Contemplation, meditation from the Collects for the Fourth Sunday in Advent:
“O Lord, raise up (we pray thee) thy power, and come among us, and with great might succour us; that whereas, through our sins and wickedness, we are sore let and hindered in running the race that is set before us, thy bountiful grace and mercy may speedily help and deliver us; through the satisfaction of they Son our Lord, to whom, with thee and the Holy Ghost be honour and glory, world without end. Amen.”
Keynote concept of this collect is Purity.
Had one come through the yard a few weeks back. They are actually quite striking if you see them from the front like I did and have.

Although I still cant differentiate the downy from the hairy, one of them is often waiting for me to smoosh the peanut butter onto the tree trunk.

my birdies
love my birdies. miss my woodpeckers
they stopped coming around when i stopped feeding them
i dont to need to feed my birds
they have everything they need in my yard
i have a huge spot on the water
so they are getting good stuff from my yard
but since i have stopped giving them bird food
the woodpeckers have stayed away
i still hear them but they aint comin in my yard for food
my birdies will do just fine without me giving them store bought seed
when i was feeding them store food
they were makin a mess out of my deck
i have a huge deck
wrappes around my house nicely
this summer i painted my whole deck
it was a frkn huge project
took a long time
i prepped the deck big time
sanding and scraping every inch
kept goin to the hardware store gettin more buckets o paint
came out good
then it hit me
these beautiful lil birdies were messin my deck up
so i stopped feedin them and went with giving them water
i was spending too much time cleanin up
not a good idea
dont need to clean up after someone else eats
the food i paid for
i let em take baths in my yard and they love it
and they seem to like it very much
love my birdies

Have Hairy and Downy and Red Breasted Wood peckers working my feeders and suet. The stick around all year. The Red Headed comes during the warm months and then is gone during the winter.
On Sunday mornings, while on my way home from work, I usualiy listen to reruns of Bishop Fulton Sheen’s radio broadcasts, “Life is worth Living”. He usually starts off with a little story that the audience may be able to relate to…
Today’s rerun story, included the people taking the trains out of the city (NYC), towards to ultimately despised ‘changing trains’ spot (for those heading to Long Island)…and in the silence of my head, I am hearing my dear daddy, a former LIRR Conductor, talk about “the change at Jamaica”…
As the good Bishop then stated…”the change at Jamaica”…

It’s one of those “rules” that has stood the test of time, as proven by its steadfast presence in everyday culture. In fact, you’ve probably seen your fair share of people swear by the rule. But is it true? Here’s what you should know about the five-second rule for food, according to a food scientist.
The 5-Second Rule—Lab-Tested
Unfortunately, there’s no truth to the five-second rule. According to Dawson, when food falls on the floor (or any surface, for that matter), its level of contamination is mainly determined by the “dirtiness” of the floor rather than the length of contact. In other words, food that falls on a germ-ridden floor will pick up germs, regardless of how long it stays there.
Bottom line: If food drops onto a surface, it will pick up germs from said surface. The length of contact time doesn’t influence whether or not this happens and, ultimately, the risk of food poisoning.
