Luckily the Dr office had contacts with an “Angel” network that helps with the costs that brought the cost to where he could afford it, it was tight but he is still here.
He’ll be up and dressed shortly ready to go to breakfast as he’s done his whole life.

If what you allege about the “basic drugs that most Americans take“ was statistically true, there would not have been any pressure for President Trump to do this.
Unfortunately, too many Americans are on prescription medications that do not have a generic equivalent, or the generic is also unnecessarily expensive due to the profiteering of the manufacturers.
And this doesn’t begin to address the premiums that Americans are paying for prescription drug coverage under some kind of an insurance plan. Those costs have gotten out of control over the past 10 years.

You are conflating two separate issues. One has nothing to do with other, except in the minds of people like you who vote Democrat because you lack the ability to think.
The “basic drugs” part is accurate. A routinely-prescribed heart med is actually no cost. But when my PCP switched out that med, at my request, because my research showed the alternative can slow the growth of cancer, well, the alternative med wasn’t free anymore. Not even close. Which then begs the question – why is the first med provided at no charge, while the second isn’t? If certain meds “aren’t that expensive,” are those drugs actually as efficacious as their expensive counterparts?

I like the way POTUS uses tariffs to retool the United States and create jobs; however, technology (specifically artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics) is impacting job creation in a BIG way right now that is negative for U.S. workers and that is left unaddressed at present (especially by Congress and state legislatures who receive lots of campaign funding from corporatists intent on the replacement of U.S. workers by any lower cost means possible).

I am not that thrilled with the outcome of this project……Looks to involve around 40+ drugs and if it eventually affects most drugs it will lower the price for the Insurance Companies….they wont pass the savings on to consumers. That is why prices in general continue to go up…greedy companies will not pass any savings on.
Example…just got a letter from my electric company , a co op, prices going up March 1st due to material cost, labor, increased demand (AI) and fuel??? This is a not for profit company.
