Thank you, Grandma Covfefe! I always enjoy your posts! Have you heard about the locally organized “rallies” for President Trump? These are called MAGADragtheI (MAGA Drag the Interstate) and so far participants from about 15 states are getting groups together to drive to their capitol cities.
I heard about several in Texas this past weekend, Houston, Dallas, New Braunfels and Corpus Christi. Then I found one in Oklahoma (where I live) that I will be joining this next weekend. Some are holding their events a couple of times a month, and some are even doing it on Thursday’s and Saturdays! There are several in Florida as well.

I have a minor problem with this whole analysis.
Taking the data for the Whole World there are 27,504,693 cases and 897,092 deaths.
When I was at school that equated to a 3.2% IFR.
Now I know that there are all sorts of “estimates” of the true Infection rates due to asymptomatic cases, but how they can get that figure of 0.1% is totally beyond my understanding.
There has never been consistency defining “cases”. The word “cases” has been abused as much as our Constitution. CV = Corona Virus. COVID = Corona Virus Disease. If you have CV you are part of the 27MM you reference but you may never get sick, and if you are under 70 years old it is highly unlikely you will get sick much less die.
But if you are diagnosed with CV (which CDC allows to be an estimate traced to 17 sources of contact while infected) the treating facility receives $13000 additional government funding, or $39000 if you are placed on a ventilator.

In the vast majority of countries– the only people tested are those admitted to a hospital (in our county of 242 cases only about 15 were admitted to a hospital). This makes comparing countries worthless by the way.
The denominator (total cases) is much much higher than 27,504,693– and in our country the CDC estimated the infection fatality rate of around 0.2%– but the number of cases is really an estimation.
If you assume there are 10 times the actual number of tested cases, or 275,000,000 cases in America then dividing 190,000 deaths, for example, and then multiplying that result by 100 gives you a .0670 death rate. Rounded up to 1%.
Look, it’s an awful way to die. Medicos are getting a lot more skilled at saving lives and if 275 million are infected, America is pretty close to having nobody that doesn’t have it getting it, the so called herd immunity.

Of those 6,485,575, 193,534 have supposedely died of COVID, which is 2.98%, just below the world average.
The CDC loves to make “estimates” and revise them up & down at will.
By taking sample populations and testing them for antibodies, you get an idea of the actual total number of infections.

Yes this was in a section of Brooklyn. Sad. But in my section which is fairly safe a 62 year old man was shot dead coming out to walk his dogs. A real neighborhood guy that had a lot of friends. Some words exchanged and the guy opens fire at his head. It is so shocking. I hope they catch the shooter. It really is getting overly dangerous around here in addition to the stupid mask thing. This section flipped to the Dems last election and we are now paying for it in my estimation.

But I just found out that Trump has the authority to do what he did with the other things, like eviction protection, unemployment assistance, etc. I’m hearing that, like he did then, Trump can also use an executive order to release funds for new stimulus checks. So… if that’s true…
Can you imagine if the Dems continue to block it, and Trump turns around and says “Okay, I’ll do it myself.” ??? He would literally add millions of new votes/supporters overnight. So no, I don’t expect the Dems to allow him to do that. I think before much longer they’ll agree to drop some of their garbage they wanted in the bill, and allow the good parts (including the stimulus checks) to go forward.

The whole stimulus check thing is wrong-headed. You cannot create value by issuing a check. Money represents the active productive value-creating capacity within a society. Printing money for no value is antithetical to the concept of money and debases the currency. If you get a check, spend it as fast as you can. Don’t hang onto money when the currency is being debased.
