Senator Ted Cruz (R-Sea Isl) has become a parody of himself as he takes dramatic acting to new levels during his monologues. Apparently, Senator Cruz and CBS’s Margaret Brennan have the same acting coach.
That said, I’ve cut to the chase on part of the Cruz question that matters as he asks AG Bondi about the investigation into the Supreme Court leaker of the Dobbs decision. [::cough:: Sheldon Snook ::cough::] WATCH:

Note to Ted Cruz …. the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court never referred the incident to DoJ for investigation and it was handled by the Court’s own offices. The investigation was closed without finding the perp …. just sayin’.

Ted Cruz has been going downhill since the 2016 Republican Convention. That is why he almost lost to Beto.
I go back and forth on Ted Cruz. He’s said and done enough that there’s no question he’s not in the same camp as McConnell and Ghramnesty – see TCH post on the fedsurrection from Mar. 12 ’23 (https://theconservativetreehouse.com/blog/2023/03/12/the-parliamentary-motive-behind-the-j6-fedsurrection/); Cruz planned to reject the results from disputed states. That’s hardly the path of least resistance. On the other hand, there are plenty of reasons not to trust him implicitly, as noted. I could say similar things of Trump…
Anyway, partial credit is due for asking some difficult questions. Bondi’s response is pretty classic deep state chaff: investigations are ongoing, we have lots of investigations, and we won’t stop investigating until the matter is thoroughly investigated (or until you stop asking about it, whichever comes first). Also frustrating in all this is that Bondi deflects the question by saying [of political targeting by the FBI] “that will never happen under my watch!” First, I doubt she has enough control over the FBI to assure that, but worse, her nonchalance toward obvious past abuse probably guarantees a “this will blow over” attitude among those responsible. So the next administration could just pick right up where the previous left off.
I doubt Bondi’s motivations here; I get the feeling that she’s happy to window-dress the situation until we move on. I don’t doubt her abilities, however. They are wholly inadequate to the situation. Can you see her putting the screws to someone, smoking out the rats who are protecting the likes of the Dobbs leaker? I guarantee, assuming she even tried to investigate the situation, that she got stonewalled (maybe by Roberts himself) and is much happier to deal with these questions about why nothing’s happening rather than pursuing it as she should. I hold out hope for Cruz playing a good part, but Bondi hasn’t even tried – and if you go into the swamp not prepared for battle (especially if you’re not particularly smart), you’ll be sporting scales overnight and not even realize it.
