The Dept of Homeland Security, led by Secretary Kristi Noem, has ended the collective bargaining agreement with the Transportation Safety Administration (TSA).
The TSA has approximately 47,000 employees represented by the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE). The Dept of Homeland Security is ending the union bargaining agreement, paving the way to streamline the TSA and eventually privatize airport screening.
Transportation Safety Officers (TSOs) are not happy with the decision by DHS and leftist politicians are obviously aligning themselves with the union representation. Anyone who has recently experienced TSA conduct in airports will likely attest to the need for accountability which is severely lacking due to union representation.
MSM – The Department of Homeland Security said Friday it is ending the collective bargaining agreement with the union representing thousands of frontline workers with the Transportation Security Administration, a decision the TSA union called an “unprovoked attack.”
In announcing the decision, DHS criticized the union — which represents worker responsible for screening airline passengers — claiming TSA employs more people working full-time on union issues than those “performing screening functions at 86% of our airports.”
[…] “This action will ensure Americans will have more effective and modernized workforces across the nation’s transportation networks,” Homeland Security said in a statement. “TSA is renewing its commitment to providing a quick and secure travel process for Americans.” (read more)
Hopefully this is the beginning of the end for the lifecycle of the TSA.
While the TSA is forbidden from profiling any protected category of personage, yet a two-year-old requires a “pat down”… Sorry, the TSA is totally lost, gone and they have fully embraced stupid.

17 years of flying with a pacemaker. Wow, it’s been such fun. I can’t go through the old fashioned scanners. But half the modern ones I can go through are never working. Yeah, another 10 minutes of grabbing and groping me because at the age of 70, I am a threat to safety. Oh, and can we wand you too?? Sure thing, skippy, and watch my implant shock me across the room.
As a veteran with a metal implant, I’ve always enjoyed the freedom of a full body scan, wanding and generous grope by some snotnose punk with greasy hair when flying somewhere in the country I have served.
Do I really need a /sarc tag?
Same with me!
They were a feckless, woke, agency designed for the purpose of increasing the numbers of the Federal workforce.
Though I have zero trust in AI, maybe AI could take their place…
I am 79, have a metal shoulder, two fusions in my back and all I can hope for each time I fly is to have a good looking TSA dude to try not to embarrass US. LOL Its insanity.
USFEDGOV employee labor unions are the biggest of all the filthy Democrat money-laundering scams.
“If you want to professionalize, you must federalize.” – That is what the said to get this whole TSA thing started and like most things taken under the federal wing, it becomes a jumbled mess.
My elderly mother, now deceased, used to play dumb with TSA and say she couldn’t bend down to remove her shoes. The screener would have to remove her shoes, walk Mom through the scanner AND put her shoes back on! It was so entertaining to watch the charade.
Good for your Mom Quilter!
I can tell the old guy with the two canes is a professional… have never trusted old guys with canes… very, very sketchy…
Most TSA goons aren’t even screening. They are doing union ‘work!’

Arrogant, mall cops. Just , why?
What if, their pay was on tips?
Good.. they are as bad as the teachers worthless union
When you cannot reprimand bad behavior you get more of it. Teachers are ignorance gone to seed, a whole other level of stupidity.
How can you teach what you do not know.
Right after 9/11 was flying back from DC through Denver. Had been at an counter terrorism training conference which required a security clearance to attend. When I got to my connecting flight’s gate, having never gone outside of the inner security parameter of the airport was stopped by TSA before boarding the plane, again at the gate. Total farce. Full search with handwand and pat down. Shoes and belt off etc. Total show in front of several hundred people. My carryon was dumped out on the floor and gone through piece by piece. My plane was fully loaded and held at the gate for 25 minutes while they did this totally ridiculous BS show search. When I opened my checked bag once I got home, found the lock had been cut & everything inside the bag wadded up and crammed back inside.
Found out later everyone who attended the conference with a DOD security clearance got the same BS show searches. The TSA apparently thought we were some kind of auditors. Total BS
Works for me.
All this talk of airport security experiences reminded me of an incident a former employer had many years ago, around 1982. He was flying an American carrier on an international business flight Tokyo. Ever since he was a little be he, like many of us, carried a folding pocket knife. Probably had one since he was a Boy Scout. So, of course, going through security the knife was made evident. Security took his knife, wrapped a piece of tape around it, and handed it back to him with explicit instructions: “Do not remove this tape until you are through security at your destination!” On the long flight to Tokyo, pocket knife still securely taped and in his pocket, they served the in flight meal. He, like many others on the flight, were served a piece of steak, complete with a sharp steak knife to cut it.
My husband had dozens of pocket knives taken from him by airport security; he always forgot that he had one in his pocket but I can’t fault him, he carried pocketknives since he was a young kid.
He always thought they sold whatever they confiscated, unless they wanted it for themselves; prolly true!
I’ve been in quite a number of airport security offices to obtain access badges. Almost all had a little display of the things they have confiscated at checkpoints, including a chainsaw.
They all had plastic totes full of knives, multi-tools, nail clippers, etc., that they took. I was told they auctioned them off in big lots.
The security theatre of the TSA….all part of the great pretending
The FBI and CIA’s incompetence or malfeasance resulted in the creation of this agency. Is wasn’t that the airport failed to detect box cutters, it was because our intelligence agencies failed to follow through and deport known threats. They took advantage of a crisis they created. The result was another inefficient government bureaucracy.
TSA = Thousand’s Standing Around – The most useless – worthless government agency ever created. As a weekly business flyer I have to deal with the TSA idiots on a regular basis. I hope President Trump shuts down this money wasting organization.
Perhaps the “attack” was provoked by the millions of complaints from the public about the way they were treated by these tinpot fascists you have to get thru just to use air travel.
Is there even a discussion anymore about getting back to a pre 9-11 level of airport security? We should have–from the onset–created clear timelines when we would return to normal (pre 9-11). I think each airport commissioner should be able to decide how much security is required. With this ‘in play’, passengers will travel to airports with reputations of being polite, efficient, and minimal BS pre-boarding.
Dream on. How many whack jobs get on planes & do something mid-air that threatens security per week. You had a lady strip off her clothes on a Southwest flight, yelling at the top of her lungs before the flight left Houston yesterday. They had to remove her off the plane & take her in for a psych evaluation. Or fist fights over boarding. We’re not flying a better class of people these days.
Seems like these incidents have increased after the mRNA jabs were rolled out. Not sure if there is a connection though.
or it might be something to do with fools displaying their weirdness on TicToc and consider it normal/OK to display their mental states of Crazy
Last time I flew in 2023 my elastic knee brace was the reason used to pat me down in every airport. Forget the fact airports require a lot of walking for us seniors!
Not to mention hardly any of the TSA personnel I encountered flying a year or so ago spoke English. Perhaps Noem can look into those employees for illegals to deport.
Unfortunately we know terrorists are not beyond using children, people in w/c’s to load up with bombs
Employment program we can do without.
Get rid of the Department of Homeland Security too. Never existed before 9/11! TSA was private security before 9/11.
I’m not usually in favor of eliminating negotiated union contracts but I was indirectly affected by one (not included or eliminated) years ago and I knew that the union had arrogantly overstepped its role and some of the employees sense of entitlement led to the eventual result. They were paid far more than the same job in the private sector and had many additional benefits but it was never enough.
Unfortunately, I know that some dedicated hard working women and men were hit by this purge. I suspect this will be the case for the TSA employees as well but I don’t know the ratio.
Ban all unions for government jobs, period. Congress, pass a useful law, for once.
I wonder if some TSA display of “FOUND POTENTIAL WEAPONS” includes my fingernail clippers?
All because of a DEW attack by our own nation on the Twin Towers. They used it to justify cancelling our Constitutional Protections from the Government and push the rest of this Communist radical agenda on us. The TSA and their Union needs to be eliminated.
A while ago one could go to Stapleton International Airport, walk to a gate and greet the departees. So my wife and baby (about 6 months old) in a stroller and I went to visit with family that had a several hour lay over. We did have to go through a check point where the guard checked us out and asked us to remove our baby from the stroller so it could be checked. Of course I told him to be careful as our daughters diaper might be loaded! That got me pulled aside and a very stern lecture on how I could be fined $10k for interfering with (making fun of) his duties.
Best to plan international flights out of Tijuana. Both departure and arrival. No sex fiend groping agents allowed!
Viva México!
Gracias Dios!!
