Media are now reporting the U.S. has removed all Air Force’s bombers, including B-1s, B-2s, and B-52s, on Sunday from RAF Fairford base in the U.K.
The bombers were redeployed back to their home bases in the United States, AP reported, initially citing a Pentagon official who was not authorized to discuss sensitive military movements and spoke on condition of anonymity. However, multiple news outlets are now reporting on official statements from the Pentagon.

Spent some time in the Cotswolds last year and saw many aircraft from Fairford AFB training there, including US planes. It would be more than obvious if our aircraft were departing in large numbers and not returning. I would think the economic impact will be significant.

Can’t help but suggest that this move follows the UK denying US demands to place the base under US Control and allow US Physical Security assets to be deployed.
The base is a major staging point that removes allot of flight time and crew fatigue for missions they fly and this is a loss. The US assets redeployed to the US can still strike Iran, Areas Bordering the Red Sea and Africa but at a higher risk of added flight time .. adding stress to the airframes, more in-flight refueling risks and added crew fatigue.
The base is under UK RAF Control and RAF Physical Security. This withdrawal is a slap n the face to the UK Government and MoD .. yet the UK likely could care less that they have insulted.
It almost looks like the UK/EU are starting to look more like the enemy.
