The tastes of the many (20,000) Haitians presently gracing the lives of the citizens of SPRINGFIELD, OHIO, run toward American Shorthair cats of all kinds, and small, “yappy” dogs. One Haitian migrant was caught with what was left of the feast with a Calico as the main course. Some officers of the law stopped to see if the migrant enjoyed his meal, asking, “Did you eat that cat?”

Back in the 80’s and 90’s you’d see little live kitty cats absolutely crammed into cages at Meat Markets.
I’m assuming they still do it.
The timing of this is so horrible for me. I rescued new born kittens 19 years ago. I bottle fed them.
Saturday, after much anguish, they were put to sleep because their health was deteriorating. They were fed freshly cooked chicken and salmon. Their kibble was as expensive as hell with no grains or additives.
The veterinary assistant said that they looked like 14 – not 19 year old cats. I took such good care of my feline sisters.
The thought that one of these people, who are provided debit cards, free housing, etc. –would kill and eat my lovely ladies (who were never outside cats) makes me physically ill.
I won’t even go into the million missing & trafficked children in this country.

It came to the table, I took a bite of the “chicken”. Weirdest texture and flavor. Decided it *had* to be cat, and there was no way I was eating that stuff.
I ate chicken all over China and that’s the only time it ever happened. But still….yuck.

I always ate in regular ol’ Chinese restaurants. The food was great and never got sick once.
In fact, China’s one of the few places I *didn’t* get sick from the food.
They cook at such high temperatures that it just kills any bad stuff, I guess.
The very questionable “chicken” was a one-off.

People who are starving will eat whatever is available. I have heard of someone in China eating cat meat, but it is supposedly a last resort because it is not very good tasting – from a missionary’s daughter.

A Chinese restaurant in my hometown was shut down because they had too many cats in the freezer. They were allowed to have a few for personal use. The health department assumed the freezer full of cats meant they were serving it to customers and shut them down.

That is staggering.
If you were to make certain assumptions for the sake of calculating some numbers you can get believable results.
Say that your subject of interest communicated with ten other people for convenient math. And each of those individuals then communicated with ten more different people, up to the limit of three hops from the first subject.
You would be looking at over 1,000 (10^3) people using those parameters. Add more unique contacts and the number will go up geometrically.
The other point of importance is how long you are surveilling for. The wider the time frame the more unique contacts each person will encounter.

I like to try and think of possible solutions to our problems. If this is a solution and someone with knowledge sees it, please take and run with it.
I have often read conservatives and tea party types saying that there needs to be a law forcing Congress to follow the laws that they impose on us.
I started thinking, isn’t this issue a clear violation of the equal protection clause of the U.S. Constitution? Why should Congress get breaks on insider trading, etc. just because they’re in Congress? The short answer is that they shouldn’t as the Constitution is clear that we all are under the law.
Maybe a few well filed lawsuits could breach the dam on this issue.
The only person who should have some special protection is a sitting President and the moment that he/she is no longer President, laws and the Constitution should begin to affect even him/her again.
Repealing the 17th Amendment will go a long ways towards reigning in Congress critters.
Who knows, maybe States will be more assertive of invoking the 10th Amendment after that as well as challenging everything else infringing on the rest of the Bill of Rights.
