Tens of thousands of people took to the streets of Madrid today, in a massive show of support for Spain’s North African enclave of Ceuta. The protests follow weeks of crisis in the region following a border surge from neighboring Morocco.
More than 70,000 migrants crossed into Ceuta during the surge and local authorities estimate that more than 10,000 migrants remain in makeshift camps scattered across the enclave. The residents are dealing with lawlessness, chaos and criminal activity. Protesters in Madrid wave Spanish flags, called for stronger border control and criticize Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez over his handling of the crisis. The demonstrations are ongoing as serious clashes and fights between migrants and local residents continue in Ceuta.
CEUTA, Spain, Sept 2 (Reuters) – Residents of Spain’s North African enclave of Ceuta took to the streets on Wednesday to protest the handling by Madrid of a migration crisis caused by a deadly border surge in July when at least 72,000 people crossed from Morocco.
Thousands of people marched through the streets of the city of about 80,000 residents in a protest that coincided with the annual Ceuta Day. Waving Spanish flags and blowing whistles, they chanted: “Ceuta is not for sale, Ceuta must be defended.”
One placard read: “SOS. Europe, save us from our traitor government” while some demanded that authorities should “expel the invaders” and others called for Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez to resign as demonstrations also took place in other cities across Spain, including Madrid, Barcelona and Bilbao. I would suggest since all those protesters are gathered together anyway, they can simply push out into the ocean all the invaders themselves.
Two protests, the one is at home in Madrid…….against the PM of Spain….
The other is in Ceuta which is across the strait of Gibraltar in Africa.
The invaders are on another continent.
I would suggest they remove the PM by force.
String him up in the town square for all the rest of the traitors to see.
The EU is like a pan of milk on low heat. I seem to remember Sundance using this as an analogy.
Sooner or later it will boil over and suddenly.
Lest these arrogant leaders who despise the people they rule over, not govern, believe they will always have control, I would remind them of Christmas Day, 1989, in Romania.
Hi dear Bet, ole Pedro can just change his name to Nicolae.
Or Benito…
Hey there, dear brother….perhaps someone close to him might start calling him that. Could jog his memory 😎👍🏻
“Government is not reason, it is not eloquence,—it is force! Like fire, it is a dangerous servant, and a fearful master; never for a moment should it be left to irresponsible action.”
Attributed to George Washington.
People all over the world are finding out,..while they have not been watching that their governments have been playing with matches.
Washington was correct.
For Europeans, promised by their unelected as well as elected jailers a bright and glorious future if they surrender their collective sovereignty, it has been instead a slow burn of every freedom, right, and the civilization which has sustained them for centuries.
I credit in great part another president, Monti, who has told them truths they didn’t dare face but which couldn’t be denied or ignored. Which when he was re-re-elected in 2024 I so hoped for and said so here.
If finally those Europeans take matters into their own hands, I dread to consider how ugly it will be.
Either they do or they do not…what are their lives and their children’s lives worth to them?
I guess we will find out…
(I’ve posted this from the irreplaceable Thomas Sowell so many times; and given what we are witnessing, feel compelled to do so again. Because with each passing day, the West, its culture, and its people come closer to being annihilated. Those who dismiss this simply aren’t paying attention.)
If they could actually do it…….. Overwhelm the authorities, grab the guy and string him up like Mussolini……
What a message that would send to the rest of the EuroWeenies.
I’m not advocating that, of course.
We remember canada persecuting truckers freezing their bank accounts et al. They were treated as terrorists.
I can easily see this happening in UK ,EU+ against heritage citizens’ reactions to 3rd world criminal migrants (and opposition to military conscription). They will declare these people to be enemies of the state and step on their heads. Similar to “Threat to democracy” chants from the insane.
No real hammer came down on protestors at ICE facilities writ large or antifa / blm. This would not be the case the other way around. They had to script Jan 6 they want to crush us so badly.
if by crush, you mean unalive, seguro que si and correctamundo
It only takes a spark. What EU Country citizens will have the fortitude to light that spark to save their Country?
Thank you, Sundance!
“SOS. Europe, save us from our traitor government”
I don’t care who you are… that’s funny right there!
Europe, in particular Germany, is the root cause of their traitor gubmint.
Hit that nail square on the head sister!
As in Canada, it would appear as though the Socialist utopia in Spain isn’t living up to its hype.
Didn’t they have a Socialist Utopia once already, Under Franco…….
Guess they didn’t learn the lesson.
Great!
Do I detect another Tiananmen Square in the making?
It’s about time. I’m surprised it took this long.
These people usually tell you who they are before you elect them. But most don’t listen. Voting has become a popularity contest. You truly do get what you vote for.
il Donaldo Trumpo posted a video of the Spanish riots without any context. I started searching the web for information and The Conservative Treehouse is the first conservative news website I found that was covering it.
Even Sky News in Australia (I know that they are not conservative, but they had way more news than any other website on July 13, 2024 about President Trump in Butler) did not have anything on it.
Huge Thank You to Sundance and staff!
It would probably not take too many live rounds to get those 10,000 fleeing back into Morocco faster than they first arrived. But I doubt the Spanish of today have the guts for it, even after they get rid of Pedro. But it would set a great example for the rest of Europe, and they are going to need such examples.
