IMPD dispatch confirmed the incident, but said few details were available.
Tony Katz, host of The Morning News on RTV6’s newsgathering partner WIBC, was at the AMC Theater in Castleton at the time and described the scene:

“I was in the Hunger Games, the 6:20 showing, so it was well into the movie. No one heard any gunshots. A man with a baby had gone outside of the theater, and then he came back and said, ‘I don’t know what is going on, but people are screaming and heading this way.’ So everybody got up and headed toward the exits.”

“You could hear the screaming over the movie. It was an unbelievable sound of screaming. It was a very orderly procession out and then you could see police cars everywhere, streaming into the area.”

“I saw no weapon. I heard no weapon. But if you heard the screaming, very loud, it deafened the movie.”

IMPD had not confirmed any injuries as of 8:20 p.m. (continue reading)
