I was an American football gal who once upon a time before the NFL by their slavish and vomit inducing adoption of the putrid antics of the (despise the word) “woke”, disgusting kneeling in obeisance to the BLM crew, watched it ” like a man”, as my daughter told everyone she knew.
When my faves, the overrated Cowboys with Jerry Jones in the middle of them on the field knelt, I turned them off, quit watching cold turkey, lost all interest, and have never watched another game whoever was playing.
I used to believe as you do…that “the beautiful game” as it is known by billions was boring.
But there is a certain excitement in watching the clubs exert themselves non-stop for at least 45 minutes each half. Talk about having to be fit!! And an excitement with penalty kicks.
And if it comes to it, the penalty shootouts.
Can’t explain it…there just is.
All of this I came to understand and appreciate when living abroad.
The only thing which elicits eyerolls from me is the ham, over the top acting when a player pretends he has been “injured” by a member of the opposite team, drops to the ground, then rolls around in mortal agony for a few minutes so that his team mates can catch their breaths.
But as is said, to each his own.
Yep, I use to think soccer was boring until I started watching the World Cup, now I look forward to that level of competition. ( amazing athleticism.)

Check out ticket prices when announced… Many will be on par with World Series, or higher (some games will not). The MLS finals are tomorrow to gauge how prices are for the sport’s most popular games here with slight international interest (Miami v Vancouver, Messi playing, Canada having tantrum against Trump).

Mrs. Sunshine, I’m with you on this one, no interest in pro sports. I did used to like pro football and boxing back in my younger days.
However, our President does have an interest in pro sports, and I truley feel he deserves the time he spends to enjoy them as he works long and hard for our country.
Personally, I have always enjoyed fishing and hunting and still do.
But this isn’t about me, and I hope President Trump takes great enjoyment in the sports he likes the most. Plus, I believe it might prove profitable for our country.

I’m driving down tomorrow to watch my granddaughter play.
I was surprised to find I enjoy rugby. There is a place for a player of any body type or talent. It doesn’t hurt that the clock does not stop except for a very few minutes at the halfway point.

I lived in Houston for 35 years, not terribly far from the med center hotel where the team has reservations. I’ve made the trip on 59 a gillion times. What I watch out for is the notorious speed trap at Splendora. Totally irritating.
