Property tax is another one. There shouldn’t be any at all – but the most it should be if it exists is based upon your purchase price – not what some government flunky says it’s worth.

If President Trump wants to free up some capital and help out Main Street, he can propose a one time tax holiday to allow anyone over 55 to withdraw up to $100,000 from a deferred income asset like an IRA free of federal income tax.
Mortgages would get paid down or off, college students would be freed from having to apply for student loans and put on debt shackles because their parents could actually help, retirees or near retirees would have start up capital for second career small businesses, and there would be at least a temporary feeling of relief in much of the US.
Not means tested, no income limits – just a one time seniors tax holiday.

Have always thought that the tax calculation was a major bend over in regards to retirement accounts.
Most of the money is usually capital gains – but it is all taxed purely as income instead. That’s just plain wrong.

I didn’t say I didn’t make money. My point is that inflation eroded every gain into equalling at best what I put in to begin with, in terms of ultimate purchasing power. The actual gains are illusions. The promises are BS.

The Fed’s definition of “stable prices” is to try and hold inflation at 2%. Even if they were successful, 2% inflation compounded over the 30 years of your career erodes most of the value of your savings.

For a moment setting aside its contents and issues thereof – if there is nothing wrong with it, then they should proudly label it when used. There should always be 100% disclosure when it comes to the food supply chain.
The fact they hide it raises my hackles – as does Gates involvement – and won’t personally buy anything with it on it and have looked for labeling of it since it was first put on the market.
It’s also very much like what the big meat processors did with the “Made in America” and “USDA” labels. They are put on meat products that are NOT produced in the USA – only processed here. They fought tooth and nail in order to hide the origins of the product.
