The first selection by President Trump, highlighting his team to enter the White House, has been made. President Trump selects Susie Wiles to be his Chief of Staff in the White House. Mrs Wiles will be the first female White House Chief of Staff in history.
“Susie is tough, smart, innovative, and is universally admired and respected. Susie will continue to work tirelessly to Make America Great Again,” Trump said in a statement. “It is a well-deserved honor to have Susie as the first-ever female Chief of Staff in United States history. I have no doubt that she will make our country proud.”

Mrs Wiles was basically responsible for controlling the access to candidate Donald Trump in the 2024 campaign. Her time away from DC politics is potentially both a negative and a net positive. Heck, Ron DeSantis didn’t like her, but rumors are they made amends.
While I doubt Mrs Wiles understands the nature of the fourth branch of government, she will likely be a critical advisor to President Trump despite the fringe right elements of the MAGA movement predictably about to go bananas. Anyone wanting to work for President Trump will now go through the filter of Wiles.

He’s an ‘in the know’ attorney. He has been involved in deep dives in some investigations, I believe.

Trump knows her well at this point. They must communicate easily and maybe she is a calming influence.
Wasn’t she the one who at Trump’s Nov 6 early am speech was asked if she wanted to say a few words, and she said, no? She didn’t seem interested in taking center stage. My thought was good, she knows who people want to hear from and it’s not her. Whatever you think of her, that campaign was really well run.
She was a Pfizer lobbyist. I guess RFKjr would counterbalance that.
No she wasn’t. Outright lie. She was a lobbyist for a firm that may have had other lobbyists involved with Pfizer, which I haven’t seen any mention of being the case. She certainly wasn’t one.
The usual people were pushing for Kevin McCarthy – who wanted the job badly. Steve Bannon hired her to work on moving Florida into Trump camp in 2016, he thinks she is a excellent pick. If Bannon is pleased I’m good with it, too.
Bannon knows her from 2016 campaign and thinks she is a good choice. She was there during the dark 2021 days and he believes that she is loyal.
I think Bannon was essentially saying , “it could have been worse” and was trying to calm down a disappointed base/audience. I didn’t take his comments as a ringing endorsement.
Other personnel picks will be more important. After sone horrific picks in the first term, he needs to do way better this time.

I emailed Susie with an idea late last year. She was very gracious and it tickled her that I gave her dad some props and mentioned Lindon Crow. The campaign also used my idea, though in truth I’m sure several people with more prominence than me may well have had the same idea at the same time.
Likewise, I have had good commo with Senator Tuberville. He coached at Cincinnati, where one of my uncles started after coming home from WWII.
His father and I are both vets of the 101st Airborne Division. I mentioned those items to him, and he got a kick out of it.

Susie may be tough, smart, innovative and universally admired and respected but from what I have read about the position it is a thankless, 18 hour per day, pressure cooker environment.
One former Chief of Staff said that because the days ran together for days on end, sometimes for several weeks at a time he had to look at a calendar to know what day it was.
Given the fact that Susie Wiles is 67 years old the position should have been filled by someone who is much younger.
As one who had been in healthcare for nearly 40 years, I find this connection disturbing:
