When you combine the dots of testimony and information, and pull back from the pixels, a clear image begins to emerge.   The character visible in the image is actually the artist, Denis McDonough....   Here’s the High-Def Version:

WASHINGTON – The CIA’s former deputy director disclosed Wednesday that Obama administration officials were alerted the day before they went on national television that a key tenet of their original Benghazi storyline might be inaccurate. But he did not explain why the administration continued to cling to its narrative even after U.S. intelligence debunked reports that the deadly attack was born out of a protest over an anti-Islam video.
In often testy exchanges with Republicans who accused him of a cover-up, Michael Morell flatly denied that he “inappropriately altered and influenced” the infamous Benghazi talking points to downplay the role of terrorism in the attacks.
But he acknowledged overruling the wishes of his boss at the time, CIA Director David H. Petraeus, by excising from the talking points information that the CIA had warned about possible al Qaeda terrorist attacks in Libya before the Benghazi tragedy unfolded on Sept. 11, 2012, killing ambassador J. Christopher Stevens and three other Americans.
“I saw the language as self-serving and defensive on the agency’s part,” Mr. Morell replied to skeptical lawmakers. “Here was a tragic event, and we were saying, ‘We told you so.’ This was wrong, in my view, and would have been seen as an attempt to make the CIA look good and shift any possible blame for failing to see the risk of an attack from the agency to the State Department.”
He also said references to al Qaeda were removed from the talking points because of concern at the CIA that leaving them in the public narrative could have jeopardized classified sources.
“The only way we knew that anybody who was involved in that attack that night was associated with al Qaeda was from classified sources,” he said. “To leave it in, the [CIA] director would have had to declassify that information.”  (read more)

If you were Obama’s “fixer”, Denis McDonough on September 12 2012, the first steps to constructing a firewall around the oval office for Sept 11th (Benghazi) would first be to place friendly constructionists into key narrative controlling positions.
As you read this presentation from The Washington Free Beacon – think about the timeline for CIA Director Mike Morell against the backdrop of his ‘then boss’ General David Petraeus; then think about Eric Holder having the FBI file on Petraeus’s affair on his desk.
Then think back to McDonough’s job….. what would Denis need to do?

Former CIA Director Mike Morell may have altered the Benghazi talking points to benefit the Obama administration during the 2012 election, Catherine Herridge of Fox News reports.
On September 15 one day before Susan Rice made her infamous appearances on various Sunday shows, according to the bipartisan Senate Intelligence Committee report Morell received an email from the CIA station chief in Libya indicating the Benghazi attacks were “not/not an escalation of protests.” The report does not indicate when Morell read the email, but that same day Morell cut the word “Islamic” from the talking points and left the word “demonstration.”
On September 16, Morell emailed embassy staff in Tripoli asking for more information. The FBI and CIA reviewed the closed circuit footage on September 18 showing there were no protests. Yet, President Obama still employed the “demonstration” verbiage just days later.
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R., S.C.) said Morell accompanied Susan Rice in a closed November meeting to discuss the attack. According to Graham, Morell defended Rice and tried to emphasize there was confusion about what happened in Benghazi. Moreover, Graham alleged Morell did not accept responsibility for altering the talking points, instead blaming the FBI. ”I called the FBI. They went ballistic. Within 24 hours, his statement was changed where he admitted the CIA had done it,” Graham said.
Adding another layer of complexity to Morell’s backstory, Sen. Richard Burr (R., N.C.) told Fox News many of Morell’s recent statements on the war on terror run contrary to what he told Senate committees over the previous decade as a CIA employee.
Herridge goes on to report some speculate Morell may have higher political ambitions considering his employment at Beacon Global Strategies, a government relations firm founded by close Hillary Clinton confidante Philippe I. Reines.
Morell declined to comment on the story but said the Senate Intelligence Committee report supports the contention that the Benghazi talking points were not politically altered in a written statement. (link )

The cover story already existed because earlier in the same day the State Dept was getting questioned about the attack in Cairo, Egypt. Again, at another embassy – and a story had already begun about a U-Tube video.
McDonough just needed to continue the same narrative story.
Which he did, effectively, the following day: [McDonough on Sept 12th]

There you have McDonough, the next day, SEPTEMBER 12TH 2012, attaching the little known U-Tube video from the Cairo Embassy explanation, directly to the Benghazi, Libya attack.
What followed in the days, weeks, and even months ahead, was just a continuance of the same manufactured explanation during the “peak” of the 2012 election cycle.
After all, it was this same 41-year-old “kid”, McDonough, who was the key deflector between POTUS and the crisis that was “Fast and Furious“:

What’s more likely? Flawed intelligence, or having already succeeded in stemming the investigative crisis that became “Fast and Furious, McDonough just applied the same mindset and skillset to the Benghazi crisis. Creating a firewall between the absence of executive leadership during the critical crisis hours, and the State Dept/DoD failed response.

But there were TWO political lives at risk:  President Obama AND Hillary Clinton…

This is where the recent reports indicate CIA Deputy Director Mike Morell was the person inside the intelligence community who was working to shield Hillary Clinton.
Mr. Morell spent two years as the head of the CIA’s main analytic arm, the Directorate of Intelligence 2011 and 2012.
Morell became the interim CIA Director when General Petraeus stepped down due to his personal issues and convenient for the administration extra-marital affair.

A September 15th, 2012 email from the Benghazi CIA Chief of Section, recently hit the media new cycle and yesterday it was the foundation of the Benghazi Hearing.   Essentially  the email stated they had been trying for days to politely say to the top of the CIA -political side- Benghazi was a direct terrorist attack and could not understand why the political side (career Morell manipulating story to non-career Petraeus) was spinning another story.
In the direct language contained within the memo the Station Chief underlined it was NOT a spontaneous protest turned violent.

CIA Deputy Director Morell evolved to become very critical of the Bush administration, even though Morell was Bush’s personal briefer.
Morell was the “key” CIA intelligence briefer for President Bush, and carried a chip on his shoulder around the Iraqi WMD non-finding. Morell felt he was unfairly held accountable and his career spotlight diminished as a result of the flawed intelligence which became a toxic political issue for the Bush administration.
As a career CIA official he internalized the Iraq WMD issues and became highly political in his views of DC, politics and the relationship between the intelligence community. Through this personal evolution Morell became one of the most partisan members of the intelligence community, and his big-shoulder-chip experience skewed his ideology.
After Morell was passed over by the Obama administration for permanent CIA director, the position given to life-long Obama ally John Brennan, Morell angrily quit the CIA (June 2013).

From Morell’s perspective he was “passed over”, from the Administration’s perspective (Obama/Clinton) the plausible deniability (lying) he afforded the administration around the Benghazi attack meant he was a risk.
It was safer for the administration, ie. less likely to endure congressional inquiry, if Morell was outside government. It was better for both Obama and Clinton to have distance from Morell.
Morell went to work in the private sector as a consultant for CBS news and retains a familiar leash attached to his collar his secondary position on The President’s Intelligence Advisory Board.

John Brennan the CIA Director, James Clapper the Director of Intelligence, and Leon Panetta who was Secretary of Defense at the time, all three of them the day it happened, actually it was the morning of the 12th, said that it was an organized terrorist attack and they told the President that. And he kept saying afterwards that it was a video.

Now he knew full well what it was, and I applaud, I didn’t see what you are talking about, but I applaud Bill O’Reilly, if he tried to press him on that. And there’s nothing else the president could say, since all three testified under oath that day, so he as to come up with something and blame something else. He’s gotten by with it though, his entire life.

Let me say this before you move on, and I will say this till my dying day, I know that people don’t realize that now but that’s going to go down in history as the greatest cover up. And I’m talking about compared to the Pentagon Papers, Iran contra, Watergate or the rest of them. This is a cover up before the election to make people believe there is no longer a terrorist problem in the Middle East.
