you represent.
♦ Taking all of the above into consideration, if you are still experiencing issues with the site in general or specific terms, feel free to drop your feedback in the comments and we will review to see of we can intercept and/or correct any issues.
Love to all,
~ Sundance

Try to avoid a fight. Never be the first one to start a fight. However, when it does come down to the fighting, you need to fight like the third monkey on the ramp to Noah’s ark…
…and brother, it’s raining !
“CTH does not compile user information, does not engage in the manufacture of processes that assemble lists of users or any user data…… Your privacy in all matters related to CTH engagement is my priority.”
That’s a prime SOP.
You’ll think I’m exaggerating, but consider, when the thought crime industry grows and develops as it will, our speech here merely has to be declared “hate speech” by some govt marxist and viola…..
Not retaining ISP addresses etc is a very wise precaution in these troubled times.
I realize it’s not a tool in such common use these days, but RSS has died. It’s still there in your source code, but not sending. Since RSS is a handy way to avoid local spies, it would be nice if you eventually tweaked this to work again.
Its worked for me the whole time, since Liberty One landed, using RSS Owl.

If one does not wish to use WP “Gravatar” in order to display an avatar, can CTH provide one?
I am interested in this as well
Me too! Thank you for any assistance you can offer. Good riddance WP!
As am I. I miss my Aslan avi.
Funny, I deleted my WordPress app. Yet somehow I retained my avatar. I use an IPad.
You may have a Gravatar account that follows you here.
I’ve been saving all the Treehouse articles related to and associated with the blatant, attempted coup to unseat our duly elected president. I keep them in two folders (so far) titled “The Big Ugly”. I save the articles first by title, then the URL, and finally the whole article copy and pasted verbatim just for safe keeping.
I went back and tried a dozen or so URL’s and they all linked properly and opened the appropriate article. However, I’ve always have to manually insert any video information, e.g. video title and link where videos appear. I can never get the video to insert within the article on my end the way it appears online. This was the case even before the move to CTH 2.0.
Otherwise, it seems like it’s just about time to kick ass and take names!
WOLVERINES!!!
That is great to know at least some backups exist outside of this site.
If you have the disk space and bandwidth you may want to think about also backing up the videos themselves also. keepvid used to be one that was easy to use. Haven’t used any for awhile though because of bandwidth issues.
Chance, I save all of CTH articles, videos and comments also just using copy & paste into a daily word doc. For the videos I have to right click on the video and copy the URL. I checked a few from the beginning of the year and they worked. Since I use copy & paste I have to copy the video URL separately.
Troubleshooting detail for IT-
I posted at about 4:15pm est.
It did show up in the right hand column under recent posts,
however upon clicking on the my own recent post link, it took me to the article but the comments looked like below:
77 Responses to Site Updates, CTH 2.0 Priorities, and User Experience Feedback Requests
With only 4 visible post the last of which was jmp2cth with a time stamp of 3:19pm
I think the interlinks for commenting are not refreshing or updating themselves in real time.
Hope this detail is helpful for troubleshooting and thank you for all your efforts!
another face in the crowd,
Same here. I figured it’s because of the old hand me down computer and my admitted ignorance of IT stuff. I don’t know if someone replies or not like the previous set up. Only reason I got a WP was to comment on here. Now there’s no notification system as far as I know, and that’s not very far concerning all things internet. No worries. I’ve said my piece. Thank you all.
Yes, notifications of replies is a good feature.
Still, I’m most grateful to be able to visit and read this wonderful site again.
Thank you, Sundance and admins and fellow treepers.
Blessings to all!
keep it simple
God Bless America
Thank you for all you’ve done. Your dedication to years of crowdsourcing it to be commended. Your remarks about the prayer requests, moved me deeply.
The WP site had a feature that sent me an email alert when a new article was published. Have I overlooked that option here?
why is it ..we still can not- like comments ???????
i might be wrong but I believe the like was part of wordpress/automattic which they no longer allowed CTH to use when they kicked them off their servers.
It will probably require new coding and although it may seem like something simple, I imagine it is not as easy to setup and code and make work as it appears.
man I guess we all really should have learned to code lol
Your question has been asked and answered many times, both in Sundance’s posts and within the comment threads.

?
Right, and it’s been explained in depth in this very thread
Not to browbeat anyone, but Sundance and crew have a lot going on, so it would help if everyone reads Sundance’s entire piece to make sure your questions haven’t already been answered
Anything we can do to alleviate their workload would be an obvious help
I’m hanging with you Ad rem.
Go back to previous pages and your questions are answered.
The most recent page of comments is the only one that can be viewed. The “older comments” function is not working it just takes you back to a single random comment.
Several people have mentioned this but those comments soon disappear onto the “lost” previous pages. I mention this as I don’t know if this is apparent to the mods when they are monitoring things at the sending end.
At a time when sharing information and various links is important for spreading information.
Additionally but of much lesser importance, The icons were very handy for those who type in their email address every time we comment, and who also have bad sight and thick fingers. Because it was an indication of a miss-typed address, when the wrong icon would appear prior to posting.
same here, i get 1 comment per page, except recent page.
can’t bookmark a comment like before either, i just tried everything i know to bookmark the above and can’t seem to do it. the bookmark brings up the article with no comments
desktop, linux mint, firefox
so i tried hovering over the comment url and opening in a new tab and it doesn’t work. but if i hover over a comment from nov 29 and i try to open in a new tab it works. (opens the comment and puts it right at the top of the page)
just in case that helps
I too am linux – firefox
& desktop
i’ll say hello fellow linux user before the page disappears
Ditto here on the issue with the comments page. Using Safari iOS 14.2 on an iPad Air 4. Chrome on the same platform also misbehaving in a similar fashion.
iPad, same problem. Only current page of comments available and only one From previous page shows when I click “older comments”
Same here using Android on my phone and Firefox.
But at home using Win 10 and Firefox everything seems normal like it used to be.
I’m having no issues going back to see older comments in this thread, and seen in full.
Might be because I’m (happily) stuck in legacy Win7, and legacy FF 52, on a vintage desktop.
I skipped windows 7. Went from XP to Ubuntu. Been Linux ever since.
Hmmmm makes one wonder if it’s something appertaining to the browser.
The following is double dutch to me but it may give a clue to SD’s computer magicians.
Name Firefox
Version 83.0
Build ID 20201112153044
Distribution ID canonical
User Agent Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:83.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/83.0
OS Linux 4.15.0-126-generic #129~16.04.1-Ubuntu SMP Tue Nov 24 11:22:40 UTC 2020
Application Binary /usr/lib/firefox/firefox
Just a note to say, I had your site on a shortcut on my email account previous to this change. So far using that takes me right to you without issues. The last time I checked the “save my name, email, for the next time,” I used my website with the wrong address.
So just using my normal email account. I got confused when this site was on word press, especially after I signed up for an account them, for my own site, hoping to utilize it as a facebook replacement. Didn’t realize how tech-illiterate I was until then. (I never considered myself a tech person before either, but wow!)
“God Bless all.”
One of the issues Ive seen is when trying to look at older comments, only one or several show up on the previous page all the way back to the beginning. Once there, there is no link at the top or bottom to go back to the recent comments, so I have to go back to the main page and reload the site. Not sure if I want a gravatar or not, and I usually just go back to my posts to see if someone responded to a post I made.
Otherwise its looking good!
jus,likewise same issue here,Dan
No opportunity for Gravitar image, or “Handle”. I’m having to use real name. Is this normal?
When you post a comment, enter your Screen Name — and not your ‘real’ name.
See if that works.
Under Leave Reply
Name: I use booger71..which is associated with the email addy CTH has on file.
no need to use real name. As far as gravatar, I still use the same one I used on Word Press. Since CTH still uses Word Press software, I don’t know if you can use a 3rd party gravatar generator.
android…motorola stock Android.. chrome..
issue:. navigation. old posts..new posts.. these display properly when first opening a discussion thread. however they do not show consistently after that first page of discussion comments. it looks like a JSscript issue at server. would look at css frames and determine where bug is.
again…it does show navigation on first click…but they do not show up after that when navigating to older or newer comments after that.
second bug: when using the old or new comments navigation entire pages of commebts6 appear to be truncated…only showing 3-7 comments as a single page. one expects to see at least 40-50 or more depending on comment “size” as it was in cth 1.0.
this leaves user wondering “where is everyone”. this coupled with bug 1 above makes navigating and reading comments slow and unweildy. refreshing page…clearing cache etc..(even dns flush at elevated command line does not solve this issue)
will see if this happens on other platforms later this evening (win10, iOS, linux, chrome os) and report back.
God Bless America
seeing the exact same thing as you described.
Windows 10 on chrome
also on Safari
also note homepage keeps showing this article as currently stuck at 153 comments, you go into it and at the moment it is at 197
I am having absolutely no problems at all. Using Edge with Windows 10. In fact, I use to comment probably daily until a WordPress update screwed that up. I could like but not post. Now I can post lightning fast again.
Posting Test and user feedback, as requested.
On both laptop and iPad, I am finally landing on the current date’s articles and most recent comments for the article. However, when I click on Older Comments I am only getting a partial Older Comments page, and often only one comment on that page.
I need a mobile version. Can you please create a selection on the home page?
Much thanks!
I second that motion Daddio!! 🙂
Sundance- like all of us I can never thank you enough for the work that you do for our Republic and our the Fellowship of the Tree House.
I know that this was a rather costly endeavor and I wish that you would give us some idea of how much money is needed to keep up with this project. Please don’t hesitate to ask for donations or any other support you might need. The Wolverines will always come through for you.
Seneca, it would be okay with me if Sundance put CTH on a subscription basis. It’s better than any magazine or newspaper I’ve ever read.
Ex-actly as Seneca has described. I believe that our donations to Treehouse are resources put to “the best and highest use” in these chaotic times. (Real Estate Law speak).
The Fellowship of the Tree House.
LIKE.
third bug: when posting a new comment, one expects to see new comment posted and page land at that comment just made. this was the experience with cth 1.0. now when a new comment is posted, page lands at main article body with a comment field below it. the user will now “lose place” whereas in cth 1.0 user sees the same comment place where the new comment was placed. finding it now is unwieldy and requires “go back” browser function AND REPEATED page refresh to see new comment posted.
suggestion:. disqus. I know many feel or have indicated negativity about this comment technology…but it works. and yes you can use a throwaway email… no registration requirements are available as standard options. no ads injected on the stream too which is very nice.
God Bless America
Bad thing about disqus is they can override our mods if they don’t like a particular comment thread.
As far as the “3rd bug” you talk about, I have no such problem, and my comment lands where it should, pretty much immediately.
what system are you using.
I have them all.
I am on win10, chrome right now, and have the same problem.
I have Chrome Windows 10
I have not had that experience with disqus. and trust me, I look at the envelope and pushing it as my normal MO. Never been blocked, censored, or asked to leave….just other users chiming in and giving me the business.
my understanding is that Disqus allows site managers/owners to administer/monitor site content too. I think they are pretty open about letting those content controls up to the site owner.
disqus is very fast. AND I can see at a glance ALL of my comments in one snapshot from multiple sites where I use it to post comments/discussion.
I agree this is using a third party for comment tech, but given sundance has chosen to continue to use core wordpress, I don’t see any more risks (just different ones, balances with an actual 21st century comment tech…a risk worth looking into)
God Bless America
Automattic owns Disqus
Think about it
I didn’t know that about disqus, but if you are correct then I agree it would be a bad thing. No outside entity should be in a controlling position……….shades of dominion.
I was having that problem earlier but as long as I stick with my new name, Patriotic Dixie instead of Dixie, my comments land immediately where they are suppose to be.
I found out, quite accidentally, that using the old name didn’t work as well and put me back at the top of the article while actually in “moderation”.
The way it’s working for me:
What regitiger described is exactly what was happening to my comments on 1.0. Every, single time, after the first major bug (roughly 6-8 weeks ago), I lost all previous capabilities. I thought it was WP flagging me for crossing their no-no censorship line. When I hit “post comment”, it would take me back to the beginning of the blog post, and required me to scroll all the way through to where I’d left off reading.
All is restored on this end, thankfully. “I feel your pain”, for those like regi, who are experiencing the need to do a full log-in each and every time one chooses to post so much as an emoji.
I begin my interest in this place of shelter and refuge as mere curiosity, But became a full time intrested spectator during the Jessica Chambers murder days. I have since used the protected confines of CTH and the Treepers as my personal decoder ring in this current world of misinformation. The CTH is a symbol of light and hope as the remaining patriots struggle to preserve and protect our Republic. We must all step forward and grow our little rebel alliance and do all in our power to insure by the people for the people still has meaning.
Cudo’s to Sundance and all others involved!

I just clicked older comments and now there are only three comments for this post.
Click on Control/F5 to refresh.
i will add another can’t view older comments, and just get a few,or it just takes me back to the article.
I hope Sundance will pick this up and get some folk to help him follow it through:
While it is good to expose what is wrong is society and call for accountability and justice there is far more that needs to be done.
For centuries the Judeo-Christian teachings have been given a prime place because Christians have been so involved in education. Their disengagement and the takeover by those completely hostile during the past fifty years means that children and young adults have often been fed a gruel of falsehoods and not been taught to think deeply and reason carefully.
It is time to establish more institutions that will once again build on the Judeo-Christian foundation, independent of government.
The problem lies in the “Colleges of Education”, where the official, required teacher training courses are ensconced. It is 1) a total waste of time of a good mind, and 2) an indoctrination center designed to launch an army of young, brain-washed skulls full of mush on to the field of battle against our children and their families.
I know this because of the number of student teachers I’ve had to re-direct from the dark side back into the light.
I am disappointed in you Sundance. I know you have all these recent troubles — but during one of the most momentous period in our history, you are AWOL on proving the kind of analyses we are used to. Agree or disagree with your analyses at least you explained your thinking – we have not seen that level of discussion for a while now. My only info consistently at this time comes from Gateway Pundit. (and I hate to say it but X22 Report daily updates).
Drop a link here when you get your analytical blog up and running. We’ll check it out.
…..unbelievable………………………………..(my opinion)
What I decided not to type right now and here is – – – how dare you……….
Bravo! @ Sharon – jjn knows not of what he speaks.
Dear John….you have missed the boat on so many levels, it is alarming. Consider your branch vacated.
I remember a little white triangle at the top.. you could click on that to go to the very beginning of the post…
That was always handy,, but I can’t really say it is crucial…
I want to mention here (if it hasn’t been mentioned before) that a lot of you regulars are ending up in spam and trash. We’ll get that sorted eventually but don’t assume that we’re ignoring you – sometimes it simply will get past us, like first thing in the morning when we have 1500 in spam and who knows in trash from the night before. Keep trying! We’ll all get there!
?
Are you kiddin’ Wee?
With all the wolverines, raccoons, bears, eagles, wolves, ravens, badgers, cats and dogs who inhabit this place, the trash would probably be a preferred playground. lol!
And SPAM??? Do you know how much bears love that stuff??? ; )
All kidding aside, and given the task you were handed, I think y’all are doing a splendid job.
Keep up the great work, and many thanks.
please forward new postings to my email [email protected] so I can forward them to my buds. Thanks
Thank you, Sundance and Admins and congrats on Treehouse 2.0 — great job!
I really like the idea of a Hot Topics and Articles section. I’ve gotten so much important info from links Treepers have shared. I used to be able to read every comment on every thread, but the community has grown so large that I know I’m missing out on some things. A Hot Topics section would help with a quick catch up.
as indicated by others..
there is a problem scrolling thru comments. Not all comments are showing.
+ just a suggestion…
would be good for this site to show daily number of visits…to show its strength and give a growth metric.
This site needs to be pushed to a wider audience.
Once I arrive at your site, if I click on “Sundance” articles, I get an older post, always the same one with the first article mentioning Sarah Palin. If I click on “The Last Refuge”, then I’m on today’s date and I’m good to go.
Still some issues going back and forth in time to view older/newer comments. I will say that comments load MUCH FASTER than they did on the old wp platform. I don’t sit there watching the little circle spin waiting for the page to reload. It’s nearly instantaneous.
The biggest weaknesses, hands down, are the inability to interact with people who reply to us. It’s almost impossible to find old posts, let alone know which ones people replied to, without a lengthy page-by-page search. I think also one of the benefits of the “like” feature is the ability to understand where the “headspace” of Treepers is.
Whether it is true or not, my takeaway from Sundance’s “hold the Senate” post is that he thinks this battle is going nowhere for Trump, so we have to try and hold the line at the Supreme Court. That’s not a bad piece of logic, and all things being equal, I would ordinarily agree.
But all things are not equal, and these are not ordinary times.
Also, for the first time in a day or two, when I post a comment, all the other comments disappear, and I have to completely reload the discussion thread to see the post and others’ posts. That’s a new wrinkle for me.
Force-reload (ctl-f5) does seem to intermittently work to load the comments of “older comments” pages. But I just tried it again and it did nothing.
For instance, if I click on the December 4th presidential thread it shows 1,332 responses. When I click “older comments” it says 1,082 comments but only displays one. If I force-reload this “older comments” page it just shows the same thing.
If I go back one more page (older comments again) it shows 931 comments but only displays one.
If I force reload THAT page (we’re back two pages of comments now from the most recent), it actually shows all the comments. HOWEVER, the 931 changes to 1165 after the reload.
I can’t seem to get the first “older comments” page to force-reload anything.
It’s… odd
I am not a believer in coincidence. It’s amazing how just in the time period of the Dems election steal, the powers that be come down hard on CTH to force them to move to different servers. I am glad that Sundance is setting up the treehouse so this does not happen again. I also like the lengths he is going to help maintain a semblance of privacy for all of us. Under a Harris regime, I suspect many patriots will be prosecuted for wrong think.
Not sure what is going to happen January 20th. Should be interesting though…
Test
My only issue was earlier today. I have been posting, but today I kept getting a WP pop up tell me I was banned from posting to this site
Just ignore…you’re not on our blocked list.

All I can say is WOW!!!!! I am impressed, Sundance with all you have done to preserve the CTH and with all you continue to do. You are very generous! Very generous!
And please, do not apologize for any of the issues your blog has experienced due to the censuring culture in which we live. Having to pack up and move and to settle in a new location is not easy, but what I am impressed with is the speed with which you managed it. And also, not only do I get to enjoy the community even during this time of transition, but I am thrilled and look forward to the great features coming in the future.
Sundance, you are to be congratulated because you have created a truly great thing, a truly great place. Social media platforms have nothing on the CTH!!!!
God bless you!
May the Lord continue to guide you with wisdom from above!
I just posted a comment here about the arrow to Older Comments not functioning properly. After I posted, I was taken to the comments for the Lou Dobbs interview with Michael Flynn posted December 3 instead back to this article. As I write this I see my comment has not posted.
Liking the new digs y’all got.
Thought I’d test drive it before submitting lengthy feedback.
And this is a test of my yahoo email (which no longer works).
Awesome! Life without CTH at a time like this was brutal. Good to be back, obviously there’s lots to share. I don’t know if this is what you mean by requests but I’d love a thread on the ballot stuffing video and Dominion machine that was nabbed and able to vote switch. I’d love a thread with legislators info. to contact and badger to Stop the Steal.
-I’d love a thread on the Catherine Herridge interview with the DNI head that said China has bribed, blackmailed and neutered all our politicians.
-I’d love a thread on what we do about the fact the RINO’s are already doing H1B mass giveaways and amnesty talk. Traitors.
-I’m still into fighting tooth and nail to WIN Trump’s 2nd term but also regardless to see where we are (who is bribed and who is not). We’ll never know if we throw in the towel and quitting when things are this dire is unforgivable.
–Waves to everyone! Good to see you all.
Please do not change the normal desktop version of the site. I cannot stand desktop sites that use shitty mobile animations/sizing.
Thank you for saving the site.
Well, when I post, it takes me to a separate page and I can’t see any responses, just a comment box, and I have to go to my bookmark to get back here.
Congratulations and stellar work on this massive and important undertaking.
Looking great so far !
I may not be caught up with the ‘details’, but some thoughts come to mind that I’ll just throw out:
—- A Tech Brainstorm Thread ?
I’m sure you have a top notch dev team at ur side. You may also have some technically inclined community members that would be willing to lend experience and brainstorm on site design and (backend) development issues; they would also have the benefit of a user’s perspective and the site’s previous functionality (look + feel).
If so, a “CTH 2.0 development discussion – for generous techies” thread might serve a purpose for having back and forth as well as more technical details the average user wouldn’t have interest in.
If fruitful, maybe even your devs might want to participate (anonymously). Ostensibly, each comment and it’s reply thread could act like a rudimentary (per item) “ticket” system.
—- Comment library / server load issue:
Are you still searching all 7 mil comments on each submission ? I don’t see why this is necessary.
I would think a “duplicate” would be restricted to a time window (and of course the particular post). Say maybe within 1 minute or 10 or whatever, and anything outside that window could be handled by admins.
If so, couldn’t the search be done on a separate ‘dedup-cache’ file ? Similar to the ‘recent-comments’ list … or are you generating that from the full set also ?
— A Draft scheme (brainstorm) for dedup-cache:
A) Populate/sync cache on server (re)start
B) On comment submit:
1] update/prune cache based on time window.
2] check cache for dup of submit
3] If no dup
post to library AND add to cache.
If dup found,
Remove dup in cache and add submit to cache (this addresses the ‘last’ time issue), but do not post to library.
You can add a re-sync every few minutes to hour or whatever for sanity’s sake.
If something like this is feasible I would have to assume it would drastically decrease server load.
It might even eliminate need for secondary ‘cloudfare’ cache server — which I’m guessing may be the cause of the ‘Previous comments page don’t show all comments issue’ people are experiencing.
—- ‘Like’ feature:
Not that I use it, but why the need for a live connection (millisecond heartbeat) ? Couldn’t it update with a refresh/submit like the ‘reply’ function does ?
I understand it previously worked based on logged-in users and you don’t have a login atm. A simple 1st try could base off of IP if you only want the count and don’t need to see the user who ‘liked’.
This would be a good brainstorm topic.
—- One simple web item:
Previously, the post title was also a link to the base URL of the post.
This was useful if browsing previous comment pages as a refresh would not bring one back to the posts base/latest page, and going back to the home page to find the post link again is more tedious than scrolling up and clicking.
There is of course the ‘permalink’ but clicking the title is very intuitive and traditional. I’m guessing this is already on the todo list but I haven’t seen it mentioned in this comment thread.

Sorry about all that. Didn’t mean to write so much. Could chime in on more but it would be better suited for a separate thread.
Anyway, awesome work by the CTH team and good luck going forward in your newfound freedom !
PS: my irrelevant vote for disqus is ‘never’. They without a doubt mine, compile, and monetize their users profile and data. It’s on team Big Brother.
Thank you for all you do and have done.
Disqus blocked comments on all posts about the video of the ballot stuffers on GP and Breitbart for at least 30 min. Yeah, many said that was a trial run.
In all the site works better for me — Win XP and FF 52 — than before. The logging in three times (or sometimes just twice) was a real nuisance. Speed when posting is maybe 10x better. If we now get a ‘Like’ function that works I’ll be happy indeed.
I’m glad to see the move was ultimately successful. I do look forward to seeing the “like”, mobile UI, and other functions implemented, but given a choice between those and new content/analysis, I’d take the new content for sure.
Yeah, we definitely need these guys to get back on the horse and focus on content and analysis. The fact that they were taking off the board so quickly is simply more evidence that this was a well thought out, well coordinated, attack on the United States and its citizens.
Dear SD, No apologies needed from you !!! We are all very thankful to you and all there to have moved us with only 15 days notice ! I am sure treepers don’t mind me saying “We” in thanking you.
Could you please make a a widget that automatically ejects the ugly mug of Obummer, be in in book advertising or anywhere else ( other than on comments lol). So we don’t get stuck averting our eyes all the time. Plus he has such bad mojo, I bet all your stuff will magically work fine once his mug is thrown out the back door with the trash.
thank you.

Second the motion of wolvybat! The photo of Obamanation is an abomination on this new home, would you put a picture of Moloch up in your new digs?
Also looking forward to the mobile site version. Thank you Sundance and all admins and the techies working so hard to get us to this point- bless you all!
