Where are the RIFs???
All bark, no bite? Or is POTUS worried about a transitory recession?
Budget and DOGE cuts appear stalled.
RIF’s aren’t a time for celebration, but for serious adults to regain control.
Kevin O’Leary has suggested POTUS restart ANWAR oil production and earmark all taxes and tariffs to DEBT REDUCTION. “Markets would love that.”
And , what about Chicago ?
https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2025/10/marxist-chicago-mayor-brandon-johnson-announces-executive-order/
to stop ICE from making arrests !
Where are the RIFs???
She made it perfectly clear the administration thinks layoffs (RIF) is bad. PDJT was using it as a pressure point for to encourage Ds to pass the CR.
Unfortunately, I think no RIFs are going to happen. I predict the shutdown will end in eight days or less from today.
A layoff is not the same as a Reduction In Force, or RIF, Slick. Words matter.
Karoline answered the first question about people being fired by the hundreds today, clearly correcting the reporter’s choice of words in saying “The President is referring to the hundreds of federal workers being furloughed (ie layoffs) because of the democrat shutdown.
The administration does not want hardworking people, such as clerical staffs, not being able to come to work for no other reason than democrats are having an extortionist tantrum. This is a wholly separate issue from necessary reductions in force.
Curious? Having been through many reductions in force (management perspective). Layoffs (aka terminations) are in fact part of a RIF.
Or maybe I didn’t comprehend fully your reply.
Furloughs are temporary where it is expected the employee will return to work at its conclusion.
Karoline was referring to the furloughed employees such as clerical workers who will return to work when the govt reopens.
The RIFs everyone is salivating over are the wholesale closure of entire cabinet level and sub cabinet departments, which would be permanent firings.
Two entirely different things that, for inflammatory effect, get purposely conflated.
…and can’t happen until 60 days after notice is given. They can’t just wake up in the morning and say, “Ok, you’re all let go!”

It was all a HOAX like so many things involving our government these days. Trump is and always has been a big government Republican. Oh sure he talked about shrinking the government on the campaign trail like all Republicans do but he didn’t mean any of it as demonstrated by their total lack of follow-through on these threatened RIFs.
Get on the President’s side or move on. 🇺🇸
Just wondering if the jobs to be eliminated as a result of OMB analysis during this shutdown require 6 month notice to the employees.
Pre shutdown it was reported many times that approx 100k employees would have job cuts and their 6 months notice was up Oct 1st. So those guys are gone, I guess. Maybe new cuts need 6 mos notice too.
I think the reg is 60 day notice. But the way RIF works within 6 months is covered by 5CFRPart351. In a RIF “positions” are abolished. When a position is abolished in a RIF, a complex series of actions determines who actually leaves the workforce and who can move to another position. The complexity of RIF makes it a pretty much chain-saw tool for management. That’s why you saw DOGE pivot to releasing temp-status employees.
I’m very disappointed in the Trump’s team execution of their plan. All promises, but no clear concrete results. Where are the RIFs? I was laid off three times in my career as an engineer in the private sector. DOJ is lackadaisical in charging the criminals from the past administration. We want justice, not empty promises.
Thank you Sundance!
Watching now 🦅🇺🇸✝️
The very dishonest, nasty, low IQ Kaitlan Collins never fails to demonstrate what a truly horrible person she is.
I enjoy the spectacle of Karoline Leavitt verbally slapping her around in the press briefings. Very entertaining!
Poor Karoline….
Waiting in vain for an intelligent question which she can answer without preempting President Trump’s authority….
Alas.
Smack downs to Kaitlan Collins, the poor man’s Jim Acosta, continue to remain the high point.
Temu Jim Acosta! 🤣
I noticed karoline did not have on her Cross necklace today.
Kaitlin Collins is clueless as usual. Most people would hang their head in shame after asking a stupid question. Not Collins. She acts as if nothing happened and proceeds to ask an even dumber question than before. Rinse and repeat every time she opens her mouth.
The reality is that not a single RIF, Staff Reduction nor Executive Branch Entity Closure during the “shut down” will survive the “reopening” …. unless the President VETO’s any Spending Authorization Bill unless it includes language making any RIF’s and Closures permanent.
A CR PRESERVES everything 2009 to present date in place … and this CR even ADDS more spending lines to the crap the CR preserved.
The Problem is the President spent political capital in supporting the HOUSE CR and made a big show of that support … when sitting tight and supporting nothing short of Regular Order Budget Process … even this late into NEW the Fiscal Year is the only way to begin righting the Fiscal mess.
The House CR (H.R. 5371) appropriates funds at the FY25 rate (Full Year Continuing Appropriations Act, 2025) until 21 Nov 2025. The Senate defeated this bill and considered its own CR (S. 2882) that added Subtitle E, with the Medicaid and ACA payments. Note that the House normally will not consider an Appropriations bill originating in the Senate via the “blue slip” process. So to pass any actual bill would need to be an amendment of the H.R.
BFD … and what is your point … a CR preserving fiscal ROT is a CR preserving fiscal ROT … no matter how it’s passed by the House and then the Senate.
Will the President torpedo it with a VETO to demand language that preserves CUTS?? That is the issue.
It is NOT the appropriations that causes the damage but ALL the instructions, authorizing statements, budget lines (funded and unfunded), Congressional Mandates et al that it preserves.
I listened to the press conference earlier. Those “reporters” are like Jr. High students. I am not saying that they are stupid; just totally ignorant and illiterate.
I was reading the pleas of Englishmen to reject the leaders trying to strip their culture from them and I thought, “There is really only one person right now who could, if he so chose to, unite the Western peoples against their global puppets, who has a ready audience waiting for him to do so in England- DONALD J TRUMP.
Withe Farage, he could light a raging fire in English men and women.
My favorite part…go after the funders of the organized hoodlums.
