It appears that WordPress continues to work on the site. At the moment, it seems that all posts made since October 2 are missing, and that some of you are having trouble accessing the site at all.
It is possible that Sundance has heard from WordPress. I am sure that he will explain what is happening/will happen as soon as he knows something and is free to make a post.
In the meantime, please do your best, as we are doing!

The only way I can get to The Conservative Treehouse is by going to Sundance’s Twitter feed and clicking on a link there. Can’t get here from Google or my Firefox home page.

The access is intermittent. There’s no conspiracy and no preferred browser. Just WordPress geniuses at work!
The good news is that I can see replies such as yours, I’ve got my bell back. As far as CTH being targeted, I consider that an open question.
Same here. I can also access CTH through any old threads which I have bookmarked, with the exception of the front-page.
Looks like WordPress’ updates broke something related to the domain routing.

No conspiracy…Wordpress geniuses wiped off the past 8 months of customizations and content from my website…other than CSS pages (top/bottom headers) all pages are blank. I received no less than FIVE updates/reupdates to WordPress, WordPress editor, the wallets and baskets. It sure seems to me WordPress has screwed up quite a few webpages.
WordPress doesn’t screw stuff up.. People AT WordPress do. WHO did this, and why? I would not put it past someone to wreck all of WordPress just to stop CTH.
Thank you Stella. Once I post this comment, I’ll see if my bell is back or not. It disappeared when the WP upgrade (?) was underway last week. Must admit that my 1st, 2nd, and 3rd reactions this morning were “sabotage!”. I hope this is an act of WP continuing the effort to improve the hosting site and our access to CTH. Going to see if the bell comes back after I sign-in to post this comment.
The word I received from WordPress regarding my site is that their recent upgrades are not compatible with all software used on individual sites.
From what they have said, the code is different if you have a Business Plan, or if you have a Premium Plan. My site, Stella’s Place, has the Premium Plan, and I have had many fewer problems.
Can get to here only. Anywhere else on the site gives the Domain message. I do not believe in coincidences.

Yes it is back on my iPhone with Brave as well, though on my iPad the mobile version shows the domain mapping error.
I am attempting to post this reply in the mobile version on the phone, because on my iPad this morning I’ve seen “Sorry your comment could not be posted” on the desktop version.
Another data point for the intrepid Stella: I always use CTH without WordPress.
Can’t access the site using Edge. Get the following message:
“Warning! Domain mapping upgrade for this domain not found. Please log in and go to the Domains Upgrades page of your blog to use this domain”

I got here using Pale Moon and from sundance’s twitter site link. Any other attempt gives me the domain mapping quote. I accessed the twitter account from a bookmarked 6/26/2020. page. Was on Sharyl Atkinson’s twitter link from today’s presidential page and the back button sent me to the Domain mapping upgrade page.

Using an iPad and DuckDuckGo. I do get email notifications and today my Notification Bell is back. However some comments listed are by other Treepers. I can like and Reply. Just noticed that the Follow banner on bottom right is back. In the past I had to click following in order to post comments.
I had to register with WordPress in order to use the like button. WordPress doesn’t have a disable feature to shut off the email notifications which would really help decrease volume.

Can not get on this site using my Kindle. It brings up a page that says “Warning” Domain mapping upgrade for this domain not found. Please log in. However, on my computer using safari I am able to get right on.
As of right now, unable to access site on my desktop (where I usually read it)….getting some sort od “domain re-organization” error and Word Press sign in error. Was able to find my way here to send report….
** BELL icon back up but the notifications are not “”No notifications yet”.
However, as of Oct. 3rd I am receiving notifications in my e-mail.
** The person icon (next to the bell) brings up my WP account but only shows my name – No follows, etc.
When I go to WP directly. my Follows, etc are shown.
And YAY, I can now post w/o having to re open wp every time I post &

Ok now I see the desktop version of the site on my iPhone (using the Brave browser and using CTH without WordPress.) Previously today got the domain mapping error.
This will be a test on whether I can post using thus combo. If the post works here I’ll switch to iPad, and then to my MacBook.
Optimistic this will work because I now see the normal URL above instead of the mapping one.
Also, I got to this point from the View Full Site link at the end of the CTH page, not the Request Desktop Site link under the … menu (may be significant so adding that info).
That combo on the iPhone worked! Now trying this reply from my iPad – desktop site version – the URL is normal again – again, Brave browser, not a WordPress login.
By the way, the checkbox for saving my name and email login, which was a new development in last few days, has disappeared again. But if we get normal CTH back, I can live with typing my shortcuts for login as I have for more than a year now…
Here’s my third test using the Brave browser as a non-Word Press user, this one from a MacBook (by definition this is not the mobile version, because it’s an actual laptop computer).
If this post appears, looks like you can consider the combo of the Brave browser plus these three types of Apple devices good to go. (I don’t own the watch, though I presume the number of posts to CTH from an Apple watch is a pretty small population.)
On all three I’ve confirmed that the briefly available checkbox for saving login email and name is gone. But as I said I can certainly live without it!

Yes, I previously confirmed the same from my MacBook, iPad Pro, and iPhone 11. Use Brave on all three.
This is pretty much how CTH (WP) functioned prior to Friday when everything went south.
Please note that I just tried to reply to this comment with a test from my MacBook (other aspects of combination are the same, Brave browser, no WordPress login). That comment which started with “Here’s my third test” has not yet appeared on either my Mac or here on my iPad, though it did not get the “could not be posted” error. It just returned to our familiar routine of not appearing YET – so it could be the same old delay we’re used to, or it could be a MacBook specific problem. I will be happy to try the MacBook again if needed.
Also just scrolled down on the MacBook and saw that my reply there is still sitting in the comment box below, with my email and name displayed in black on top of the gray prompts that say “Email (required)” and “Name (required)” – I presume this is symptomatic of a login problem. I will not attempt a second post of the MacBook comment because we all know pushing that button more than once so often leads to duplicates. I’ll wait.

I also on refresh see a lot of people suddenly jumping in with Test posts, so delay is normal.

then log back in with just one device.
if you need to use more than one device…logout from others first.
its the most effective way solve most WP problems…and.there are many with WP.
OR alternatively you can opt to not participate at all with WP.
use a. throwaway email…and just use that. its elogant and simple and there is no damned APP or API that is spending enormous bandwidth in the.bsvkground.
sure you don’t have all the pretty things…but is that really worth the trouble anyway?
WP is about as smooth and steady as wapost coral project…suks hard.
the “requirement” to log into this or any other site is also not best practice…if security and.privacy are of.interest.
WP has had several serious security issues over years. two of which remain wide open and unfixed.
also this…tired of ads? ublock matrix…its the best…you will have unhindered speed you never knew existed.
and yes chrome still allows it.
best chrome extension there is… solves the.popup and junk and spammy ads very well. many of which are compromised and host serve malicious ware.
Hey, Treehouse! I just tried getting into the site from my ipad. It brought up a domain error message. When I looked at the address line, it did not read .com, but .wpstaging.com (or something like that. I removed the .wpstaging bit and the site came back. Has anyone else checked this? So far, i am okay on the laptop.
So all morning I was able to get on to CTH via Firefox w NP… just now the notice said “this website is napping” and to go thru certain steps w WordPress. Didn’t bother to do it.
Went thru Microsoft Edge and was able to get here directly…(now)
However, this morning my email inbox indicated there was an article re Devin Nunes from… “wordpress + bounce = theconservativetreehouse”… so yes things are very weird!!

Oooh and now a new development on the MacBook – there’s no login checkbox for me as there suddenly was during this update – but when I click in the “Email (required)” field my email appears, ready to click/accept. But my guess is, this could be a feature my MacBook, not WordPress, is providing…
I use Duck Duck Go and have been able to access CTH this whole time even during the wonkiness. However the upper right bell did “disappeared.” It is back today.

The WP app for Android continues to work, especially for posting, and the header images on each of SD’s posts returned today, for the first time since all this began.
Gone though, thanks be, is the ‘Visit The Last Refuge to read more – – >” link that opened the desktop site. Whatever WP did is closer to “normal,” At least with the app.
Somewhere at WordPress a software writer is hiding under his desk, wondering if that offer he got from the bank to work on their Help Desk is still open.
THAT was cool. I typed WordPress with lower case p and it just autocorrected to upper case P after it first posted and I refreshed the page, unless Stella is catching EVERYthing.
Tweets won’t print out and can’t see who “likes” a post.
Other than that, things been the same on Brave and Safari.
Ever since the 1st update a year or so ago, there’s been looong posting delays and a couple other things that never got “fixed”. But I got used to them. I find if I shut the page/site down for a minute and then come back, my post is usually there when I return, but just “refreshing” the page does not help.
This site worked like a charm a few years back. Every “update” hurts it’s performance for me. (What’s new?).
But this last one’s the worst, w/o tweets!
Wish these tech guys would get it thru there heads that updates are not where it’s at. They ALWAYS wreck stuff.

I can see this Oct 5 greeting and the comment on issues here.
This morning, I could see all the posts up to Oct 5th on my Phone but the site is so tiny as to be unreadable. Now that I can see the splash screen for Oct 5, my phone looks the same as on the desktop, so I have lost all the content for Oct 2-5.
As noted on other sites, we do not believe in coincidences, especially when they happen consistently to one group and not another.
Keep working, we will keep watching for content.

Thank you Stella. Folks need to quit complaining. By now we all know the site is experiencing problems and the problems are known and are being addressed. Constant complaining and pointing them out does not help. You are much more polite than I.

Sorry for the long wait. You changed your username and WordPress (not recognizing you) put you in moderation.
They have been pounding my email with solicitations for a couple of weeks now. My answer? WHY would I pay for something that had just:
1) Eliminated the “Notification Bell” for replies to my comments
2) Wiped out ALL prior notifications other than ones from WP itself
3) No longer recognizes my IP
4) Requires me to LOGIN AND RE-ENTER password with EVERY comment

The tech titans, mainly through google’s monopoly on ad revenue, have been systematically shutting down conservative sites and comment sections. They did it to the federalist, zero hedge, now amgreatness and are doing it to the last refuge. Breitbart is the only one not affected yet because they have a billionaire philanthropic backer so they don’t need to make money.
Ditto denial of service attacks to conservatively hosted sites. Facebook, google, amazon, and microsoft have hackers constantly attacking anysite that is conservative on their payroll.
