George Beebe: Ukraine on the Brink – What Happens Next? (Video)
https://glenndiesen.substack.com/p/george-beebe-ukraine-on-the-brink
George Beebe is the former CIA Director for Russia Analysis and currently Director of Grand Strategy at the Quincy Institute. Beebe discusses the “grim turning point” in the war.
Article discussed: “Russia’s lockdown of Odessa ports could be a grim turning point in war”
https://responsiblestatecraft.org/odessa-ports-ukraine-russia/
A lesson to all purveyors of the idea that Ukraine could be a ‘steel porcupine’ and avoid a mutual agreement to end the conflict. It’s a trap.
I appreciate that Beebe correctly points to how Ukraine did this to themselves. They were the main beneficiaries of restraint in the conflict, and they chose to take off the gloves first.
I was so bored tonight that I memorized six pages of the dictionary…
I learned next to nothing. 🙂
Try the 7th Page…
You should have read just five. Then you could have lost the “next to.”
Did you get to “defenestration” yet?
Goldman Says Gulf Oil Flows Two-Thirds of Prewar Level
Exerpt:
Oil flows from the Persian Gulf have recovered to around two-thirds of pre-war levels, limiting the Iran war’s impact on global crude prices, according to Goldman Sachs Group Inc.
Total exports of crude and oil products from the region have risen to 15 million to 16 million barrels a day, helped by higher crossings through the Strait of Hormuz, Goldman analysts including Daan Struyven and Yulia Zhestkova Grigsby said in a note. That’s still 7 to 8 million barrels below pre-conflict levels, but well above a trough of 5 million to 6 million barrels a day in March, they said.
