Collapse of Iran finances.
Inflation:
DEC 2023 $1.00 = 510,000 Rial
DEC. 2024 $1.00 = 821,000 Rial
DEC. 2025 $1.00 = 1.21 million Rial
At the beginning of October this year it was at $1.00 = 2 million Rial.
Now at $1.00 = 2.71 million Rial.
Iran has not been able to pay or even feed its police or troops for over 6 weeks. Only the top of the IRGC are still receiving pay checks.
That is what real economic war looks like. US Sec. Treasury Scott Bessent is every bit as important as our military in waging this war. He has managed to cut off virtually all the dark money that has flowed to Iran from various sources. Meanwhile threats of sanctions have forced nations bordering Iran to shut their borders. What Scott has done is undoubtedly saving a lot of lives in the region and helping to allow the increase in traffic through the strait and the Red Sea.

Some of the readers here will appreciate this Presidential Message, which includes being extended on behalf of the First Lady.
Its focus is primarily cultural and historical from an American (the USA) perspective with a theological foundation in certain sentences.
It is refreshing for an American President to acknowledge this subject.
There are days throughout the year on the Patristic Calendar of the Orthodox Christian Church when groups of Holy Martyrs and Saints from specific lands and locations and periods of time are commemorated, as well as in their entirety, but this is not that Feast Day. The Sunday of All Saints is the First Sunday after Pentecost.
