Congresswoman Harriet Hageman from Wyoming outlines background and perspective on the Big Beautiful Bill in a brief statement uploaded to her social media accounts. Rep Hageman walks through the important aspects of the bill as well as parliamentarian rules for its construct. WATCH:
.

So if the actual budget is to be determined later and your intent is to not spend 6 trillion+ dollars (that Joe Biden admin only needed because “emergency spending”) in the budget.
Why does this reconcilliation bill assume it can spend all 6+ trillion dollars of it and more?
If your intent was to balance the budget – in the bill that would be coming – would you then not take a first step to limit expenditures to below 6 trillion now?
So that the expenditures will fit 4.5 trillion.
And is that budget bill – the one where all the budget cutting is supposed to be happening in – the omnibus bill of 1,400 pages that is going to get passed the day before Christmas?
Also why is there an allocation for over 1 trillion dollars toward the pentagon, an increase and highest budget that has ever been allocated? Questions galore.
If MAGA now structurally costs MORE than 6+ trillion dollars, then is America now too broke to afford MAGA?
I do not think it is, it just that Congress prioritized the wrong things at the wrong time.
This is not a budget bill.
The public is being gaslighted because most people are not familiar with the different types of bills and the restrictions/rules attached to each.
This is a type of bill called a reconciliation bill. DOGE cuts cannot be included in this type of bill.
But DOGE cuts can be included in either the budget bill which comes up in September or in rescission bills after Aug 18.
The Big Beautiful Bill is a huge win for MAGA codifying 50 MAGA priorities into law.
https://www.whitehouse.gov/articles/2025/06/50-wins-in-the-one-big-beautiful-bill/
Don’t trust the financial projections coming out of the CBO:
“A division of the Congressional Budget Office, the agency charged with providing budget and economic information to lawmakers, is stacked with liberal Democrats, putting into question its long-standing reputation of being nonpartisan. ”
https://www.foxnews.com/politics/nonpartisan-cbos-health-division-overwhelmingly-staffed-dems-gop-aligned-group-says
They don’t allow for tariffs income, nor for DOGE cuts, so they are giving out mythical #’s that don’t exist. They might as well be counting Unicorn farts.
Unicorns certainly fart.
It’s really a matter of how many Unicorns exist ?
If I stick a horn on my dog’s nose (which I promise will not be an easy task), can he identify as a unicorn ?
Rather, can I identify HIM as a Unicorn ? (He will identify as pissed off)
And he farts for damn sure. Horn or not. Usually after a nice dinner.
Kinda like the smell of burning tires in Minneapolis.
I am so sorry that I read your post Rick.
Agree.
BINGO.
The CBO shouldn’t even exist. They are doing what CONgress should ALREADY KNOW AND UNDERSTAND. Needing an entirely separate department to have to make assumptions and calculations based on what Congress is putting into law, means that the people making the laws don’t UNDERSTAND WHAT THEY ARE DOING.
And if that’s the case; then they shouldn’t be representing their constituents. Does nobody else see the insanity here???
Save tax payer money by getting rid of CBO and any other office similar. Make Congress answer for their own decisions. And if they can’t say why they are voting for a bill, or why they put the pork in a bill, then they should be immediately impeached.
I am done with this whole charade.
Thank you for saying this. People don’t realize what can and cannot be done in a reconciliation bill. And to that end, I think Mike Johnson is doing a good job with the hand he’s been dealt in getting this done. We dint get here overnight and we aren’t getting out of the place overnight. If we see the trend lines changing and going in the right direction that’ll be a win.
More reason to take the non-financial issues out of this bill:
Buried deep in Trump’s bill is a secretly added clause that seeks to usurp the rights of individual states to regulate AI.
Republicans in the House Energy and Commerce Committee quietly added the proposed amendment in Section 43201, Subsection C. I say it’s secret because it has received almost no media attention.
The amendment reads as follows:
It would seem to be a direct violation of the 10th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which states that all powers “not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”
This section needs to be stripped out of the bill. The RINOs in the House probably put it in because it violates the 10th Amendment and they are betting on a political judge declaring the whole bill unconstitutional due to this section. Or if the bill passes in its current form with this section in it the Paypal mafia and tech bro lobbyists win, enrich the RINOs and we the people lose more freedom.
On May 16 40 state AGs led by Arkansas AG Tim Griffin sent a letter to the House objecting to the feds being able to block states ability to regulate AI. If the state AGs are aware of this it is no excuse that House reps like Marjorie Taylor Greene can come back and claim they didn’t know it was there. Basically admitting that our congress critters don’t read the bills they are legislating. We know they don’t read them.
The AI topic should be addressed in a stand alone bill on its own with the public knowledge. Not buried in a 1,000 page bill that none of the congress critters read. These 1,000 page bills need to stop also, bills should be single topic less than 50 pages not 1,000 page bills with names, aka headlines, that are misleading of the entire content and purpose of the bill. AI is a separate topic than what the Big Beautiful Bill has been said to apply to.
Every citizen, whose House representative is a member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee that inserted proposed amendment Section 43202 Subsection C, needs to call their Representative and ask them why are they trying to go around the constitution with this amendment.
Wouldn’t it be hard to stop AI internet traffic at the state line? You would have to turn off the internet completely.
The above is not referring to internet traffic – The Commerce clause has probably dealt with that.
The issue is how will AI be regulated and by whom?
It is too bad that there doesn’t appear to be very many people on this site who know or care about the poisonous A.I. amendment in the Big Beautiful Bill. Those of us who know and care absolutely oppose the so-called Big Beautiful Bill.
Just as California usurps control over car emissions they will try to do the same thing with AI. This blue state I’m in will poison AI. At this point I think it’s better to fight this at the federal level even if it flip flops back and forth between the parties in charge with each presidential election cycle.
Waiting for the “Ol Switcheroo”, where they strip out all the language of the Bill passed and substitute a totally different set of provisions under the original title..
Let the bill die if it must, and then let’s run upto October and expect theatrical panic to pass a CR.
And let Trump veto it.
And let’s watch the gummint die. Ha.
Then let’s offer specific, 20 page bills to fund crucial agreed upon items.
The Congress Critters will faint. They will be put on the spot to vote yes or no on very specific items.
Good.
Let it Be.
I lost all respect for so called “budget hawks” or that seemingly sensible idea that to cut down the size of the Government, cut down the budget. “Cut Congresses allowance”.
No, to cut down the size of Gov., …cut down the size of Gov.
The idea that cutting the Gov.’s allowance is going to ‘work’ assumes anyone is looking to balance income and outgo, which they aren’t.
Why doesn’t the worlds richest man know this?
Or as Sundance says “pretends not to know”
Why don’t self proclaimed superior intellects like Massie and Paul know this? Especially since they have passed every spending bill that has added to the debt for the decade? Where is their alternative plan or solution?
Bill A: first year tax cut continuation + DOGE cuts
Bill B: Big, Beautiful Bill without first year tax cut continuation
We had better get to browbeating the Appropriations Committee to give us an update on the FY 2026 budget, NOW… Because these greedy grifters will try YET ANOTHER CR-Omnibus scam, starting in September!!
Typically, the Prez submits his budget to Congress in Feb., then the House Appropriations Committee takes it up, they do Appropriations bills, then send it to the Senate, and it concurs, there is a conference to iron out the differences, & it goes to the Prez to sign by Sept. 30th (end of fiscal year).
It is a CONSTITUTIONAL REQUIREMENT TO DO A BUDGET EACH YEAR. We have only 3 months to complete 2026! The BBB was just for 2025!
We have not had a lawful budget since FY 2008! EIGHTEEN YEARS… And that’s why we have a $36T debt! … So, pester your lazya$$ Congress Critter to see what he is doing NOW for FY 2026.
The donors and MIC always get their cut. The stuff we want not so much.
We are getting tax cuts made permanent with some extras thrown in.
We are getting illegals taken the heck out of our Country AND proper border security.
We are getting elimination of most of the Green New Deal tax breaks.
The Senate needs to remove the AI BS and add in a true no tax on Social Insecurity, send it back to the House pronto, then the con-gress can go about their philandering ways.
Thanks Bob for your careful attention to everything she said. May I also call your attention to the definition of the word (assume) that you used (ass you me). Clearly you understand that the 6+ trillion (as well as 4.5 trillion) INCLUDE budgeted amounts that ARE DISCRETIONARY and as such CAN NOT be included in the BBB. Yet with all that said you still seem unable or unwilling to get it just like the adamantly opposed DemoRATS and self righteously grand standing Rinos. For some there clearly is no hope nor; with the small majority held by republicans any chance of passing anything. So easy to complain and no responsibility to actually accomplish anything!
You are right about one thing, the comment here is to inform public opinion and – maybe just maybe if a lot of people wake up and it trickles up – get to a better solution. However my current outlook is that it will change little in the actual political process.
BUT I dare you that we can look what happens if the MAGA bits are going to be paid for / accounted for by the “emergency spending” (4.5 that can be spend, and 6.5 that is spend) .. So if the MAGA bits are going to be paid for in those 2 trillion excess.
Then the dare is to see how much of the precious MAGA talking points are going to survive a next Congress recission (insert “Shrug we cant afford it” here then).
If you spend 40 bucks on a steak now, then no way your monthly budget is going to be 30 bucks.
Is all I was saying.
As always time will tell.
I appreciate your sarcasm on the careful attention bro! 🙂
I was not being sarcastic, I was complementing Bob on his deep understanding of the information the GREAT Senator from Wyoming was giving. I remember the old saying; “better to be thought a fool then open your mouth and remove all doubt”.
So, maybe the problem is that President Trump doesn’t know what he’s doing? With some help from you he could wise up? Forget those pesky problems like having to work within a broken system.
Is that your position? It sure sounds like it.
You have some choices to make.
You could vote next time for whoever you think will do it your way. Here’s a tip: there is no such person.
Go to DC and talk to the President and his team; convince them he’s wrong. This might be difficult to do. Impossible, really.
Move to another country where things are done your way. Good luck with that.
Continue to fret and stew everyday about how you have the truth and no one is willing to listen. The benefit to this is you can tell yourself how smart you are and no one will say different. You can live your in “in-only- ville” and feel like king of the road since no one lives there except other malcontents who want to convince each other how bad things are.
Or you could keep studying the current situation to grasp what President Trump is trying to achieve.
You could acknowledge there are many ways to do things and the man in the arena gets to pick.
You could also try and find ways to support the President by realizing he is not doing this for himself. He is trying to save the country. All of us need to get on board with that, no matter if we agree with everything he does or not.
You think Trump knows everything in the bill?
Stop with the Trump worship. You can support him without ascribing omniscience and omnipotence to him. Reserve those for God alone.
He knows most of it. He’s a detail person, unlike yourself who hasn’t even figured out he’s our best chance to keep this country from going south, at least for now.
Not only can’t you figure out we’re in a war and he’s the general, but you think you can shame commenters by saying things like “stop the hero worship.” Too bad for you I could care less about your childishness.
My advice is that you post again when you have somthing useful to add, even though that might take you a while.
The problem is that a huge % of the increased spending is now in the MANDATORY spending pot — which in turn comprises 75%+ of ALL spending.
Tax revenues currently are 95% consumed by MANDATORY spending. Virtually ALL of the DISCRETIONARY spending that the annual budget process addresses is being funded by borrowed $$$. Hence the $2+T annual deficits.
It truly is a Gordian Knot.
MANDATORY spending. They can’t be touched. Like the many different welfare programs, social security and other MANDATORY spending.
That is a blatant lie. They “touch” those programs regularly to expand them. Little Johnny doesn’t have a daddy at home so he has to have all of the social programs so he won’t starve. Gotta make sure he has nikes like all the rich kids. Gotta touch that program again to get him one of them there fancy I-phones.
Pop has a hangnail so he has to go on SSI. Since he is on SSI, all them chillins have to get a check too. And don’t forget that obama phone.
If they would start touching those programs and tightening eligibility, they would shrink in a hurry.
Excellent example of showing one didn’t listen to the nine minute video without telling us one didn’t listen to the video link.
Bob, I want to congratulate you on how well you repeat the dem/Koch Rino talking points. I assume you’re probably a bot.
I want to know what happened to the trillions missing from the Pentagon in 2008, then completely forgotten about due to the “big crash” while McCain and Obama were campaigning. Do I have that right?
If you want to slash spending you can’t do it with a reconciliation bill. You would need a 60% majority for that. This bill used the framework of what was passed earlier. You can move the money around but you can’t do much to change the amount. You can pass this with 51%, which is about the most you can hope for, to avoid the increase in taxes if you do nothing at all. I won’t get into how bad the CBO is, but they did not take the tariffs or growth into account when they figured how much this would effect the debt. Those number can only help.
It was just a few years ago that we had never heard “trillion”. Then Obama came along…
It’s all BS.
Love Harriet Hageman!
She is an honorable patriot. A class act in every sense
Agree!
👊👍
I’m curious how Wyoming went from Cheating Cheney to Hero Harriet in one cycle. I guess there really was cheating to get Cheney in.
Cheney threw off her “patriotic Republican” false face and went full bore Trump Hater/Deep State lover.
Remember she was part of the illegal J6 Comittee, each R member selected for his or her political, virulent, unhinged loss of reason. The ugly anti American showed up.
Hageman was/is Cheney’s antithesis.
Thank you, Wyoming…
Love posting this…
Thank You for Posting the short video of Harriet Hageman !
Definitely a Keeper , Miss Betsy 😊
Best to You !
🌞💐
My goodness, Ryder Lee!! So good to see you. I’ve missed seeing you , my friend in these branches 😘👍🏻
Thank You , Miss Betsy 😊
I’m always here reading and trying to keep my mouth shut 😜
Hope All is Well with You , Betsy 😘
Day to day, sis…the same as everyone here who makes their way through this old world of ours. In the company of the Lord who loves each one of us 🙏🏻 I find my “mouth” has a mind of its own as you no doubt know 😎 Blessings always to you and your family, sweet lady 😘
I love re-listening to Harriet. Her line, “And we’re fed up with Liz Cheney!” And the crowds roars!!! They love her, and she loves her state and the America D.C. is trying to destroy!!
I can’t think of many in the House like her, Deborah…maybe one or two others though at this moment I’m struggling to name them. She’s a stand out all right 👍🏻
J6
There’s cheating to get most of the creatures in, and usually at the State level…Political parties boxing in who can run under their ticket or not. We may see an uptick in Independents winning Federal elections (if they’re a true independent), but of course we know the Uniparty will run their operatives as independents also. Always a win/win for the Deep State and a lose/lose for the American people.
I’d like to see a box on the mid-term ballot that says, “Pull a Name Out of a Hat.” 🤣
BRAVO! ! ! 🇺🇸👏👏👏
They are not illegal “Americans”…. they are illegal aliens.
You clearly haven’t paid attention to all the initiatives being implemented to remove the illegals… like self-deportation.
The “illegal Americans” comment came from not getting enough sleep. So I apologize for that.
ICE is underfunded and doesn’t have the holding capacity for mass deportation. They were releasing people due to not having enough space. This one reason the Administration stopped posting numbers, because they simply don’t have the funding for it.
Self deportation is something Republicans have touted whenever the donors start complaining too much about enforcement. Most never self deport.
Hey p-squared, give us your solution to the fiscal predicament we have allowed to happen over the last 50 years because we were asleep at the wheel.
Why Sundance supports this bill puzzles me. The CBO has not fully scored the bill, but they have scored debt servicing. This feature alone adds 2.4 trillion dollars to the national debt by 2034, or to put it another way, takes national debt up from 117.1% of GDP to 123.8%. I believe that Rand Paul is right that this puts us on a trajectory to have the national debt sail past 50 trillion dollars by 2030.
The CBO can never be counted on doing anything beyond providing talking points and excuses for lazy legislators who haven’t passed a budget since W’s last year.
Concern trolling. Ignored.
The art of this deal is actually getting it passed! I am no Trump but I think we share a perspective, in my past business dealings I always underestimated (conservatively for instance, revenue) and overestimated (realistically for instance, expenses) knowing full well I could and would do much better and my bonuses proved I was right.
I had my monthly budget all buttoned up and don’t you know, my internet/phone bill went up $5 and my car insurance went up $15 in one month. They raised my car insurance because (one reason) used car prices went up. (scared of tarriffs). One month. Now they are back down. Will my insurance go down because used car prices went down this month?
Once again you fail to consider the variable of growing tariff revenue into the Treasury. We will make enough to more than afford to pay down debt.
Not a very good try. Right off the bat you ruined it when you implied the CBO uses a valid system to create scores. Their purpose is to convince voters what the dems want is good and what the people want won’t work.
Listen to Stephen Miller’s videos where he explained their nutty math. And no, I’m not going to look for it for you because I already know you wouldn’t care about the facts.
The CBO has been wrong several times since the Reagan administration.
And the CBO is populated by those who swing and donate very heavily democrat.
Not counting that into an evaluation of their already perilous record for accuracy seems foolhardy, at best.
You mean the CBO that says keeping the 2017 tax cuts in place is going to put us in more debt?
These are not rational people, and their agency needs to be on the chopping block. There are enough think tanks in DC that can run numbers and advocate for fiscal responsibility or non-fiscal responsibility. And it would be nice if we had representatives that could add 2+2 and not get 5.
She is my favorite Congresswoman.
She should be AG!
I could listen to her for a long time. She is calm, clear, and informative.
My understanding is that the BBB increases defense spending by 150 billion. That is unnecessary and a complete waste of money IMO. Our Armed Forces somehow can’t function on the massive budget we have now? Never much talk about efficiency, or tailoring to our current needs, or evolving to the modern battlefield, that might mean shifting spending priorities. It’s just more more more.
What our military needs is to be told to spend its 800+ billion annual appropriation more wisely, eliminate an obsolete system if you want a new one, prioritize and streamline. Do we really need 11 aircraft carriers or 800 military bases in 70 counties etc…?
It’s the same thing every single cycle and it’s frustrating.
Golden Dome; new warships; replacing all the stuff shipped to Ukraine…
And left in Afghanistan.
It’s about the Mexican border. Finances to finish the WALL plus agents to facilitate illegal immigrant expulsion.
Read up, watch, and try an extra dose of comprehension – instead of trying to add misdirection and lies into the conversation.
As long as you are engaging in pejoratives, your replay is just plain dumb, and doesn’t address my points. We spend more on our military than the next eight military spenders combined. It takes 5 to 8 million dollars a day to run just a single aircraft carrier. Decommission just one of them would go a long way to finishing the wall.
Think how far President Trump could have gone in life if only he had you to tell him how to do things.
Is that you Elon?
No, it’s commenter who doesn’t like trash talk and you’re a trash talker par excellence.
They weren’t feeding the soldiers.
Sundance also posted this discussion with Senior White House official Taylor Budowich, Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, Office of Management and Budget Director Russ Vought, and James Braid.
https://theconservativetreehouse.com/blog/2025/06/06/white-house-officials-discuss-the-importance-of-the-big-beautiful-bill/
The Big Beautiful Bill is part of suite of PDJT actions to fight back against marxist globalists and corruption, and to make America great again.
That, alone, is enough to support it.
We’ve already seen how the marxists want ‘Build Back Better’, the New Green Scam, lockdowns, injections, institutionalized corruption, stolen elections, chemtrails, fake meat, and ongoing violence.
Succinctly and in plain language explains why DOGE cuts are not included so that anyone continueing to advance that argument, is an idiot.
It’s amazing how Congress can pass a law that cuts something like taxes but can’t cut something like the spending from the DOGE cuts. Odd isn’t it? But it will put Patriot Act 2.0 on every American with that wonderful Palantir software. So it does have that going for it. Then they can just shut us down for posting crap like this.
Idiot might be a little harsh. Congress created the current “budget” process in the 70s, because it considered the previous practice, where tax policy, mandatory spending, and discretionary spending were all treated separately was out of control. So they created “budget” committees to deal with the “big picture” and establish “top line” numbers for the authorizing and appropriations committees to follow.
As part of the process they created a means of amending the budget (which projects out 10 years) known as budget reconciliation. The Senate has devised rules for it that avoid the 60 vote cloture rule, so that’s why the BBB is using this process.
It is correct that the bill includes new appropriations for FY25. I see nothing in there for FY26. So yes, the President’s “budget” that was delivered to Congress last month will have to be considered and appropriation bills for FY26 drafted, as well as any rescissions (note that while money may be appropriated in one fiscal year, it often is available to be actually spent over several years).
Idiot works for me. Maybe Dutch even cleaned it up some for the audience. LOL
We all know who they are – the ones that don’t do any research, believe MSM talking points, lack critical thinking, and can’t wait for the next uniparty candidate to get in office. . The rest of us have had it with them. So idiot, fool, knucklehead, etc. – pile it on. They are good descriptors.
Many of us have lost patience and diplomacy a long time ago. Lucky for them, as this rising tide of peace and prosperity takes hold, it should lift all ships. Yet many idiots still won’t get it.
She seems like a very honest person. Doesn’t come off like used car salesperson like most pols do.
Excellent short and sweet summary justifying the bill. This is the type of thing President Trump needs to do with a national audience on issues of great importance. Sell it Mr. President.
Congresswoman Hageman you are a one Big Beautiful woman for America.
Thank you may God continue to bless you. Amen
We’re digging a hole so deep we won’t be able to climb out. There is a time bomb in the Big Beautiful that is seldom discussed. House Republicans included a 10-year ban on US states regulating AI which big tech claims will transform society. Are House ‘Republicans’ speaking for Americans when they regulate us and take away our necessary tools to remove the strangle hold?
How will society be transformed as big tech claims, particularly if big tech controls our lives with impunity? Barack Obama promised the transformation of America and he was cheered. I don’t recall any asking him to define transformation of America, yet we have witnessed the destruction for many years.
Are we once again going to go down this same road? Ten years is a long time to wait. Meanwhile the big tech industry will be untouchable. Perhaps it is already.
Recommend a new bill authorizing the cloning of this fine legislator and placement of said clone in every state!
I hope Sen. Paul Rand (One-Note Libertarian Whiner from Kentucky) sees this. It is obvious from his babbling that (1) he does not understand the differences between reconciliation, appropriations, and budgeting (or mandatory versus discretionary spending, and how these are regulated by law), and (2) has not proposed any *realistic* alternatives that would muster 219 votes in the House and 51 votes in the Senate.
I agree with one exception, perhaps he does realize the differences but counts on the public not understanding so he can go out and pound tables and grandstand?
He was sent in to obfuscate.
Harriet Hageman beats the hell outta having Liz Cheney in there.
It is actually very nice to see something this quaint in the midst of our neo-Marxist hellscape. She has the perfect elementary/Sunday school teacher delivery. With a little bit of Trump’s marketing genius this could be a winner.
Well done, Harriet. We need more of this, Republican congressman engaging with their constituents to cut through the lies and the smoke that have been blown out about this bill.
When you hear the details of the bill presented clearly like this, laying out what it does and cannot do, you can then turn around and shine the spotlight on people like Thomas Massie, who knows better, for lying and obfuscating.. I’ll give Elon a pass because he’s, as I’ve mentioned before, temperamental and at times emotionally unstable. But Thomas Massie knew better and has proven that he’s everything Trump has decried about him. Massie needs to go.
J
Rep. Hageman may have made an even better argument for the BBB than Stephen Miller did – and that’s saying something!
Just to highlight one feature, the rescission bills will only need a majority and can’t be filibustered. Presumably the Rand Pauls and Massies won’t be holding out their votes.
Listening to her gives one the feeling that perhaps good can come from Congress. The bill sounds great and, any money spent I’m sure President Trump has a plan to have money coming in to take care of it and more. President Trump has my trust.
I have to trust others more knowledgeable than myself in regards to budget bill reconciliation bill etc
because it’s 1400 pages written in a way I don’t understand.
But I’ve heard so conflicting views from so many different people I have no idea if it’s really a good thing or not…so I just have to trust Trump to have done the best he could. understanding along the way both sides of our utterly useless and corrupt congress will ruin the BBB as much possible.
The good news is it is keyword searchable and one can develop an understanding of the real, though complex, language from there.
However, it appears if one posts actual text from the bill, it gets moderated. That’s interesting. I prefer to post actual content and links supporting facts, if possible, per forum guidelines.
Bottom Line: You can try to implement a new bill and fight the RINOs and Democrats up to and through the next election cycle (meanwhile the economy implodes and the largest tax increase in history happens) or you can use reconciliation and get something done NOW.
Harriet Hageman is such an asset to Congress.
As long as State Governments and Federal Entities receiving Federal Funding can FREELY move money around via Reprogramming Authorization that is in INCLUDED IN ALL TYPES of Funding Bills passed by CONGRESS and SIGNED into law by the PRESIDENT there is NO DIFFERENCE between any of the spending BILLS that Congress Passes.
State Governments and Federal Government entities, TODAY, freely move money no matter the type of Spending Bill to their favorite causes and then come back to well crying about shortfalls. That is the reason for Medicaid Shortfalls, Shortfalls in Federal programs year aftr year that are still funded, MISSING COVID Funds, CA Bullet Train that had its Budget diverted, Out of control fires in CA, et al. It is a major source of money going into UKRAINE Crap and missing Trillion Dollars in the DoD. Look at USAID.
The single most important item needed NOW in all spending BILLS is the HIGHLY Restrictive Reprogramming Instructions, which require permissions be sought based on strict sets of criteria and strict accountability. Also, make the entity reprogramming funds sweat blood to justify why the program loosing the money should be refunded. Without this step its all BS and all the insulting commentary about “not understanding differences between spending Bills” is the classic unicorn fart comment.
Something to keep in mind, that Rep. Hageman reminded me of: It’s a RECONCILIATION bill. So, on the basics, she’s right. They CAN’T cut everything we want them to under this bill. I say that, to say this.
Keep the above in mind when you listen to the Massie’s, Paul’s and (sadly, imo) Johnson’s when they spout off about “this bill does nothing to cut spending.” They are correct, but also gaslighting. I don’t expect the average citizen to know the difference between a regular budget bill and a RECONCILIATION bill which exists under different rules. I expect Senators and so-called “budget hawks” to know.
Which tells me a whole lot about the voices who are supposedly “on our side” when they talk about “no cuts.” They know the rules (or should). Which means their agenda and Trump’s agenda are not aligned.
There are more snakes in the grass in DC than you can shake a stick at. And, imo, the number of “representatives” we can trust is very small.
Well, I still don’t trust a Bill that a politician describes as, “Beautiful!” 🤡
She had me at Hello.
The legislators don’t even know everything in the OBBA. Likely more Waste Fraud and Abuse. We expect nothing less than that from our elected crooks and their cronies.
Hageman is acting like Republicans are riding in to save the day when in fact their go along to get along history has got us in this current SHI* SHOW.
We’ll see if they can even pass this 9 billon rescission bill of low hanging fruit. They’ll likely not address it in the 45 day time period.
Term Limit and Primary these crooks.
