You might remember the story of CIA senior officer David J. Rush, 49, of Ashburn, Virginia, who was indicted after an FBI investigation found gold bars, cash in dollars and euros as well as luxury cars and dozens of luxury watches.
Today the DOJ announced that Rush has plead guilty {pdf SEE HERE} in a deal where he will admit to one count of wire fraud, and that will permit the DOJ to finish prosecuting the case without revealing extremely sensitive information about the CIA operations Rush was involved in.
Rush stands accused of manipulating more than $195 million in wire transfers to his own accounts, after setting up covert fake CIA operations centered around unknown foreign intelligence efforts. When you read the plea agreement that stipulates the facts of his activity, it certainly sounds like David Rush was able to execute the fraud under the auspices of Ukraine operations.
To be clear, there’s no mention of Ukraine, but the scale of the money involved, the timing of the activity, the location of the real estate and the attributes of the money and gold (as described) sound very Ukrainian-ish.
DOJ PRESS RELEASE – […] On May 19, 2026, the FBI searched Rush’s residence and recovered 298 gold bars, approximately $2,106,550 in cash, €104,795, and numerous luxury watches. Rush had obtained the gold bars at an approximate cost to the government of $46 million. Pursuant to the plea agreement, Rush has agreed to forfeit the gold bars and currency found at his home, the fraudulently obtained properties, 30 watches (many of which were Rolexes), and two 2026 BMW Alpina vehicles, at least one of which is valued at approximately $172,000.
Rush is scheduled to be sentenced on Jan. 28, 2027. He faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison, three years of supervised release, forfeiture, restitution, and a fine. A federal district court judge will determine any sentence after considering the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors. (much more)
In addition to the theft, schemes and fraud, inside the plea document Rush admitted that in late 2025 he disclosed “certain descriptive information of a U.S. government clandestine human source” that could “endanger the safety and life of a CIA human source and the U.S. government officers working with the source,” as well as jeopardize America’s “ability to recruit human sources, who rely on the U.S. government’s assurance of absolute secrecy.”
This guy was so deep inside covert (sketchy) CIA stuff, the DOJ dropped a bazillion other charge options and gave him a plea deal for a single count of wire fraud.
Cash and gold bars recovered in search of Rush’s residence

This is a news story?? His problem is that he got caught, thousands of other in the FedGovt, grifting even bigger $$.
After a while you ask yourself What are we clinging to? There is no integrity in DC.
that’s been evident to me for 50 years.
…and ultimately thieving We The People’s money, which doubles the criminality gall (assuming that’s possible).
This thief forgot the basic ProTip: Be quiet about your cheatery, drive an older pickup, stay in your small home in a quiet neighborhood, etc.
“How many more?”…likely thousands at all levels of thieving amount, DC breeds corrupt like moths to a flame.
Typical CIA officer pisses off the wrong people and is actually held accountable.
How many hundreds more are there? Yes, I think it’s hundreds.
A single snow flake, on the tip of one Iceberg.
I heard there were about 500 on just one hill in the DC area……
Held accountable?
I hate to say so, but of the several CIA officers I met as an Amy officer and thereafter in my SF reserve unit, most of them were incompetent or were of questionable character.
Audit the CIA and the FBI and the FED make it public
I was thinking more along the lines of shutting them all down..
None of these agencies are required by the Constitution.
Bring in Elon from the bullpen. Small wonder we’re a bazillion in debt. Between these clowns, Somalian wankers, and assorted corrupt politicians…..
He was given a deal to protect a bunch of other people, maybe some big names to boot?
Those gold bars being loose like that tells me he wasn’t the only one handling them.
Agree. My first thought was “who is the DOJ protecting”?
My opinion of the answer? Itself.
So, if the common man tries to rip off the government for $0.50, he’s hung out to dry. This guy rips off the government for almost $ 200,000,000.00, and HE gets a sweetheart deal that no common man could ever dream of?
Our judicial system is as crooked as the rest of government.
Exposing more or going to trial would out too many CIA secrets. CIA is corrupt to the core and the plea deal is not for his benefit, it is to the benefit of protecting CIA as an institution… The corrupt institution that it is.
$200M is serious scarola!
How do u create a cover profile?…just spit balling here bc on the surface this story makes no sense.
His sentencing on January 28th will be a Kevin Clinesmth 2.0.
Guards will nap, CCTV will go on the fritz and David will commit suicide with paper sheets. Just like Jeffrey..
“sounds like David Rush was able to execute the fraud under the auspices of Ukraine operations.”
Look at this guy, acting like he’s a Congressman. What hubris he has.
“Look at this guy, acting like he’s a Congressman. What hubris he has.”
ROFLMAO
✝️😉🇺🇲
If you rob a bank, but leave a note promising to pay them back $10.00 a month, I guess they would just consider that a loan. Right? That is how stupid this sounds!
That would work if you include the amount of interest you promise to pay in the note. /s
I’ve got to wonder who vetted this guy. The clearance process for him should have easily caught his lies about his military service and education.
Hardly a disqualification when sleazebags are useful in that line of work and more readily manipulated by the agency with compromat.
the other guys who also committed theft, bribery, wire fraud, exposing human sources…. all Godless, all traitors
How do we know it didn’t and those doing the “vetting” didn’t know exactly what he was?
Also, a judge has to agree with any plea bargain. What kind of judge would agree to this one?
Retired Magistrate here: One that gets slipped a few of those gold bars.
What do you bet they did and had a talk with him. “You lied to us, I respect that living is a good thing BUT IF you lie to me again you will be a soprano Capish. Now go get some money and 10% to the big guy
Imagine how many more there are? No wonder they want to keep the war going forever.
Louden county is covered with 3 letter stash and safe houses, when the new housing was going in the gov would buy houses, all new to each other neighbors.
How nice that he “agreed to forfeit” all the stuff he stole. What if he hadn’t? Would he receive a strongly worded letter? Would they ask “pretty please”?
Would you get the same treatment? Would you even be ASKED to “forfeit” anything?
Well, I’m sure he stole it fair and square.
“It hurts so goo_ ood,
C’mon baby make it hurt so good”
✝️😉🇺🇲
What the hell ever happened to procecuting people for crimes?
“Pursuant to the plea agreement, Rush has agreed to forfeit the gold bars and….”
Agreed to?
They used to snatch back what was stolen without the thiefs consent.
Plea deal? Who’s the judge?
Like the one given to Kevin Clinesmith? He got Boasberg… Probation, no prison time.
Or harsher…
Three months at Club Fed maybe?
“Sketchy” I’m sure has its advantages.
TPTB are covering their own anatomies. But we all know that.
How many in Congress are guilty of similar grift?
All of them, they just voted to not cease insider trading that every one of them is guilty of, all dumocrats and a majority of gopers as well. That is the tell of this administration, and why so many defend the money laundering of Ukraine. Gold bars don’t just mint themselves, they are all registered and itemized if they are legally smelted.
Huh….and not Somali either……
They taught him WELL and he leared….must have a WHOLE CABINET of “in the event of my demise” poison pills …. 60 days community service I bet….tops……🥴🙀😅
American tax payers want their money back!!!!!
Kinda like a bank being “too big to fail.” It renders one invulnerable.
Heard about this story awhile back. Don’t remember where.
If he was truly operating out of bounds then it’s amazing that he wasn’t disappeared. Must have needed him to clw back as much as possible.
Where I wonder, did all the trove come from……?
Likely Ukraine aid in lieu of USAID being shuttered.
He would have been disappeared had he decided to go to court and fight the charges.
I wonder what all they promised him to be the fall guy, and not rat out all involved. As others have stated, he isn’t the only one.
1 charge of wire fraud is the payoff. Thats nothing. He probably stashed some loot for when he gets out.
Buried gold bullion from the Japanese Govt hidden in the Phillipines until WWII ended and the CIA found out where it was? No one recorded their findings.
How much of the national debt is because of fraud?
You don’t have to open somali learing centres to steal from taxpayers.
His activities have nothing to do with ”national security”they are covered up because it is embarrassing to the CIA.
I’m surprised that the fbi which is part of the corrupt deep state, turned him in.
Maybe Rush didn’t want to share the loot.
How do we stop paying all taxes?
according to stephen miller, if most of the fraud was eradicated, this country wouldn’t be 40 trillion in debt: https://www.usdebtclock.org/
The Dep’t of Justice is a really bad joke.
In this day of paper trails and digital footprints no matter what one does someone gave this spook an easy way out and have proof of everything he did.
When I first heard about this, I’m like HUH? No way is this guy innocent.
The CIA is beyond corrupt.
I would love to hear this guy tell his whole true story from the time he was recruited until today. He must know some really bad stuff about people in high places, otherwise they would have offed him……I would find that fascinating.
so much for being a ‘public servant’.
Absolutely disgusting. These pigs all seem to believe they can just keep stealing from the public trough with impunity.
I am so tired of plea deals. They never work in the favor of actual justice for the crimes committed.
Who else are they protecting ?
That was one busy dude….
Question… What was he doing toward his real job.
Need to see where the Florida properties are shouldn’t be to hard, Palm Beach and Hobe Sound.
Ok DOJ, now go prosecute all the other money launderers stealing our funds which were secretly intended to be sent to UKR.
Thiefs, all of them :/
If we had any kind of justice, they would be investigating everyone of those judges and politicians I believe this is just the tip they are all getting kick backs and the cia,the fbi are right behind it. Doling it out.
Stealing $50 million from 200 million USA taxpayers, and getting only 20 years jail, maximum. W.A.P. (Weak as piss)
My guess is, that in exchange for this sweetheart deal, Rush is singing like a canary.
I’m going to set up a private investigative task force to pursue insider government corruption.
I just need $10 million in seed money to get started.
Please donate generously to my scam… umm … I mean my secure 501C platform. Gold bullion is preferred but I will accept bundles of uncirculated US $100 bills.
We must end this greedy, manipulative abuse!
Venmo your donations to Honest_Abe_ski @ UkraineLaundromat.com
20 years in supermax, minimum!
Leavenworth.
Thank you Sundance.
I know it’s a drop in a big bucket but it’s progress.
Thank God we have something. Look at UK and France, going in opposite direction.
More proof that crime pays.
A well known ending to a well trodden path. Shockingly disgusting that the more corrupt a crook is, the less likely he will actually be punished.
Geniuses within our “intelligence” agencies storing gold bars…thinking they won’t get caught?!
Must of thought Kamala would win.
