What’s up with Abbott in Texas? Why can’t he and the Speaker there get this redistricting done muy pronto? I swear Republicans cannot get out of their own way. The President can’t do everything. Please, someone in the Administration call Abbott and tell him to get his ash in gear.
He needs a quorum which the D’s are denying by running away. The D’s now have warrants for their arrest. Once there is a quorum, the redistricting plan will be passed.
Not sure what else Abbot can do. What do you think he could do more of in this case?

But this guy Bertrand de Juvenile came up with these this metaphysics of power and his understanding was that the you’re what we would think of as the middle class, right? The Kulaks. They’re entrenched in society because they own a piece of the tradition. They own a piece of the land. They have actual communities. They have resilience. They have the ability to push back against the government. And so if you have this middle class, they’re in the way of your power as a leader. And so what do you do? Well, you take your high, your high, your ruling class, and you pair them with a low class from outside of society. And that high and low versus the middle is the way that you break apart society because you promise the new voters or the new participants that you will give them whatever the Kulaks have. It’s all their fault, the middle class, they’re the ones who are keeping you back. They’re the racists. They’re, you know, they’re the sexists. And if you just defeat them, we’ll just give you all their stuff. And this is the wedge that is continuously used. The large amount of our government right now is just a wealth transfer between heritage Americans and the new political class that’s being moved in to rule society. That’s just the dynamic we’re seeing. And this happened in Rome. This has happened many, many times over. You can see many historical examples.

Americans are tired of watching the powerful get away with everything. In 2008, bankers crashed the economy and got bailed out. In 2020, Anthony Fauci and the biomedical regime imposed tyranny under the guise of public health. In 2020 and 2024, Joe Biden was propped up by a Democratic cabal that subverted the Constitution and jailed dissidents. The southern border was thrown open to reshape the electorate and lock in leftist power.
Kamala Harris nearly extended that reign — had she not turned out to be the dumbest, most tone-deaf, and most unlikable candidate ever smuggled onto a national ticket.
Yet through all of it, no one in power has paid a serious price for their crimes.
Major revelations come and go. But with no accountability, they become little more than distractions. There may have been a time when shame alone could bring a public reckoning — but our current ruling class is incapable of shame. They don’t resign in disgrace. They don’t retreat. They wait for the news cycle to move on.
The scandals pile up like grains of sand in a desert, each one indistinguishable from the next.
In this environment, exposing corruption becomes just another way to tranquilize the public. People think, “At least the truth is out there — maybe voters will care.” But what if the scandal is about rigging the vote in the first place? If Democrats can open the border, fabricate intelligence, and collude with media to tip elections, then what good is the ballot box?
Exposure, without punishment, doesn’t deter. It emboldens.
The left doesn’t hesitate to jail its enemies. January 6 protesters were locked up for years — including some who never entered the Capitol. Trump officials like Steve Bannon and Peter Navarro were arrested and imprisoned. Pro-life activists got comically inflated sentences for silent protests. The FBI threatened parents who challenged school boards. Douglass Mackey was convicted for making memes. Trump himself faced fabricated charges that could’ve put him behind bars for life — all to stop his return.

Prelims are almost never done in federal cases because when a felony is charged, the only purpose of the prelim is with regard to being able to hold the defendant in custody for period within which the Rules give the Govt to obtain an indictment — but it does not substitute for an indictment as it does in state courts on a felony.
It does substitute for an indictment on a misdemeanor.
I’ll say in my defense that in 21 years as an AUSA I never did a single Prelim Hearing — I never charged a misdemeanor only caes — so thinking thru its utility was never something I worried much about.
But when a person is arrested in a criminal complaint, and the charge is a felony, the Govt has 14 days to seek an indictment if the defendant is detained, and 21 days if the defendant is released.
To charge a felony. it can only come from a GJ unless the defendant waives his right to indictment.

I had a very good meeting with distinguished guests, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, of Ukraine, President Emmanuel Macron, of France, President Alexander Stubb, of Finland, Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, of Italy, Prime Minister Keir Starmer, of the United Kingdom, Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, Friedrich Merz, President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, and Secretary General of NATO, Mark Rutte, in the White House, which ended in a further meeting in the Oval Office.
During the meeting we discussed Security Guarantees for Ukraine, which Guarantees would be provided by the various European Countries, with a coordination with the United States of America.
Everyone is very happy about the possibility of PEACE for Russia/Ukraine.
At the conclusion of the meetings, I called President Putin, and began the arrangements for a meeting, at a location to be determined, between President Putin and President Zelenskyy.
After that meeting takes place, we will have a Trilat, which would be the two Presidents, plus myself.
Again, this was a very good, early step for a War that has been going on for almost four years.
Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, are coordinating with Russia and Ukraine.
