The mistake folks make with Trump…
Many folks don’t understand the dynamics of making deals. There are only two and’a half rules.
1.) If you are in control of the situation you dominate
2.) If you are not in control of the situation you negotiate.
I’ve run across countless folks that struggle mightily with that concept. They try do dictate the situation when they are not in control. That will drive you absolutely ding-bat crazy if you’re one of those. Trying to control a situation over which you have no control. El President Petro comes to mind as an immediate example. Telling a traffic court judge to kiss your a.. and you ain’t paying any speeding fine is another. Same net results
In control – Dominate/negotiate – comes in many flavors. Most common is being dominate in one area but not so much in another of the same situation. Use your strength to negotiate for your weakness. Trump excels at this.
Absolute control – DOMINATE – Trump in the Columbia situation. Poor o’l Petro failed to realize he had no position of strength and decided to go to battle with Trump. President Trump was extremely generous as he supplied a life’s lesson to Petro that Petro probably won’t soon forget. Do not make demands from a position of weakness.
