In his first press conference since given the interim responsibilities of U.S. Attorney General, Acting AG Todd Blanche holds a press conference on the topic of a Dept of Justice National Fraud Taskforce.
Acting AG Blanche notes there are an additional 97 prosecutors assigned to prosecute fraud and protect the financial security of the U.S. government. A national fraud detention center is being assembled to review all government data and find the root causes of systemic financial fraud within all U.S. agencies.

The pattern in past major investigations has been to offer lower level criminals prosecution deals for them to turn in the next level criminals.. But the first levels have to be investigated dead to rights to secure their cooperation. Then the next level, and so on. These prosecutors will need to zero in on some BIG low hanging fruit IMMEDIATELY to grab attention that can supply juice for the midterms. The Republican take over of the House in the 1994 midterms was less about Newt Gingrich’s Contract With America and more about the House Banking scandal. You need to know who to bums are in order to throw them out. Big LOUD stink needs to be made where the Dems paved the way for fraud.

It starts at your city level. The fourth or fifth largest city in MN is now debating taking an extra 10% from charitable gambling. That’s mostly pull tabs in VFW’s, Veterans clubs, private clubs, and many restaurants and bars. This, after an 11% increase in property taxes, is just another money grab from anyone they see bringing in cash.
Although, they aren’t going after the homeless beggars on all the major intersections even though city code says public nuisance is not allowed. They claim “free speech” but have an ordinance that prevents free speech in front of politicians homes. Huh!
Whoever takes over AG’s office should drill way down in their investigations. On the positive side, Colorado supreme court said conversion therapy cannot be illegal. MN has a state and many cities have laws banning it. Blanche? I know you’re busy but…….
My mother was born in Minnesota and when she was young the family moved to Portland. She talked about -40 degree winters (and I’ve wondered why anyone would plant people from Africa there). He has a very sketchy background for being anti-Trump and ultra left. Sure there are conversions but something about him doesn’t work for me. DOJ has too many employees to be managed properly. OPM needs to conduct a large-scale reduction in force, eliminating at least 40% of the positions. This will not materially affect the token 97 employees who have been assigned to investigate fraud. Big Ballz at DOGE could most likely write software code to uncover a few billion in fraud, thus freeing up the 97 to instead start filing judicial complaints and arrest warrants.
In his starring role as an actor at DOJ, all eyes will be on Mr. Blanche to see if he can deliver an award-winning performance.
