The U.S. flag flies over *our* U.S. Air Force and U.S. Army bases (providing top cover for your butts), the second-busiest air cargo facility (total air cargo landing and re-shipped) in the United States of America is here in Anchorage, Alaska. If you had something shipped by air (UPS, FedEx, etc) from Asia, it probably made a stop here for being moved in a separate aircraft.

So Putin says he is willing to halt the war in exchange for territory in eastern Ukraine. Halt, not stop, not a permanent, durable, just end to this war. And he wants Ukraine to seed territory in the eastern portion of the country that his military has not yet been able to take with force over the course of the last 3 years. Something tells me this is not going to go over all that well, but nonetheless, this does seem to be the direction the Trump administration is going in. So, it’s worth diving into some of the details. Now, I do want to mention that we haven’t seen response or really any commentary on this from the Ukrainian government or really any of Ukraine’s European allies. So, this type of deal, of course, Ukraine has to agree to it, right? The United States and Russia cannot agree to a ceasefire deal between Russia and Ukraine. Of course, the United States does have a fair amount of leverage, but at the end of the day, this is not our decision to make. Now, President Trump talked about this a little bit today in front of some reporters, answering some questions in a way that really kind of drove home that this really does look like Putin’s peace proposal or ceasefire proposal is probably the right way to put it…he added a piece here that makes me think this is further along in the process than we might know.

President Putin NEVER said that Territory is not a precursor required for a CEASE FIRE … it is a PEACE AGREEMENT position. The two agreements are NOT the same .. the media and enemies of peace are purposely conflating and purposely obfuscating a historical fact … PEACE AGREEMENT Negotiations always followed a CEASE FIRE Agreement … even in the ETO during WWII after Germany had been totally defeated.

If the leaked framework outline is accurate … territory will be discussed after the CEASE FIRE as part of the Peace Agreement discussions.

Personally, I was kind of anticipating a Saint Petersburg meeting.
Of course this is being billed as a Peace Conference by all but the President’s Team …. hopefully it remains the Strategic Conference and CEASE FIRE Talks as the leaked framework outline demonstrated. A Cease Fire outline gains what president Trump desires … NO MORE Shooting and table the territory issue. I suspect Putin would trades NATO-EU membership for the ground he has captured, which would be an ALL upside win for Russia because NATO-EU is gong to expand or attempt to expand no matter what other arrangements were offered.
By inviting Putin onto US soil, Trump openly breaks with the prevailing doctrine of keeping Russia isolated. The ICC arrest warrant, the sanctions regime, years of carefully cultivated enemy imagery — all of it, should the meeting take place, would evaporate in significance with a single photograph.
The message: The rules the foreign-policy establishment holds as untouchable are negotiable — not carved in stone — at least if the President of the United States decides so.
For Trump, the meeting offers a chance to pull Russia, perhaps through trade, into America’s geostrategic orbit. This would align with the raw-materials deal signed with Ukraine in April, granting the US exclusive access to the country’s rare earths as well as certain oil and gas reserves.
I think a future Russia/US collaboration if not alliance is possible. Both have huge resources and military capabilities. The economic implications could be huge. The Euroweenies are busy self destructing. The big boys UK, France, Germany have a great history, but that’s history. A world makeover?
