Evil – Pure Evil…. Today the Philadelphia Judge in the Gosnell trial listened to the motion and argument from the abortion doctor’s defense lawyer. An argument which included the following statement in the court record:
“If we are going in this room to say a baby is born alive because it moves one time without any other movement, that is ludicrous”… [defense attorney Jack McMahon]
Which obviously begs the question: If they were not “alive”, then why did Kermit need to cut their necks?
(CNSNews.com) –The defense attorney for Dr. Kermit Gosnell said it was “ludicrous” to claim that “a baby is born alive because it moves one time without any other movement” in court today in Philadelphia, where the judge threw out three of the murder charges against the abortion doctor.
“If we are going in this room to say a baby is born alive because it moves one time without any other movement, that is ludicrous,” defense attorney Jack McMahon said.
Although three of the murder charges were dismissed, Gosnell still faces five other murder charges and other criminal charges in the case.
Philadelphia Common Pleas Court Judge Jeffrey P. Minehart granted judgment of acquittal for the first-degree murder charges of three babies in the case, identified as “Baby B,” “Baby C,” and “Baby G.”
According to the grand jury report, Baby C was “moving and breathing for 20 minutes before an assistant came in and cut the spinal cord, just the way she had seen Gosnell do it so many times.” (read more)
Here is a link to the Huffington Post perspective on it.
This lawyerly obfuscation, is, in my opinion, visible evil at it most pure and human level. When I read the legal defense articulated to legitimize Gosnell’s behavior – I find myself personally, and physically repulsed that an attorney could actually utter those words. [And it’s not the profession which should be the emphasis in that sentence]
….“If we are going in this room to say a baby is born alive because it moves one time without any other movement, that is ludicrous,”…..
Let me ask you an honest, yet brutal, humanity question. Who is the “defenseless one” in that courtroom?
Decisions, it is all about decisions….. Human decisions
