If neither major presidential candidate gets 270 EV’s – perhaps because of fraud and lawsuits in PA and MI – it goes to the House, where each state gets one vote. There are currently 25 states whose congressional delegation is reliably Republican and would presumably vote for DJT. It’s the new Congress that votes, though. MN’s delegation is currently 5-3 in favor of the Dems. MN CD 2 (currently held by a Dem) will not be decided until a February special election – because of the recent death of a candidate. If Republican Michelle Fischbach could finally oust democrat Collin Peterson (who won with 52% in 2018 in a district (MN CD7) that went for Trump by 30 pts in 2016, MN’s congressional delegation would be 4-3 GOP. That could mean one more needed state in the president’s column.

I have been reading about this scenario. However, my question is, if the Presidential Election is in question, why wouldn’t all down ballot races also be in question?

The EXISTING House, not the newly-elected one, will make the decision if this scenario presents itself.
I don’t think so. The votes of the electors are opened and read (and least since the latter half of the 20th century) by the vice-president in a joint session of congress on January 6th. Pursuant to the 20th Amendment, the current Congress’ term ends on January 3rd.
How can the new Congress vote? Their election would be suspect as well.
Exactly, as stated in posts from a few weeks ago, ALL elections and referendums are on the very same ballots as those for the Presidency. Any ballot is called tainted, yield tainted results. The democrats can go state by state in their law suits but any ballots challenged from that state challenges everything on that state’s ballot.
The RNC can also challenge ballots state by state, of curse only if the RNC is not in on throwing the election, as they did in November 2018.
The democrats may also choose to use a proxy like challenge by paying one of the “third” part candidates to mount a challenge in selected states as they did in 2016, to “mask” their involvement in the challenge. Yet, the effort backfired and the president actually gained votes but the DNC is far better prepared this time so .. this is also an option but the fact remains that a challenge to Presidential results in a state challenges results on the entire ballot.

If 2-3 states’ elections were as-yet-undecided (tied up in the courts), that would leave 47-48 states’ newly-elected delegations to decide the “contingent election”. I don’t know whether that would still require 26 votes to win or only a majority of the state delegations casting a vote (24 or 25). It’s been reported that Pelosi recently flew to Michigan to woo Justin Amash in case his vote were needed to make Michigan’s sole vote go to Biden. Pelosi has been war-gaming this, and she grew up in politics. I believe Scalia was murdered in 2016 primarily to prep the legal battlefield for another Bush v Gore. These people do not F around and we shouldn’t bank on their ineptitude.

I would have been in same graduating class with her in HS had I not moved to the country in 5th grade. Many of my childhood friends graduated in her class from Lake Oswego, Oregon. My brother’s widow told me last year they left their church because my niece did not want to go anymore because of LGBTQ friends. Yet all the Fake News pushers keep telling us it will be a close election.
A judgment came upon the White house. They were not supposed to heed the warning of the governor of Wisconsin and whomever told them not to come because of the increase of Covid. Our Presisent runs on law and order. He needs to set an example. The law is to wear a mask and social distance. He had conferences everyday with the people telling us to wear masks. He even ridiculed Biden for his big mask. This is just God judging his administration. He has to get back in line because he is a law and order President. He will be good because of God’s mercy.
Wearing a mask is not the law. It’s an emergency order put out by the governor, one that was supposed to have expired by now. I am in Wisconsin, and the people pushing for the schools to close and masks everywhere are becoming hysterical. We need to get back to normal, let the people who are high risk take precautions.
